Chapter 7 - Training

SPLASH!

A new superhero suddenly fell from the ceiling and landed in the murky water with a splash beside Type-AB.

She wore an all-red supersuit, with a black circle at the chest with a golden thunderbolt on it. Even in the darkness, Antonio could make out the curves of her body.

The way the bottom half wrapped out the thick, yet muscular width of her thighs.

The way the top half struggled to hold her generous breasts in place, constantly bouncing with every movement of her body.

The way her waist was thin, yet her hips were wide, displaying an hourglass figure that would be desired by many women.

Her hair was curly and red, falling down to her lower back, and her eyes were of the same colour. On her face was a seductive smile, one that screamed of invitation.

Antonio could only stand there, looking at her with awe.

"Alright kid, you can stop staring," Type-AB said with a raised brow. "Lightning Leg is out of your league. She even refuses to sleep with me."

Antonio gulped. He hadn't realised that his admiration was so obvious.

Suddenly, Lightning Leg stepped forward, slowly circling around Antonio. Her red eyes looked him up and down, weighing his might. Her round behind swayed with every step.

"I don't know... I like this man. He's cute... in an innocent way." She spoke, tone filled with seduction.

"What?" Type-AB retorted. "You told me you don't like men?"

Lightning Leg flashed him a side-eye. "You seriously believed that? I just didn't want you... or any of the others for that matter."

Type-AB palmed his face and shook his head in embarrassment.

"Anyways... Put Antonio here through the works. Test his combat abilities whilst I guide him through utilising his powers."

My combat abilities? Don't I have a say in th—

"Sure thing. Should I aim to kill him, or just severely injure him?"

"Hmm, injury should be enough. Afterwards, we can have him recover and go again."

"Sure."

"..."

What?

Only a moment later, Lightning Leg dashed forward. The distance between them was closed in merely an instant, and her palm landed into Antonio's core.

He felt the wind leave his lungs, as he was sent tumbling backwards in the water. As he came to a stop, he was gasping for air.

Lightning Leg stood there, flicking a strand of curly red hair from her face and striking a pose of sarcastic surprise.

"I'm sorry. Were you not ready?" She chimed.

Antonio managed to push himself to his feet after regaining enough energy. After sensing the danger, he entered a basic mixed martial arts stance.

Type-AB nodded his head on the sidelines. "Good, good. Show us what you can do."

With a surge of determination, Antonio sprinted towards Lightning Leg. With D rank speed, it took a while for him to close the distance, and even once he was in range, his first strike was sluggish.

Unlike in the physical exam, this hero didn't go too easy on him. After all, it was Lightning Leg. A hero that Antonio knew very well.

Roughly six months ago, there was a well-known event now known as The Subjugation. A squad of young heroes with potential had gone wild in the State of Never York.

These heroes were seen as the future of the state, with potential to end up as high rankers, so rather than marking them as rogue and making them supervillains, the Hero Association had sent out a squad to subjugate them and bring them in safely for rehabilitation.

Lightning Leg was a part of this squad and swore to do her mission.

However, it was said that she killed one of the rogue heroes, Beetleboy, and was forced to go rogue ever since.

...

Antonio took a beating. Every strike was dodged with ease and countered by rapid palms to his stomach and chest.

With every exchange, he felt his body being drained of its energy. Eventually, he landed on his back in the dirty water, with Type-AB standing over him.

"It's time to adapt." He said, Good arm crossed over his prosthetic. "That thing on your stomach, tell me what it does."

With a groan, Antonio barely managed to reply. "It neutralises and stores contaminants, allowing me to turn them into Purification Energy."

Somehow, he could tell that the core was a quarter full from the toxins he had consumed from Type-AB's blood. It seemed to be able to store a lot.

Both Type-AB and Lightning Leg shared a glance, nodding their heads.

"Okay handsome, so why haven't you used it against me?" Lightning Leg said, the same hand resting on her hips that she used to pommel him with.

Antonio struggled to his feet, asking himself the same question.

Why haven't I used it?

We went over the Mutations details in his head. There was a lot to take in, but one thing was more obvious than everything else.

His ability to use Purification Energy had been empowered, as long as he had filtered toxins stored in the red core in his stomach.

If he used his abilities now, they should be strong enough to do more than just clean dirt.

Antonio focused on the core in his stomach. As he did, the red organ glowed brighter, its veins travelling through his body and spreading warmth through his bones.

If he focused further, he felt as though he could direct the energy through his body. It was a difficult process, but after outstretching both hands towards Lighting Leg, the energy was able to find its way.

Then, suddenly, an uncontrollable force left his hands. He had released the cleaning waves before, but now, they were powerful.

A blast of pure energy erupted from his palms. Its essence was like a white cloud, mixed with a shade of pink and blue.

The blast cleaned the area it travelled through, before crashing into the wide eyes of Lightning Leg. She stumbled backwards, only slightly, before regathering her balance. Her mouth hung open slightly as she stared at Antonio.

Antonio however, was looking down at his palms. They sparked slightly with sanitised energy.

"Incredible... my powers aren't useless." He muttered to himself.

"Of course they aren't," Type-AB spoke from the sidelines. "You're your father's child after all."

Then, Lightning Leg entered her fighter's stance again, though this time, it seemed to favour a style more suited towards kicking.

"And we've only just begun." She hissed seductively. "I've still got a lot more juice that I want to squeeze out of you."
