Beep beep!
Vegeta suddenly picked up a power-level reading.
"Ten thousand?!" Vegeta immediately rose from the wooden stump he had been sitting on. His expression grew serious as he looked up toward the sky.
High above, a strangely designed spaceship was slowly descending.
"That is…?" Vegeta was slightly stunned. The ship's appearance was unusual.
The power level of ten thousand he had just detected was coming from inside that very ship.
Who's here? Whose ship is this?
It was worth noting that although Vegeta's old scouter had been destroyed, after reuniting with Nappa and Raditz, he had obtained a new one.
To Vegeta, however, ten thousand wasn't much.
But it was enough for him to pay some attention.
Inside the spaceship.
"What's this…?" Merus looked outside at Vegeta with curiosity.
"That's the prince of the Saiyans, His Highness Vegeta," Ken explained.
"So that's it. In that case, we should at least greet him—that's basic courtesy," Merus said. Then he added, "I won't be going out, though."
"No problem," Ken nodded.
Creak!
The hatch opened.
Ken stepped out with Broly following him, descending slowly from the spaceship.
Merus remained inside.
This planet looked rather primitive—covered with lush forests and greenery, with fresh air.
The humans on this world had only recently developed intelligence, yet their physical strength was already formidable, with average power levels easily exceeding 100.
Such a planet would be dangerous if its people ever tried to invade Earth.
More importantly, the planet was rich in resources.
That was the reason Vegeta and his group had come to conquer it.
Only resource-rich planets were deemed worthy of being taken by Frieza's forces.
Above the planet, a full round moon hung in the green sky, radiating holy light.
Vegeta instantly recognized the two figures stepping out of the spaceship.
"Tch, so it's you, Ken?" Vegeta sneered, then his eyes narrowed on Broly. "This guy… he's a Saiyan too. No wonder he's packing such a strong power level."
"Vegeta, are you doing alright?" Ken asked with concern.
"Hmph! Of course!" Vegeta snorted. "Even without your so-called healing, I'd still be soaring through the universe! See this planet? Nappa, Raditz, and I just finished cleaning it up!"
"Vegeta, I told you to keep a peaceful heart… but you still treat it like empty words," Ken sighed, shaking his head lightly.
"Don't joke with me. A peaceful heart means nothing compared to real power," Vegeta said dismissively. "I told you, I'll get stronger in my own way! But you, Ken—why are you here? Thinking of joining my squad? Hah, I'll have to think hard about that!"
"Speak properly. Don't be rude!" Broly suddenly barked.
He had endured long enough.
Last time someone spoke disrespectfully to Ken, he had beaten them half to death.
And now this guy dared shout at Ken? Unacceptable.
Broly could now string together four words—a huge improvement for him.
Hearing Broly speak, Vegeta shot him a cold, disdainful glance.
"Ken, where'd you dig up a Saiyan with a power level of ten thousand?" Vegeta chuckled. "I've got to admit, you've got an eye for talent. I thought the only survivors were just us few… never expected another one. Hmph! If Planet Vegeta still existed, this one would've been an elite warrior."
"Let me introduce you." Ken patted Broly's shoulder, calming him down. "This is Broly."
"Broly? That does sound like a Saiyan's name," Vegeta nodded. Then he smirked. "But you, Ken… your name has no Saiyan traits at all. Let me tell you something—our names are usually generated by a computer system. When yours came up, the system must've glitched. That's how you ended up with such a ridiculous name. Ken, I almost pity you."
Ken: "…"
So that's why my name was different.
It wasn't fate—it was a system error.
"Well, I actually like my name," Ken said casually.
It's just a name. Having a "Saiyan" name doesn't make you a true Saiyan.
Besides, I'll become a god, an Angel.
I deserve a godlike name.
"By the way, was your name randomly generated too?" Ken asked.
"Of course not," Vegeta said proudly, pointing at himself with his thumb. "My name comes directly from Planet Vegeta itself. After all, I'm the most gifted warrior of the Saiyan race! Being named after our homeworld is only fitting. Hahaha! Ken, you must regret wasting time on that Ultra Instinct nonsense!"
Ken didn't bother replying.
Broly, on the other hand, was itching for a fight, clenching his fists and sneaking pleading looks at Ken.
His expression all but begged: Please let me smash him.
If not, he was going to explode from holding back.
"By the way, how come you've switched spaceships again? Where'd you get this one?" Vegeta asked suspiciously.
"That's not important," Ken said flatly.
"Not important? Return my ship, you bastard! You've never shown respect to me—the Prince of all Saiyans! Believe it or not, I'll pound you into the dirt!" Vegeta shouted, pointing at him.
Broly scratched at his head, pacing impatiently in circles.
Ken glanced at him.
Broly's eager eyes stared right back.
"Don't hit too hard. And don't tear anyone in half this time," Ken warned.
Broly's face lit up—he nodded excitedly, promising restraint.
"What's this? You're sending him against me?" Vegeta laughed coldly. "Bring it on, then!"
Whoosh!
The moment the words left his mouth, Broly came roaring toward him like a storm.
Vegeta reacted instantly, dodging the attack with a quick sidestep.
