Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 – Broly: Good Dragon, No Punch!

"You've been to Namek?" Shenron looked at Ken with surprise.

"Yes," Ken nodded, answering truthfully. "I also gained the ability to survive in the vacuum of space through Namek's Shenron."

"As far as I know, the Namekian Shenron can grant three wishes. Why didn't you just ask him to give Broly the ability to survive in space?" Shenron asked curiously.

"Are you here to grant wishes or to interrogate me?" Ken rolled his eyes.

Shenron: "…"

You're the one who started chatting… Now it's my fault?

"Very well, I'll grant your wish now," Shenron said with a nod. "The ability to survive in the vacuum of space includes, but is not limited to, enduring the void of space and other extreme environments like the Null Realm."

As he spoke, divine power flashed in Shenron's eyes and quickly enveloped Broly.

Broly looked down at himself, then scratched his head.

"Good… good dragon! No punch!" Broly gave Shenron a big thumbs-up.

Shenron: "…"

So if I hadn't granted your wish, you were planning to beat me up?!

Sweat the size of beans rolled down Shenron's dragon face.

"Your wish has been granted. Farewell," Shenron said, and his massive body dispersed. The seven Dragon Balls immediately rose into the air.

Ken casually waved his hand.

At that moment, a flicker of Divine ki shimmered from his palm and surged toward the seven departing Dragon Balls.

As they sensed Ken's Divine ki, the orbs were forcibly redirected mid-flight.

Plop!

Six of the Dragon Balls scattered to locations across the world, but one of them curved down and landed just outside Bulma's storage building.

The stone-transformed Dragon Ball rolled a few times and settled in an inconspicuous spot.

"Eh? Ken, it looks like the Dragon Balls flew off," Bulma said in surprise as she watched them disappear.

"Yeah. After granting a wish, the Dragon Balls turn to stone and scatter across the globe. They'll reactivate in a year," Ken explained.

"So we'll have to wait a year to make another wish?" Bulma blinked her big, sparkling eyes.

"That's right." Ken nodded.

Kame House.

Master Roshi was doing stretches on the beach—raising his arms, bending his back, waving his cane.

"Left three punches, right three punches, twist your neck, twist your hips—party like you're in the club tonight~" he hummed shamelessly while working out.

Fwoosh!

Just then, he felt something hurtling toward him.

"Huh?" Roshi paused in confusion. Without hesitation, he raised his cane to block.

BANG!

A Dragon Ball-turned-stone smashed into his cane, snapping it instantly.

THUD! The stone then bounced off his head, knocking him flat on his back.

It rolled a bit more and tumbled right into his house.

Roshi: "…"

He rubbed his aching forehead, face twisted in pain.

"Why the heck is it raining stones?!" he muttered, scratching his head and limping back inside. That's when he noticed the smooth, round stone lying there.

He was completely baffled.

"What the heck is this? Such a round rock!" he mumbled. "Why would a rock like this drop from the sky and land in my house?"

Then his expression darkened. He glared at the stone and started stomping it furiously.

"I'll crush you! I'll crush you!"

One minute later…

Limping, Master Roshi tossed the rock onto the beach outside.

East City outskirts.

Lapis had just finished retying the sandbag and was about to start training again.

Fwoosh!

A smooth round stone shot down from the sky and slammed into the sandbag.

BANG!

With a loud explosion, the sandbag burst open, sand spilling everywhere.

Terrified, Lapis burst into tears.

"What's going on?!" Lazuli ran out from her room.

"A rock fell from the sky!" Lapis pointed at the smooth round stone in the yard.

"A rock fell from the sky?" Lazuli picked up the stone and stared up in confusion.

"Y-yeah, that's the one," Lapis nodded, still trembling.

"Was it that alien again?" Lazuli pouted and huffed.

"That stupid alien's always scaring me. Just wait—when I grow up, I'll make him pay!" Lapis clenched his fists, face full of childish fury.

Mount Paozu.

Inside Grandpa Gohan's home.

Grandpa Gohan was sleeping while holding Kakarot in his arms.

THUD!

A smooth stone crashed at the doorstep with a muffled thump.

Startled, Grandpa Gohan sat up, glancing toward the door.

"What was that?"

Kakarot, still half-asleep, opened his dazed eyes. Upon seeing Grandpa Gohan's face, he immediately launched another scratch attack.

"Hey, easy there! That's three times in just a few hours…" Grandpa Gohan said, exasperated but amused.

"Hehehe!" Kakarot laughed carefree, clearly delighted.

Still giggling, he dove back under the blanket and fell fast asleep again.

"This kid… such a wild temper," Grandpa Gohan chuckled with a loving look. "Poor little guy… abandoned by your parents at such a young age… Was it because of the tail on your back? Strange… seems like tails are all the rage lately. That other powerful kid had one too."

He spoke to himself while getting up to check the noise.

Outside, he found the smooth, round stone embedded in the ground.

"Where'd this rock come from?" he muttered, examining it. He looked up at the sky. "Did it fall from above?"

Shaking his head in confusion, he returned to bed.

Kakarot, still asleep, shifted and laid his head on Grandpa Gohan's thigh, grinding his teeth as he dozed.

A sudden chill ran down Grandpa Gohan's spine.

Please don't mistake my thigh for a drumstick.

He quickly pulled on an extra thick pair of pants.
