Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: THE CLIMAX

Blood covered the walls, puddles of blood laid on the floor. Sarah couldn't believe the sight she was seeing. Three dead bodies laid on the stage on top of pools of blood.

Cacy's body was covered in cuts and bruises, Nickel's also had cuts as well as that his right arm seemed to be bent the wrong way, and then Marcus' was a more horrific sight; his neck had two deep stab wounds on his neck and his eye were stabbed also.

A small gust of wind entered the church through the doors making Sarah feel chilly. When she looked down at her feet she saw her trousers were covered in blood and that she was holding a knife covered in blood. She then noticed the injured girl awake on her chair and that her sister as well as Lily weren't in the church.

The injured girl was filled with fear she couldn't believe what she saw. Sarah slowly approached her. The young girl went into a panic, she tried to struggle out of her chair but the ropes were too tight.

Sarah noticed the young girl's panic, quickly dropped the knife and began to walk slowly to her while saying, " Hey calm down alright. Please tell what happened here and where is my sister?"

The girl remained silent. Sarah remembered that the girl was deaf. Before Sarah could think of anything else, police charged in the church.

"Freeze!" Said one of them.

Sarah then froze still and didn't move a muscle.

The next day.

Sarah was in one of the cells of the ingola police station. The cell was cold and damp, the lights were dim and the others who were put in the same cell as her sat far opposite her in fear. She then looked at he self;at her blood stained clothes. She was still puzzled with how everything could just turn south when she passed out. Soon an officer came and asked for her.

Sarah was taken into an interrogation room and was told to sit down on a steel chair as he brings someone. After a few minutes a tall man and an old woman walked into the room.

The man was dressed in a blue shirt with a black jacket, grey jeans and black shoes. He also had a small beard, short hair and brown skin. The old woman was dressed in long sleeved green shirt and wore a long black skirt that reached her ankles.

When Sarah noticed the old woman she remembered her as her step–grandmother, Mwape. When Mwape took one glance at Sarah and felt like she wanted to pass out; She couldn't believe her eyes. Her granddaughter's clothes were covered in blood, even some blood was on her hands and checks. Mwape looked at the man with an angry look at her face and said an aggressive tone in her voice, "You never told me she was like this. If you told me that her clothes were in this way I could have brought some fresh ones for her." Turning back to Sarah she then felt like someone was missing and asked, " Where's the other one? The blonde one Samantha, where is she?"

"We don't know yet," said the tall man, "but where trying to look for her. Now please, take a seat."

Mwape sat beside Sarah while the tall man sat opposite the two.

"Okay Sarah please tell us what happened." The tall man asked.

Sarah explained everything to them leaving no detail behind. The tall man then gently scratched his small beard in confusion. Still looking at Sarah he asked, " What do you mean by ' you passed out, found all those killers dead the moment you woke up and have no memory of how it happened."

"That's all I remember." said Sarah.

Before the man could ask another question the police officer came into the room.

"Michael," said the officer, " come here for a second."

" What's so important? I'm busy."

"I some guy wants you. He says that his from R.C.P.D"

"R.C.P.D," Michael gasped, "River City Police Department. What the hell do they want me for?"

"I don't know. Just get over here."

The two men left the room and went to where the R.C.P.D were.

The two men walked into the office and found a man and one woman. The two were dressed in an all black police uniform. The woman had dark skin, brown eyes and wore a wrist watch on her right hand which had the word engraved ,'SUBRIDE'. The man was Caucasian with a strong build, he had a cigarette in-between his teeth, he had green eyes and rich blonde hair and a small tattoo on his neck which said the same thing,'SUBRIDE' Michael noticed this and felt uneasy.

Michael and the officer looked at the two R.C.P.D officers. Michael then walked forward and introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you Michael," Said the woman, "my name is Grace Mwaka bad this is my partner Robert Smith."

Robert then leaned in to shake Michael's hand. Michael received it and Robert shook his hand gently and let go after.

"Now kindly tell me what you want," Michael asked, "I'm quite busy as it is and you're making waste time."

"Gladly," Grace said with a smile on her face. She then took out a letter from her pockets and handed I over to Michael. "As you can see sir we have permission to take over this case." Putting her hands behind her back she said, in a low dark tone, "So we'll be needing those two suspects."

Michael looked at the letter. It had a stamp from the From the minister of defense, he opened the letter and read what was written inside.

"As you can see," Grace continued, "we have full power to take over this investigation."

Michael couldn't bring himself to argue but asked, "Ingola and River city are two different places. So please tell me what made you come all the way here as well as how did you know about this over night."

"Mr Michael," Robert finally spoke. While holding his cigarette in his hands he said, "now that's our business and we can't tell you that. We were just told to a

Come here so please don't resist."

Michael turned to the officer. The officer gave Michael an encouraging nod to go through with it.

"Fine," Michael said finally giving in, "one of them is in the interrogation room while the other is at Ingola general hospital."

"Thank you for your cooperation." said Grace. The R.C.P.D officers left the room. Michael walked out a moment later and went to the interrogation room to tell the family that they were free to go. The two relatives left the station and went home.

After the family had left Michael took a seat at a bench which was near the station. From his pocket he pulled out a small flask and drank from it. Mind felt uneasy. How could Sarah not remember what she did? Was it that her mind forgot all about to avoid remembering horrific memories? Or was it that she was scared of confessing?

Taking another sip from the flask he then thought about the R.C.P.D officers, why they were so interested on Sarah and the injured girl. Michael knew that something was up and despite being pulled out of the case he had to just at least find some answers.
