Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Harriet absolutely felt stupid for not thinking about sending a letter to those idiots! She was the one who had been teaching Harry about their magical abilities and what she knew from what she heard from their parents.

For Kami's sake, how embarrassing.

She returned with paper and a pen. Harry had already finished his ham sandwich and was drinking juice while watching his sister write the letter.

Harriet decided to send the letter to Remus, since he was her godfather and Sirius was Harry's godfather. Once she finished writing, she looked at it, reread it, and nodded to herself. Yup, perfect.

"Now, let's find an owl..."

"How are we gonna find an owl?"

"I remember seeing a few at the park," Harriet had seen owls once while jogging there. "Come on, let's wash the dishes and head to the park before those pigs return. Also, grab the book—we'll return it to the library on our way back."

"Got it."

After they cleaned up, Harry went upstairs to grab the book and came back down. Harriet and Harry changed their shoes and left the house, heading to the park nearby.

"How are we gonna get an owl to take our letter? Who did you write to?" Harry asked.

"I wrote the letter to Mooney," she replied, walking beside him while keeping her guard up. "Owls are intelligent... We just have to ask an owl to send it to Remus Lupin. The owl will find him."

"You don't know much, do you?"

"Shut up, I only know what I remember..."

Harry was a little envious of his sister for having such strong memories — she even remembered everything since birth, including their parents. His sister told him what their parents looked like. He was like their dad, except without the round glasses; in some ways, he resembled their mum too. They both had green eyes like hers.

His messy black hair was like their father's, and his face resembled their mother's. As for Harriet, she was completely different from James and Lily, though she looked a bit more like Lily just little. Her hair, her big forehead, and her green eyes. They looked different, and yet they were twins.

Harry liked her pink hair a lot. It was beautiful. He kind of wished he had pink hair as well.

Soon enough, they reached the park without being stopped along the way and stepped inside. Immediately, Harriet began searching for an owl. Harry did too.

Walking around, they looked at the trees and pretended to take a stroll. The park didn't have many visitors; there were people, but only a few.

"I don't think there are any owls here, sis," Harry said, looking around. "I can't see them."

"How strange..." Harriet muttered. "I did see some before... Maybe..." She pulled out the letter she wrote and lifted her hand.

Harry blinked. "What's that supposed to do?"

Harriet shrugged. "I—"

That was when they heard a hoot right above their heads. They looked up to find an owl staring down at them. 'Whatcha got there, human?' the owl stared.

Harry blinked twice.

Harriet grinned. "Found it!"

Two days later, in an unknown forest, Remus Lupin's hands trembled as he held the letter like it was the most precious thing in the world and yet terrifying.

So many emotions hit him the moment he received it. It was from Harriet. His goddaughter.

But the contents of the letter were far from pleasant.

His cubs had been placed with Lily's sister.

Petunia. She hated magic! What was Dumbledore thinking?!

Remus was sitting in a British forest with a werewolf group who allowed him to stay for the night. He had planned to leave Britain that day, but the owl arrived with a letter for him.

At first, he felt confused. Who would write to him? No one contacted him besides the Headmaster, and it was usually Fawkes who delivered those letters.

It was a good thing he hadn't left. His cubs needed him.

The address for meeting the cubs was written clearly, and Harriet told him she awaited his reply and the meeting place.

Remus didn't hesitate to grab his bag and start writing a letter back. Headmaster's orders be damned—he would meet his cubs. One way or another!

—————————

Harriet received the reply two days later at the park she kept visiting so their lovely relatives wouldn't discover they were communicating with someone.

She couldn't bring Harry with her because it would be suspicious for the twins to go together to the park all the time. Harriet had excuses prepared—buying groceries or taking a walk to play with ducks at the tiny pond.

Harry used to join her often, but lately Petunia was tense, as if waiting for something to happen. If Harriet was right, she was expecting the Hogwarts letters to arrive soon.

The letter she received from Remus was a bit strange; the handwriting was shaky. Nonetheless, he agreed to meet them. He wrote that he was glad to hear from them and wanted to see them.

So short and simple. Harriet's eye twitches. Oh, she's going to punch him. Kami, hold her back.

Shoving the letter into her pocket, she leaves the park and heads back home where Harry is waiting for her. Now, the meeting point.

The library is the only place where the pigs cannot reach them and wouldn't be suspicious. After all, Harriet and Harry like reading books. What else do they do there? Nothing.
