"That planet… it must have been destroyed by Vegeta…" Merus wiped the sweat from his brow.
What a hot temper.
So you lose a fight—does that mean you have to vent your anger on a planet?
And besides, once you blow up a planet, can you even survive drifting in space?
…
On a green planet, Vegeta had just unleashed a massive energy blast, slamming it down onto the surface.
The power of the attack tore straight through the ground, drilling into the planet's core and shattering it from within.
Raditz and Nappa, watching from the side, trembled uncontrollably in fear.
Seeing the planet erupt in towering flames, Nappa cried out, "Prince Vegeta, we need to hurry to the space pods and get out of here!"
"Yeah… we can't survive in the vacuum of space. Once the planet explodes, we're done for! This is insane!" Raditz said, half laughing, half crying.
The two immediately bolted toward their space pods.
Vegeta only snorted coldly and followed behind, unhurried.
As they flew toward their ships, pillars of blinding light burst upward from the planet's depths, spewing out scorching lava.
Vegeta effortlessly avoided the fiery eruptions.
Raditz, the weakest among them, wasn't so lucky. More than once, blazing droplets sprayed onto him, scorching his skin and making him howl in agony.
The air was thick with the stench of charred flesh.
Raditz nearly wished he were dead.
If their space pods were destroyed because of this, that would be a real tragedy.
The three soon arrived near the spherical pods.
Vegeta stepped onto his miniature ship without a hint of worry.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The three pods lifted off rapidly, shooting into the endless void of space.
Barely ten seconds after their departure—
"Rumble!!!"
The green planet collapsed entirely, bursting apart into brilliant colors across the cosmos.
…
Earth, Capsule Corporation Headquarters.
Dr. Brief had taken apart Ken's space pod and discovered a strange device resembling a communicator.
"What's this? Looks like some kind of transceiver… and it even has a tracking function…" Dr. Brief paused, leaning in to inspect more closely. He muttered, "It's broken. Looks like someone deliberately destroyed it."
He hesitated briefly.
"Forget it. I won't repair this one. Ken probably smashed it on purpose—to avoid being tracked."
With that, he tossed the device into a nearby trash bin.
After tinkering with the pod for a while longer, he went out to look for additional materials.
As soon as he left, Bulma skipped into the lab, humming her kindergarten graduation song.
She carefully examined the pod, running her hand along its surface.
"Hey, Ken, I finished making your ring. When are you coming back?" she asked, as if speaking to the ship.
But of course, the pod didn't respond.
"Hmph! Running off to other planets without me… I hate you!" Bulma pouted angrily.
"Tap tap tap!"
She ran toward the door but stopped short when passing the trash bin.
Blinking her big eyes, she stepped back and peered inside, spotting the odd little device her father had discarded.
Curiosity got the better of her. She picked it up and poked it with a screwdriver a few times.
"This really does look like a communicator… maybe if I fix it, I can talk to Ken again?" she whispered, carefully starting to pry it open.
Just then, Dr. Brief walked back in and immediately noticed what was in her hands.
"Bulma, that communicator—you picked it out of the trash, didn't you?" He adjusted his glasses.
"Yeah, Dad! So it is a communicator! If I repair it, can I contact Ken with it?" she asked eagerly.
"I won't stop you from trying to fix it… but don't tamper with the locator system. Otherwise, you could expose us to a precise signal trace." Dr. Brief picked up a schematic from the desk, reminding her sternly.
"Precise signal trace…" Bulma blinked.
"The locator was intentionally damaged. Most likely, Ken didn't want some alien to find him," Dr. Brief explained.
"I get it, I get it." Bulma nodded quickly, then asked, "If I only restore the communication system, it won't reveal our position, right?"
"Hard to say. Transmitting your voice still requires a signal burst. Unless you can rig it to broadcast with a fake coordinate, it's risky. If you attract some dangerous alien, we'd all be in trouble." Dr. Brief sipped his tea and turned back to studying the pod.
"So as long as I can make it transmit with false coordinates, it'll be fine?" Bulma scratched her head in thought.
"If you really do manage to repair it, bring it to me first before you turn it on," Dr. Brief said, setting down his cup.
"I'll give it a try," Bulma answered, nodding firmly.
…
In the endless void of space.
Merus stood alone in a small chamber.
"Snap!"
He raised his hand, and an Angel's staff instantly appeared within his grasp.
The next moment, he lifted it high.
"Shhh!"
From the staff burst a dazzling radiance, shining like countless stars.
The brilliance quickly enveloped the entire mid-sized spacecraft.
"Whoosh!"
In an instant, the ship pierced through the cosmos, flickered a few times, and then emerged within the divine realm.
Just like that, Merus had shifted the vessel directly from the mortal universe into the Sacred World.
A little farther ahead lay the planet where the Supreme Kai resided.
Merus let out a slight breath of relief and lowered his staff.
Outside—
"Huh?" Broly turned his head toward the window, scratching his head as he sensed something strange. The world outside seemed to have changed.
Ken too stared intently, his eyes fixed on the view beyond.
He could feel it—the odd shift of reality itself.
Not only that, he also sensed the vast, overwhelming Angelic power that Merus had just released.
As expected of an apprentice Angel.
I'm still far beneath him.
So… does this mean I'll be meeting Whis soon?
Excitement and anticipation stirred within Ken's chest.
Then, as he gazed farther ahead, he noticed a planet emerging in the distance.
He blinked.
Where was the inverted-triangle planet supposed to be? And this one in front… why did it feel so familiar, like he'd seen it somewhere before?
Where was Merus really taking him? Wasn't the destination supposed to be Beerus' planet?
