Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Seeing the Night Fury

On Berk Island, inside the Great Hall!

Stoick was roaring with all the men from Berk Island: "The Dragons have stolen our winter food, so it's either their death or ours!"

"Only combat is the only way to deal with Dragons!"

"Therefore, we must find the Dragon Nest, then kill these Dragons, and drive them away forever! Only then can we completely protect Berk Island!"

"Warriors! Before the ice age arrives, we must search again!"

Upon hearing this, all the Vikings present began to whisper, clearly unwilling to search for Dragons.

So someone shouted loudly: "Ships that went to search for the Dragon Nest in the past never returned!"

"Exactly! Even if we go, it's just suicide!"

"Although we've lost our sheep, we still have some food for winter. Being hungry is better than being swallowed whole by a Dragon!"

"Bang!"

Stoick slammed the table heavily, then roared: "We are Vikings, and adventure is our Viking nature!"

"Although my son Hiccup is weak, he also has an adventurous spirit and is equally determined to become a warrior to protect Berk Island, on which we rely for survival!"

"Are you going to shrink back!? Are you going to watch Berk Island be destroyed by Dragons!? Are you willing to see your wives and children swallowed by Dragons!?"

"Now! Who is willing to go out to sea with me to find the Dragon Nest and fight these Dragons to the death!"

Although the Vikings present were somewhat moved after hearing this, they all had various reasons not to go.

Stoick slumped into his chair in disappointment, his bell-like eyes staring at the people present as he said: "Since none of you are willing to go!"

"Then stay and help me train Hiccup into a qualified warrior!"

"That way, even if I die on the way to conquer the Dragons, there will still be someone to continue guarding Berk Island for me!"

As a tribal leader, being able to do this was considered benevolent and righteous!

Suddenly hearing such heavy words, most of the Viking warriors immediately waved their arms and shouted: "Vikings never retreat! Count me in!"

Hearing these familiar words, Stoick immediately thought of Hiccup, then suddenly stood up, raised his arm, and shouted: "Vikings never retreat!"

Such an inspiring slogan immediately energized the Vikings present.

They all raised their arms and shouted loudly: "Vikings never retreat!"

"Vikings never retreat!"

"Vikings never retreat!"

Seeing this situation, Stoick's tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed, and he then shouted: "Everyone, board the ships! Depart!"

Iron-worker Gobber also shouted excitedly: "Let's go! Depart! It's been a long time since I've been this excited!"

Just as Gobber was about to leave, Stoick suddenly called out to him and said: "No! Gobber, my old friend! You should stay!"

"Why!? Are you saying I'm too slow and not brave enough!?" As he said this, Gobber's temper flared.

Waving his prosthetic limb, he said: "Don't look at my prosthetic hands and feet, these are the sharpest weapons. With a gentle swing, I can cut off a Dragon's head!"

"Even if I'm slow, I will definitely charge at the very front. I promise I will not retreat a single step!"

Listening to Gobber's ambitious words, Stoick felt a little unbearable; not being able to go to battle was the greatest punishment and torment for a Viking.

Stoick sighed deeply, and Gobber immediately understood, saying: "Are you worried about Hiccup!? You think he's probably safely forging weapons in the Blacksmith Shop right now!?"

"That kid's stubbornness is no less than yours! Are you afraid that kid will surpass you one day?"

Stoick shook his head, then said: "No! Gobber, you are the most experienced warrior on the entire Berk Island, apart from me!"

"Therefore, it's most suitable for you to stay and train the new recruits! The future of Berk Island is in your hands!"

Gobber looked at Stoick's serious expression, and finally said helplessly: "Alright then! Let Demon Instructor Gobber personally train these little brats!"

After explaining everything, Stoick left Berk Island with peace of mind. After boarding the ship, he still looked back at Berk Island with reluctance, fantasizing about seeing Hiccup one last time.

But in the end, he shook his head in disappointment. Although he didn't know if this expedition would be a matter of life or death, for Berk Island, for all the villagers, and especially for Hiccup, he had no choice but to go!

One warship after another, filled with Viking warriors, slowly rowed towards the horizon, finally disappearing from sight.

Hiccup stood on a hilltop on Crow Ridge, watching the departing warships and thought: "This time, my cheap father won't encounter any danger, and no Viking warrior will die!"

"It's just that the warships will be a bit damaged, so there's no need to stop them! Just let them go for a stroll. It's good that no one can hinder my plans!"

Thinking this, Hiccup followed the downhill path of Crow Ridge and found the tracks where the Night Fury had fallen. From a distance, he indeed saw a dark Dragon lying on the ground, sleeping!

"Creak~~"

Hiccup deliberately snapped a dead branch, but the Night Fury didn't open its eyes completely.

It wasn't until Hiccup squatted next to the Night Fury that it opened its emerald green eyes, its vertical pupils like a snake's, staring intently at Hiccup.

Hiccup, meanwhile, squatted down and gently stroked the Night Fury's forehead.

The cold touch was like touching a piece of black cold ice, and the Night Fury waved its front paw, wanting to push Hiccup's hand away.

But Hiccup easily dodged it, then he began to walk around and observe. When he reached the tail, Hiccup murmured to himself: "The tail fin is indeed half broken, and blue-purple blood is still constantly flowing from it!"

"Since the tail fin is half broken, that means the story plot hasn't changed. It can only glide and run at most. Even if I release it, it will just fall into that puddle in the end!"

The Night Fury didn't pay any attention to Hiccup, continuing to close its eyes and sleep, letting him walk around freely.

Suddenly, the Night Fury opened its eyes wide in surprise, because it could feel that the ropes on its body were loosening; with just a slight effort, it could break free.

It never imagined that this human cub in front of it would actually be willing to release it.

After Hiccup cut the last rope, he clapped his hands and said: "You are free!"

However, the Night Fury quickly turned around and swung its sharp Dragon claws...
