Gao Ziyue took several seconds to respond, as though she were emerging from a deep dream. When she finally looked away from the egg, there was a gentle glow in her eyes, a light Kyrian had never seen before.
She nodded, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yes."
She remained silent for a few moments before continuing, as though trying to find the right words to describe something she did not yet fully understand.
"I think... it chose me before it was even born."
Kyrian tilted his head slightly, genuine curiosity written across his face.
She smiled sheepishly, a smile that was almost shy.
"It sounds strange to say that..." She looked back toward the stage, toward the egg glowing beneath the lights.
"But some spiritual beasts possess a very special sensitivity. Even before they hatch, they can already sense the presence of certain people, as though there were an affinity that transcends rational understanding."
Her smile grew softer, more personal.
