Kross knew taking Lyra to see her grandfather in the state he was was too heartless and coldblooded.
He reasoned it was better to tell her so she could get over with it sooner. Grief was hard to cope with.
Now she looked too bad. She was emotionless. She wasn't the same girl who begged and cried, and looked at him with scared eyes. Something in her looked broken.
He wasn't going to answer that question.
Kross kept quiet. If he talked to her, he had to tell her what happened to her grandfather. It was better to not tell her than to tell her lest she started crying.
He didn't want to deal with that.
He put on his cold expression and closed his eyes as he leaned his head back.
