Chapter 7 - The First Monster Friend

"Do you want to suck my blood?"

As Dex's words fell, Akashiya Moka couldn't help but widen her eyes.

Although she was surprised by Dex's proposal, she couldn't help but feel tempted in her heart.

Her rationality was still trying hard to restrain this instinctive desire.

Akashiya Moka looked at Dex with some confusion.

Based on her understanding of humans, this was obviously difficult to comprehend.

"The reason is simple—I want to become friends with you."

"Although we haven't known each other long, I think you're trustworthy."

"And right now you look like you're suffering."

"If sucking a little blood can make you feel better, Moka, I think that's completely fine."

Then he continued in a joking tone: "Just don't suck all my blood dry."

Akashiya Moka stared blankly at Dex, her pupils trembling slightly.

These words seemed to echo continuously in her ears.

Up to now, she had been hiding her identity and studying at a human school for a full three years of middle school.

Yet she didn't have even one true human friend.

She hated this, and had even begun to hate humans in her heart.

She had already planned to return to a school founded by monsters.

She didn't reject Dex, who was human, for two reasons.

First, because Dex didn't seem to dislike monsters.

Second, she was influenced by the desire for his blood within her body.

Her agreement to take a walk together was also because she had developed the thought of wanting more contact with Dex.

She hadn't expected Dex to actually want to become friends with her.

This gave her an indescribable feeling of pleasant surprise.

She even temporarily suppressed her craving for Dex's blood.

Multiple emotions intertwined like a ball of yarn.

For a moment, she didn't know how to react.

She just stared blankly at Dex, her eyes seeming to glow.

The corners of her mouth lifted slightly, and a smile she herself hadn't noticed bloomed like a flower on her delicate face.

Taking in all of Akashiya Moka's emotional changes, Dex's smile couldn't help but become more brilliant.

A strange atmosphere quietly permeated the surrounding air.

"Come on, I don't mind."

Dex smiled slightly, tilted his head to the right, and gently patted his exposed neck twice with his left hand.

Hearing this, Akashiya Moka came to her senses, her bright emerald eyes gradually taking on a wine-red tint.

Without saying much more, she directly lunged forward, pouncing onto Dex and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Akashiya Moka opened her red lips, revealing gradually lengthening fangs, and bit down without hesitation.

He only felt his neck itch for a moment, with no pain at all.

He could clearly sense his blood, which contained spiritual energy, being rapidly absorbed by Akashiya Moka.

At the same time, he also saw that much of Akashiya Moka's pink hair had turned silver-white.

Could it be that the current Akashiya Moka was actually in a peculiar state where her outer and inner personalities coexisted?

Her red-tinged green eyes returned to normal, and the silver-white strands instantly reverted to pink.

Akashiya Moka hurriedly released her hands and stepped back two paces with a red face.

Her gaze flickered, occasionally drifting to Dex.

When she met Dex's gaze, she felt her heart pounding.

As if there was a little deer inside frantically bumping around.

Seeing this, Dex couldn't help but smile, touching with his left hand the spot on his neck where Akashiya Moka had bitten him while sucking his blood.

Although about 500 milliliters of blood had been sucked, Dex didn't feel even a bit uncomfortable.

Even if another 500 milliliters were sucked, it would be fine.

Mainly, the spiritual energy in his body had decreased by about one percent.

Suppressing various thoughts in his heart, Dex looked at Akashiya Moka.

"Moka, we should be friends now, right? After all, you've already sucked my blood."

Akashiya Moka was stunned, looking at Dex with a strange expression.

Then she smiled and said: "If you're unwilling to be friends with me, just pretend I didn't say anything."

As if worried Dex might misunderstand, Akashiya Moka hurriedly explained:

"I'm just a bit worried that you mind my identity."

"I've been at a human school for three years, and other humans simply don't believe monsters really exist."

"They're even quite resistant to discussing topics about monsters."

So he smiled and said: "Don't worry, I'm different from others—I don't mind that you're a monster."

"If I minded, I wouldn't have actively let you suck my blood."

"So then, my first monster friend, please take care of me."

Akashiya Moka's eyes filled with joy, her smile blooming like a flower as she extended her soft right hand to grasp Dex's hand.

Their right hands clasped together, their eyes meeting.

Looking at Dex, besides joy, Akashiya Moka felt a subtle emotion quietly arising in her heart.

After receiving the prompt from the Universal Catalog, the arc of Dex's upturned mouth couldn't help but rise a few more degrees.

The method to illuminate catalog entries was to establish some kind of relationship with the other party.

Establishing friendly relationships required creating bonds with the other party, such as friends, lovers, or family.

For example, the most basic friendship required both parties to sincerely regard each other as friends.

Once successfully established, the catalog would automatically illuminate.

As long as someone harbored malice toward Dex, it would automatically establish.

For targets with hostile relationships, there were two ways to illuminate the catalog.

One was to transform the relationship into a friendly one.

Currently, Dex had established friendships with both Satania and Akashiya Moka, easily illuminating their catalog entries.

Dex looked at their still-clasped right hands, then at Akashiya Moka, smiling slightly as he said:

"Moka, although I don't mind, are you planning to keep holding my hand like this forever?"

He could sense Akashiya Moka's right hand applying slight pressure, giving the feeling that she didn't want to let go.
