Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: After the War

In the Rayquaza's cabin, Kai led a group of high-ranking officers filing in with measured steps.

"Ah! Kai-lando, you're so badly injured!"

Seeing Kai covered in blood, Mansherry, who had been waiting there anxiously, cried out in genuine panic.

She didn't even notice that several fierce-looking, burly strangers had suddenly appeared in the cabin.

"Yes, I'll have to trouble you, Mansherry." Kai smiled gently despite his condition.

"Leave it to me! I'll heal you completely."

Mansherry nimbly jumped onto Kai's head with determined purpose.

"Tears of Healing."

Mansherry closed her eyes and clasped her hands together. Crystal-clear teardrops fell one by one from the corners of her eyes, dripping onto Kai.

A warm current spread throughout his body along with the tears, as if his entire being were soaking in a rejuvenating hot spring.

Kai let out a comfortable sigh of relief.

Under everyone's astonished gazes, his wounds healed at a visible rate.

Before long, all the wounds on Kai's body had disappeared completely.

"Thank you so much. I feel completely better!"

Kai carefully placed the little princess on the table, stood up, and stretched, feeling no discomfort at all.

The Heal-Heal Fruit's ability was just that powerful and unreasonable.

"I'm glad I could help Kai-lando." Mansherry smiled shyly, her little face reddening with pride.

"Wow, amazing! Healed just like that!"

Yamato, as if discovering a new continent, curiously approached the table, bent down with her enlarged face almost touching Mansherry, and opened her eyes wide as she examined the little person from all angles.

"Wah! So scary!"

Mansherry screamed in fright and quickly hid behind Leo, only peeking out half her little head.

"Hey! Yamato!"

Kai helplessly reached out and gently pushed away Yamato's overly enthusiastic head. "Don't scare Mansherry. She's naturally timid."

"Hehe, sorry!" Yamato straightened up, cooperatively showing a somewhat silly smile like a gentle Samoyed.

"Don't worry, Yamato is a good person." Kai turned to explain to Mansherry reassuringly.

"Phew! That's good then." Mansherry patted her chest and sighed in relief.

"Please treat the others too." Kai pointed to King and the others behind him, making the request.

"No problem!" Mansherry puffed out her chest again and agreed without hesitation.

In less than an hour, all the officers in the cabin had recovered their complete health.

King silently witnessed this miraculous healing process throughout, quickly realizing Mansherry's extraordinary strategic value.

This was an ability that could change the outcome of entire wars.

He immediately ordered with authority: "Mansherry's existence is the Beast Pirates' highest classified secret. No one is allowed to leak it!"

"Yes!" The officers responded in unison.

Such a powerful strategic fruit ability should naturally be kept secret for as long as possible.

After the other officers left, King spoke with approval: "I agree completely. From now on, the Tontatta tribe will be under your and Yamato's direct management."

He hadn't expected that Kai would just go on an errand and discover such an incredible ability user from Dressrosa.

Not only Mansherry, but also that woman called Violet outside possessed strategic fruit abilities.

Kaido-san's decision to recruit him was truly the right call.

After speaking, King turned and departed. As the Beast Pirates' vice-captain, he still had a pile of matters waiting for him to resolve.

The war was won, but the aftermath was far from over.

At Onigashima, the fleet returning victorious from the expedition received a wildly enthusiastic welcome from the pirates who had stayed behind.

There were beating gongs, exploding firecrackers, and seas of celebrating people!

In the banquet hall, Kaido's smile hadn't disappeared since Kai had seen him.

"Wororororo! That old hag Linlin is finally weaker than me!"

His happy expression made Kai wonder if Kaido's purpose in starting this war was just to get one up on his old friend.

After three rounds of drinks and five courses of dishes, it was time for rewards based on merit.

"I announce that from today, six positions will be established above the Tobiroppo, called the Flying Six."

Kaido stood up and called out loudly: "Jack, Who's-Who, Sasaki, Black Maria, Ulti, and Page One!"

The six responded and came forward.

"You are the first generation Flying Six under my command!"

Kaido directly announced the selections, but before the group could smile, his cold words followed: "But remember, my pirate crew doesn't raise useless trash! Just like the All-Star rule, anyone who can defeat you can immediately take your position."

The law of the jungle was the Beast Pirates' iron rule.

Hearing this, the previously quiet banquet hall instantly erupted in frenzied roars.

Countless ambitious gazes locked onto the six newly promoted Flying Six like hungry wolves.

The air was thick with naked challenge.

Jack and the others showed no weakness, responding: "If they can manage it, then let them come."

"Wororororo!"

Kaido burst into even more hearty laughter and gulped down a large mouthful of alcohol: "Now these are my good subordinates."

The next day, Kai returned to the Shogun's castle in the Flower Capital.

During his absence, quite a few official duties had piled up on his desk.

Although Fukurokuju had helped handle them, there were still some he couldn't decide on independently.

After Kai finished processing them, he introduced a man who had come with him to Fukurokuju: "This is Riku Doldo III. From today, he will assist me in handling Wano Country's daily government affairs. From now on, you'll focus on managing the Oniwaban and ninja forces."

That's right. The job Kai gave King Riku was prime minister of Wano Country.

Fukurokuju was loyal, but power still needed to be distributed when appropriate.

Since the experienced King Riku had come to seek refuge, it would be wasteful not to use his talents.

Since the Kingdom of Dressrosa had been well-governed under King Riku's rule, presumably Wano Country would be no problem either.

"Hello, Fukurokuju-san." King Riku greeted him in a friendly manner.

He hadn't expected that right after losing his king position, he'd be doing a king's work in another country.

"I hope we work well together." Fukurokuju showed no dissatisfaction and began transferring duties after greeting him.

Just as King Riku was familiarizing himself with Wano Country's affairs, a bustling figure burst in.

"Kai, look! The newspaper reported on us!"

Yamato waved the newspaper in her hand, her excited voice carrying in from the corridor outside.

Kai took it and looked: "World Economic News?"

Was that guy Morgans so incredibly fast?

It had only been a few days since the war ended.

The front-page headline read: "The New World Hegemony Battle Between the Beast Pirates and Big Mom Pirates: Concluded!"

Kai couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his mouth.

So exaggerated?

It was just an intense conflict between officers from both sides, but under Morgans' pen it became elevated to a New World hegemony battle?

Worthy of someone who studied journalism professionally.

Kai continued reading, his eyes widening more and more, because Morgans' report of the entire war process was surprisingly close to the actual facts, at most using slightly exaggerated wording.

There were even several clear battlefield photos included.

How did that guy Morgans manage this!
