Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Dragon God Douluo!

"Teacher, I've brought him."

As Yan Shaozhe finished speaking, Zhu Ziyang's heart stirred with shock.

Teacher? Could it really be the legendary Dragon God Douluo? That renowned peerless powerhouse of the northern continent?

At the same moment, the previously closed wooden door swung open. A warm, spring-like radiance of light poured from within, accompanied by a gentle, aged voice that still carried a comforting warmth.

"Come in."

Zhu Ziyang followed Yan Shaozhe into Sea God Pavilion. The first thing he saw was a large hall with a long table and several wooden chairs. Without lingering, they proceeded straight up to the third floor. There, they entered a modestly sized wooden room. Its furnishings were simple: a wooden bed by the wall, a wooden Eight Immortals table in the center with four chairs, a bookshelf packed with books against one wall, and a wooden rocking chair by the window.

An elderly man lay quietly on the rocker, facing the window, bathed in sunlight. His presence radiated a natural, sacred aura that made others feel awe from deep within.

This sacred aura was subtle and well-balanced. If it had come from someone else, Yan Shaozhe might have found it pretentious. But for this elder, he believed it was deserved.

Because this man was Mu En.

"Teacher," Yan Shaozhe walked to the elder's side and respectfully cupped his hands.

Mu En turned his face slightly, smiling kindly with the gentleness unique to old age. After nodding at Yan Shaozhe, his cloudy gaze landed on Zhu Ziyang.

"Child, you've given me quite the pleasant surprise."

"You're the old man in front of the dormitory!" Zhu Ziyang's expression showed slight shock. His eyes widened slightly as he spoke.

"Hehe, you don't seem all that surprised to see me?" Mu En chuckled, a bit curious.

"The first time I saw you, I sensed a strong light aura from you. I knew you weren't an ordinary elder. What I didn't expect was that you're Dean Yan's teacher. That's the real surprise." Zhu Ziyang smiled with a hint of wonder, though his tone remained composed and analytical.

His gaze stayed calm, watching Mu En with curiosity and reflection.

"Hahaha, I see. No wonder they say your light is of the Ultimate kind!" Mu En chuckled, remembering the morning Zhu Ziyang had stared at him. His wrinkled face creased further from smiling.

"Teacher is the current Pavilion Master of Sea God Pavilion, the strongest of the three great Ultimate Douluo of this age, titled Dragon God. His full name is Mu En," Yan Shaozhe introduced with reverence, the look of admiration like that of a child toward a father.

"Dragon God?! You really are the legendary Dragon God Douluo!" Zhu Ziyang's face lit up with astonishment and excitement. He seemed momentarily at a loss, like a fan meeting his idol.

"Oh? Sounds like you've heard of this old man before?" Mu En's eyes twinkled as he laughed.

"Mhm!" Zhu Ziyang nodded vigorously, his hands clenched in excitement. It was a rare show of genuine emotion. Ironically, that authenticity was what truly made Mu En and Yan Shaozhe lower their guard. This was how a young man should behave — even if he was an extraordinary genius.

Zhu Ziyang didn't realize the effect his sincerity had. He continued, "In our Heaven Soul Empire, you're praised as the strongest Dragon Martial Soul Master in the world!"

"Haha, nothing but an empty title," Mu En waved it off lightly. He'd heard such praise many times, but hearing it from this pure, straightforward boy still brought him joy.

He smiled. "But you... you've truly made this old man envious. An Ultimate Light attribute, huh? Do you know that your martial soul is an Ultimate Martial Soul?"

"I do." Zhu Ziyang nodded. "My martial soul told me so."

"That saves a lot of trouble," Mu En replied, not surprised. After all, powerful martial souls often possessed a vague form of consciousness. He added, "Would you let this old man take a look at your martial soul?"

"Of course."

Zhu Ziyang raised his right hand, and the Stillness Fate Ending Scythe instantly appeared. Along with it, three soul rings lit up behind him, filling the modest-sized wooden room with radiance.

At the moment his martial soul was revealed, a ripple passed through Mu En's eyes. A trace of confusion rose in his heart. He suppressed it for now and focused his attention on the golden war scythe.

The more he observed, the more shocked he became. His body even stirred slightly from its reclined position. His cloudy eyes widened.

"Light and death — so perfectly fused!" Mu En murmured. "Child, may I ask what your martial soul is called?"

"Stillness Fate Ending Scythe."

"Stillness... Fate... Ending... What a name!" Mu En repeated softly.

"This is... a death attribute!" Yan Shaozhe also observed the martial soul carefully. This was only his second time seeing it, but now he finally sensed the death energy embedded within. His face showed disbelief.

In all his years, he'd never seen a martial soul that possessed both the Light attribute and the Death attribute. And not just any light — Ultimate Light!

"Teacher, this..." he turned to Mu En, only to be interrupted.

Mu En's gaze burned with intensity. The trace of hesitation he had vanished in an instant. He made up his mind.

"Child, would you be willing to take me as your teacher?"

From Zhu Ziyang's martial soul, Mu En saw not only the sacred brilliance of Ultimate Light but also the cold solitude of pure Death. Most astonishing was that this death aura lacked the vile, bloody stench of evil soul masters. Instead, it carried a faint sense of judgment and divine authority.

In that moment, Mu En realized — if Zhu Ziyang could grow to his full potential, it would spell the end of all evil soul masters on the continent. And with that, no force could threaten Shrek Academy's supremacy.

"You want to take me as your disciple?" Zhu Ziyang was dumbfounded. He stared at Mu En in disbelief.

"Why are you still standing there, silly boy? Kneel and accept your master!" Yan Shaozhe was beaming, patting Zhu Ziyang's arm and urging him on.

"Oh, right!" Zhu Ziyang, now thrilled, immediately knelt down and respectfully kowtowed.

"Disciple Zhu Ziyang pays respects to Teacher!"

"Hahaha!" Mu En finally couldn't help bursting into joyful laughter. He couldn't remember the last time he laughed so heartily.

He was truly delighted.

He sat upright, stretched out a hand, and called, "Good, good, good! Come here, child!"

Zhu Ziyang rose and walked closer.

Mu En reached out his withered hand and grasped Zhu Ziyang's. Instantly, Zhu Ziyang felt a gentle yet vast wave of soul power enter his body, flowing through his meridians and spreading into his limbs.

Startled, he looked at Mu En and saw a faint golden glow radiating from the old man, his expression filled with kindness.

Zhu Ziyang relaxed and closed his eyes, quietly sensing how this powerful soul force widened and strengthened his meridians.

Watching this, Yan Shaozhe couldn't help the envy flashing in his eyes.

A meridian cleansing from a 99th-rank Ultimate Douluo... even he had never received such treatment!

It was clear now — his teacher truly valued this new junior disciple.

With that thought, he silently exited the wooden room to summon the elders.

It had been a century since Mu En last accepted a disciple. This was a matter worthy of Sea God Pavilion's full attention.
