The Bird Leader took a step back in the air, his wings trembling. He felt a wave of terror like never before.
Even if she was a criminal, no female deserved a death so cruel.
And if she was telling the truth...if she was really the witch doctor's mate...then the man standing next to him was not a person.
He was a demon. How could he watch such a gruesome death with a smile on his lips?
The witch doctor turned his head slowly, the evil smile still on his face. He looked at the Bird Leader, who was now pale and shaking.
"Tribe leader, sorry for the inconvenience," the witch doctor said calmly, as if he hadn't just watched a woman be shredded to pieces.
"Shall we lead the beast tide toward the fleeing Fox Tribe now?"
The Bird Leader couldn't find his voice. He could only nod stiffly, his heart cold with dread.
He realized he had made a terrible mistake.
