Chapter 9.1 - Shared Diary

Oh, Ryu... I still remember that day and I get so nervous. I didn't know what was going to happen when I saw you in that room... I felt like I was going to have a heart attack.

But well, since you probably heard a lot of strange Spanish words on the way to the hotel, let me explain a few so you don't get confused:

Cruceño: A person from Santa Cruz, the city we're in.

Camba: This is what we call people from this eastern region of Bolivia.

Colla: This is what people from the west are called (La Paz, Cochabamba, etc.).

Pues/Puej: A filler word, like when you say "well" or "you know" in English.

Toborochi: A typical tree from eastern Bolivia that has a very pretty, large flower.

Yes, I remember it too... but not so much the nervousness. That day I was annoyed because you had my grandmother's necklace. I still wonder what you felt holding it in your hands.

But well, since we're clarifying things, some words from my side also appeared in this chapter:

Nuna (누나): This is what a younger brother calls his older sister in Korea. Min-jun calls Seo-yeon this.

Seoul: The capital of South Korea, where we were born.

Busan: Another important city, in the south of the country, famous for its port, its food, and for having a distinct way of speaking (the Busan accent).

In Korea, it's also like it is here in Bolivia: the cities have clear differences in culture, accent, and way of thinking.
