"It's handled. I've successfully subdued the two Saiyans who came to Earth," Jaco said with a proud grin.
Irico looked at him in shock, clearly stunned. "You did?"
"Hehe, well, that's why I'm called an elite," Jaco said smugly.
"As expected of Officer Jaco… Truly impressive," Irico said with admiration. "How old are those two Saiyans?"
"They're both only five years old," Jaco replied truthfully.
"I see… So they weren't that powerful then?" Irico let out a small sigh of relief.
"No. One of them is very strong," Jaco said seriously, lowering his voice. "It took a lot of persuasion to get him to cooperate."
"Persuasion?" Irico looked confused. "Wait… You can talk a Saiyan into cooperating?"
"Not important," Jaco brushed it off, changing the subject. "Is Officer Merus around?"
"He's here," Irico replied.
"Patch me through to him. I need to talk to him about something."
"Understood." Irico transferred the call to Merus's quarters.
Soon, Merus's image appeared on Jaco's screen.
"Jaco, what's up?" Merus asked politely.
"Merus… you might want to go into hiding," Jaco said in a hushed voice.
"Hiding?" Merus blinked.
"Yeah. Just make up an excuse and step out for a bit," Jaco urged.
"What's going on, Jaco?" Merus asked, frowning.
"There's a Saiyan who wants to see you," Jaco said gravely.
"A Saiyan? You mean from that warrior race?" Merus immediately caught on.
"That's right," Jaco nodded.
"If he wants to meet me, then let him. Why should I hide?" Merus smiled calmly.
"There are two Saiyans from Earth. One of them seems pretty average… but his companion is terrifyingly powerful. Even though that one's just five years old…" Jaco's tone darkened, his eyes filled with lingering fear.
"Did he say what he wants to talk to me about?" Merus asked.
"No, just said he wants a chat," Jaco replied.
"That's fine then. I'll talk with him," Merus said with a gentle smile. "Not all Saiyans are bad."
"Well, I passed along the warning. If you get your face smashed in, don't blame me," Jaco huffed.
"Relax, nothing will happen," Merus said confidently. Then he added, "By the way, you probably haven't heard—Planet Vegeta, where the Saiyans lived, has been destroyed."
"Planet Vegeta's gone?! Finally, justice from the heavens!" Jaco exclaimed in delight. "Serves them right after all their atrocities. What happened—how did it blow up?"
"They say it was hit by a giant meteor," Merus replied. "But the truth is otherwise."
"Oh? Then what really caused it?" Jaco asked, surprised.
"According to our investigation, it was Frieza himself who destroyed Planet Vegeta," Merus said solemnly.
"Frieza, the Emperor of the Universe?!" Jaco shouted in shock, quickly glancing behind him.
Thankfully, the spaceship was soundproof, so no one overheard. He took a deep breath of relief.
"But why? Weren't the Saiyans working for Frieza as his soldiers? Why would he destroy them?" Jaco asked curiously.
"Because Frieza feared the potential of a Super Saiyan or even a Super Saiyan God emerging among them," Merus revealed.
"Super Saiyan? Super Saiyan God? What's that?" Jaco was growing even more curious.
"They're said to be the most powerful warriors in the universe," Merus explained with a calm smile.
"So, a Super Saiyan could challenge Frieza's position as emperor, and that's why he wiped them out… Makes sense," Jaco nodded thoughtfully.
"Exactly," Merus agreed. "Now, there are fewer than ten Saiyans left in the universe."
"They got what they deserved. Saiyans conquered plenty of planets and slaughtered countless innocent people," Jaco said, showing no sympathy.
Indeed, the Saiyans had followed Frieza for years, seizing planets and leaving trails of destruction behind them.
"That's the cruelty of the Saiyans…" Merus nodded lightly.
"Cruelty? You're right. Their evil is plain for all to see," Jaco said.
"I believe there are still good-hearted Saiyans," Merus said quietly.
"Don't joke. There's no such thing as a kind-hearted Saiyan," Jaco scoffed. "They're all born evil."
Just as they were talking, Irico's transmission suddenly cut in.
"That guy again? Why's he butting in now?" Jaco grumbled, but tapped the accept button anyway.
Irico's face appeared on the other side of the screen. Now it had turned into a three-way video call.
"Irico, what is it? Something wrong?" Jaco asked.
"Jaco, we've got a problem," Irico said urgently. "A spaceship from the Frieza Force is heading your way. At this rate, it'll cross paths with your ship in about two minutes."
"A Frieza Force ship?" Jaco blinked. "Is Frieza himself on it?"
"No, it's not Frieza," Irico shook his head.
"Well that's a relief. Probably just some scouts or something, right?" Jaco guessed.
"No, not scouts," Irico said gravely. "It's someone extremely dangerous."
"Who?" Jaco's voice trembled slightly.
"Ize," Irico said, spitting out the name.
"Ize? Who's that? Some big shot?" Jaco was confused.
"Frieza's son," Irico replied, his tone heavy.
"Wh-what?! Frieza has a son?! Since when?!" Jaco cried out in shock.
"He's had one for quite a while…" Irico explained. "The Frieza Clan belongs to the Frost Demon race. After his son was born, he was frozen on their homeworld. It's said that the longer they remain in stasis, the stronger they become. Frieza was frozen for five years. His brother, Cooler, for six. Ize was only frozen for three… but it seems he couldn't wait and broke out early."
