Chapter 31 - 31

I've never seen such an annoying guy. I'd bet if he were on the battlefield, he would have been shot by his Officer countless times already!"

Steve paced back and forth in the living room of Dr. Schiller's psychology clinic. With his hands on his hips and fists clenched, he loudly expressed his opinion, looking like an enraged lion. His military demeanor was on full display.

Steve said, "I really should have given him a body slam to see if his damn Iron Man Suit would be as brittle as glass!"

Why was Steve so angry? It all started last night…

Last night, Peter finished his final exams. Of course, he was itching to wander around New York. He had been cooped up for weeks studying and desperately missed the feeling of zipping through the cool breeze high above New York.

However, recently, his relationship with Gwen had been heating up quickly. After the exams, Gwen naturally invited him to a party. Gwen felt Peter was a bit too reclusive and should interact more with his classmates, so she insisted on dragging him along to the post-exam celebration party.

Peter really wanted to be a Super Hero, but a gentle embrace is a hero's grave. He really liked Gwen too much. There was nothing he could do; ultimately, Peter accepted Gwen's invitation, and the two happily went to the party.

Schiller wasn't the only one who could predict Little Spider would be out and about after the exams; there was also the genius Tony Stark.

Stark had a legitimate reason to find Little Spider. Peter's self-developed Silk web-shooters had shown Stark his research potential. He planned to talk to Peter about interning at Stark Industries during his vacation, and Stark could also make him a Spider-Man Suit along the way.

Although Stark was very arrogant, he also knew his limits. He knew he couldn't drive his Iron Man Suit into Little Spider's school; that would be too shocking. So he was waiting for Peter to finish his exams and come out to wander, and then the two could meet again in the skies of New York City.

He had planned it very well, but unfortunately, Peter chose dating over his Super Hero career. Iron Man hovered in the New York sky for a long time but didn't see the figure swinging between the tall buildings.

Although he didn't encounter Spider-Man, coincidentally, another person also looking for Spider-Man's figure bumped into him.

Captain America could jump between various tall buildings even without the aid of Silk. He was not like Peter, that young punk. Captain America's strength had been honed through countless trials, and his control over his body was stronger than anyone else's.

Before he could find the kid who swung around, as Schiller described, he saw a golden-red, very flashy mech flying towards him.

Steve stopped on the roof of a tall building. The mech hovered in mid-air, and a voice came from the opposite side:

"Look, another little hero from who knows where. Isn't one swinging Spider-Man kid enough in New York? What's your codename? Aryan Superman?"

Steve said, "I thought modern people would be a bit more polite. So who are you? An Iron Warrior in a turtle shell?"

"You don't know Iron Man? Where are you from, old-timer? Don't tell me you were dazzled by the brilliance of my cool mech, haha."

Iron Man was indeed somewhat famous in New York now. Although Stark's rescues were often simple and crude, his mech suit was truly cool. Countless onlookers recorded Iron Man's heroic posture, and there was even a small group of fans who specifically organized a website, which made him quite famous throughout the United States.

"I am indeed an old-timer," Steve said.

"But at least I know people should be polite. Before speaking, shouldn't you tell me your name first?"

Stark didn't mind revealing his true identity because he could also tell that the person in front of him possessed special abilities; after all, ordinary people couldn't jump dozens of meters in a single leap.

Since they were both in the same line of work, there was nothing to hide. He said, "As you can see, I am Stark. Who else but the Master of Stark Industries could develop such a powerful mech?"

Steve's expression suddenly changed. He said, "You're Stark?… Your last name is Stark?"

"Then what's your relationship with Howard Stark?"

The mech opposite landed. He said, "Don't mention that name to me, you weirdo. What does that have to do with me?"

"You have no relation to him, yet you inherited Stark Industries… " Steve's expression grew even stranger.

Before Stark could continue to mock him, he was hit by a massive force and flew backward.

Indeed, Captain America was not like Little Spider now. In the comics, he had shattered Stark's mech more than once. Stark's current mech had not undergone several modifications and upgrades yet, and Iron Man was far from his peak, but Captain America, he always remained at his peak.

A string of sparks burst from inside the Mark 5, and Jarvis was sounding an emergency alarm. Stark, shocked, tried to manipulate the mech to break free. He had never encountered such a monster. Steve's strength even made the advanced metal alloy shell as brittle as a cookie.

Steve held him by the waist, pinning Stark to the ground. Then he swung his fist, and the mech's faceplate was shattered in a few punches. Jarvis frantically sounded the alarm, and Stark angrily shouted, "Direct electrocution!!"

Jarvis said, "A burst of current will lead to the mech being scrapped."

"I said, activate the electrocution directly!"

With a bang, the Mark 5 emitted brilliant electric sparks all over its body, and Steve was directly knocked away. Stark fared even worse; he was ejected from the mech and fell to the ground.

Both of them were blackened, their hair standing on end from the electricity.

"You damn thief!" Steve said.

Stark said, "You lunatic! Why did you suddenly attack? I don't even know you!"

"But Old Stark and I are friends!"

Steve quickly stood up. He grabbed Stark's collar and said, "How exactly did you get Stark Industries? Where did Howard's descendants go? What did you do to him?"

Jarvis suddenly said in Stark's earphone, "According to the micro-expression analysis logic provided by Doctor Schiller, there might be a huge misunderstanding here."

Stark immediately turned off his earphones and said, "In this situation, do we still need to read micro-expressions?!"

He looked at Steve, and even though he was being held by the collar, he still shook his head arrogantly and said, "I suspect you don't understand English. When did I say I had no relation to Howard…"

Steve looked at him with an expression like he was looking at an idiot, as if he were a forgetful elderly dementia patient.

"Damn it! I did say that, but I didn't mean it that way!"

Stark turned his eyes to the side. He reluctantly admitted, "He's my father, but my genius creations have nothing to do with him…"

Steve swung his hand forward, throwing Stark to the ground, making him yelp in pain.

Steve crossed his arms and said, "You're nothing like Howard. Your father was a brave warrior, and you, do you know how annoying you are?"

Indeed, Stark's arrogance was ingrained in his bones; no one who saw him would think he was an easy person to get along with.

Stark sat up and loudly said, "Are you a hysteric? How could you possibly know my father? Is it something from a past life?"

Steve was too lazy to explain to him. After coming out tonight, he didn't encounter his target but ran into Howard's descendant, and his old friend's descendant seemed to have gone astray, which made Steve feel very annoyed.

Suddenly, Steve heard a whoosh, but being immersed in thought, his reaction was a bit slow. A mech directly grabbed him and rushed out, throwing him downstairs.

Such a height couldn't kill Captain America. Steve rolled twice upon landing, then saw Stark on the rooftop, looking at him with a mocking expression. Then the new mech armed itself onto him, the faceplate lifted, and Stark said, "It seems you might indeed be friends with my father, after all, my friends wouldn't be as slow to react as you."

After speaking, he flew away.

Steve was so angry he slammed his fist hard on the ground.

And so, the scene of Steve angrily cursing Stark in Schiller's psychology clinic occurred.

If Stark were just a stranger, Steve certainly wouldn't be so angry, but he had fought alongside Howard. The thought of his old friend's son turning out like this made Steve both angry and a little ashamed, feeling he hadn't fulfilled his educational responsibility.

After Steve left, Coulson called Schiller.

"Doctor Schiller, I must admit, my previous praise might have contained some polite elements, but now it absolutely does not."

"Captain suddenly became energetic. As soon as he returned, he ran to the training room and beat up a dozen coaches. Director Nick Fury talked to him about preparing a special operations team, and he readily agreed, even requesting the bureau to prepare a special training room for him."

"My God, Captain America, he's reborn!"

Schiller smiled and said, "The emotions that drive people to be proactive and positive don't necessarily have to be a sense of responsibility or lofty ideals; it can also be anger."

Coulson said somewhat confused, "Captain seems a bit angry. What happened to him? Did he run into some trouble?"

"He does have a little trouble, but that's not something you guys can solve."

With that, Schiller hung up the phone. His doorbell rang. Peter, wearing his school uniform jacket and carrying his backpack, opened the clinic door and waved at Schiller, saying, "Hey! Doctor, you absolutely won't believe what a great party I just attended…"

Schiller looked him over. Peter had clearly been drinking and must have just returned from the party. He probably reeked of alcohol and didn't dare go home, so he came to him. Schiller said, "You really should thank Stark; he took a beating for you…"

Little Spider said with a bewildered expression, "What?"
