Sacred World of the Kai.
"Alright, kid. Explain it to me. How did you end up in this world?" Elder Kai stared hard at the main timeline Gohan.
After everything on Earth had been put back on track, main timeline Son Gohan, GT Gohan, kid Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo had all come to the Sacred World of the Kai.
Because of main timeline Gohan's interference, they had completely skipped Satan's so-called "final" Tenkaichi Budokai.
Pan, however, had taken part. You had to admit, Satan was still very sharp when it came to seizing the spotlight.
"I got here after a fight with a very strong opponent…" Main timeline Gohan kept Tien's involvement to himself.
In this universe, he could only sense things tied to the main cast.
No Galactic Patrol. No Three-Eyed Tribe. No Moro. No other universes.
It was like this GT world existed as a completely isolated unit.
Totally different from the history of Dragon Ball Super.
"A black hole, huh? I've never heard of such a bizarre type of black hole!" Elder Kai muttered, frowning as he lowered his head in thought.
He couldn't sort it out. Couldn't make sense of it.
If even he couldn't, no one else had a prayer he was, after all, the one who'd lived the longest.
Gohan had also asked him before who it was that had sealed him.
Elder Kai had explained that he had no idea; it wasn't Beerus. In this universe, there was no God of Destruction and no Angels.
The Supreme Kais were, as far as anyone knew, the highest gods around.
"Elder Kai, this universe isn't as simple as you think. If you're truly the highest gods here, how did someone strong enough to seal you exist in the first place and you don't even know who it was?"
"I know, I know… Forget it. I'm just an old man. I'm done thinking about it." Elder Kai waved a hand, giving up.
"So how are you planning to get back?" Piccolo suddenly asked.
"When the cart reaches the mountain, there'll be a road. If I can come here, then I can definitely go back," Gohan replied, as if he already had a plan.
"For the time being, I'll stay on the Sacred World of the Kai. I'm from a different timeline after all, and this world already has its own Son Gohan." Main timeline Gohan pointed at GT Gohan. "I'd rather not get in your way."
"Alright. But can I have a spar with you? I can tell you're really strong," kid Goku said, eyes sparkling as he looked at him.
"Heh, I was thinking the same thing." Main timeline Gohan obviously wasn't going to pass up a chance to improve his strength.
"I'm staying too," Vegeta said, as expected.
"Dad, I want to train as well."
GT Gohan's words surprised everyone.
"Being weak is the original sin," GT Gohan said, eyes firm. "If I'd been strong enough, I wouldn't have been controlled by Baby. I wouldn't have hurt Uncle Piccolo. If that other me hadn't saved him, I'd probably regret it for the rest of my life. I want to get stronger. Dad, you said it yourself my talent is even greater than yours."
Piccolo couldn't help feeling gratified. It seemed that after going through the Baby incident, Gohan was finally coming back.
"Gohan, you finally get it!" kid Goku said, just as pleased.
"Hmph. If you'd accepted reality sooner, you might've been the first to reach Super Saiyan 4," Vegeta snorted. GT Gohan wasting his own talent clearly frustrated him.
"Then you should all stay. Piccolo, I've got a way to help you break through too. You've been dormant long enough it's time to step back into the spotlight," main timeline Gohan said.
"Really?!" Piccolo's eyes widened. It wasn't that he didn't want to fight anymore. It was that the enemies showing up recently were all far beyond what he could interfere with.
"Yeah. I've no reason to lie to you."
Main timeline Gohan thought of Orange Piccolo.
Maybe Earth's Shenron here had already been affected by negative energy and couldn't grant wishes anymore.
But Namek's dragon? Still usable.
"However, there's one small problem I need to take care of first. Wait for me."
Gohan instant-transmissioned away.
Hell.
Dr. Gero, long dead, had already found Dr. Myuu, the creator of Baby.
Two sinister genius scientists, and of course they hit it off immediately starting the creation of Hell Fighter 17.
Gohan arrived in Hell ahead of schedule and found the two schemers.
As for why he chose to deal with this now… that came back to his plan.
Ever since he'd arrived in the GT timeline, the two mysterious auras in his body Primordial Qi and Eerie Qi had stopped moving entirely, as if nothing here was worth their attention.
If he wanted to return to the main timeline, he'd need their help again.
Gohan suspected this timeline was connected, in some way, to Dragon God Zalama.
To uncover the mysteries of this universe, he had to fast-forward history.
The Shadow Dragons were the perfect entry point.
Super 17, on the other hand, really wasn't. That guy was a minor problem at best and of no real use to Gohan's plans.
So he decided: cut that trouble off early.
Right now, Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu had just finished the basic model for 17.
"Hey. You two nasty, disgusting creeps."
Gohan appeared behind them.
One was a mechanical android, the other a mutated robot. Neither had any ki to speak of.
But Gohan had already asked King Yemma for their exact location after judgment.
So finding them had been trivial.
"Son Gohan!!!" Dr. Gero instantly recognized him.
"Who's that?" Dr. Myuu frowned.
"He's Son Goku's son…" Old grudges and fresh hatred surged up inside Dr. Gero as he looked at Gohan.
"Son Gohan, you "
Boom.
Gohan casually flicked out a ki blast, erasing Dr. Gero on the spot.
He couldn't be bothered to listen to their monologuing.
Seeing things go south, Dr. Myuu turned tail and fled at top speed.
But how could he ever outpace Gohan?
Boom!
Gohan flashed ahead of him and punched straight through his body.
"Die."
A cold light flickered in Gohan's eyes as golden light exploded from his hand.
Dr. Myuu was reduced to a heap of twisted scrap metal.
Tap. Tap.
Gohan walked over to the 17 model.
"Earth already has an Android 17. We don't need another one."
A dark-gold energy bomb swallowed everything around it Model 17, the supercomputer, every scrap of data.
After finishing this, Gohan returned once more to the Sacred World of the Kai.
"Done with your business?" kid Goku asked.
"Yeah. Come on I want to see just how powerful Super Saiyan 4 really is."
Gohan powered up straight to full-power Super Saiyan 2.
A 300-fold multiplier roared to life. His battle power surged to 15 trillion.
"So strong. He's about equal to me. But his form isn't right. It looks like Super Saiyan 2, but I'd bet his multiplier is doubled at least."
Vegeta's base power had also reached a hundred billion.
At full-power Super Saiyan 2, he was likewise at 15 trillion.
"Kakarot, I'll go first. Hyah!!"
Vegeta transformed into full-power Super Saiyan 2.
With a 150-fold multiplier, his battle power likewise hit 15 trillion.
This time, kid Goku didn't fight to jump in first. He knew full well that Gohan's current power was still a big step below his Super Saiyan 4.
Everyone's eyes were locked onto the battlefield.
Vegeta struck first, his violent aura tearing through the air.
"Hm? This wild ki… something's off."
Gohan murmured under his breath.
He realized that GT Vegeta's full-power Super Saiyan 2 was completely different from the full-power Super Saiyan 2 of his own timeline.
Here, Vegeta had pushed Saiyan ferocity and wildness to the extreme.
His burning blood felt like it was going to pierce the sky.
By comparison, the main timeline's version of Super Saiyan 2 felt almost calm.
Gohan raised his palm and blocked Vegeta's iron fist.
At the moment their blows collided, terrifying shockwaves rippled out.
A brutal masterpiece of violence unfolded every punch landing solidly, every hit making your blood race just watching.
Bang, bang, bang, bang!
The longer they fought, the more shocked Gohan became.
He could clearly feel that Vegeta's body here was far tougher than the same-level Vegeta in his own timeline.
If you lined up main timeline Vegeta and GT Vegeta side by side with equal battle power, this GT Vegeta with his wilder, more savage development would win in physical toughness by at least a step.
Looks like in a world with almost no overarching rules, body-focused cultivation really is king. They've pushed the Saiyan's wild, feral bloodline to its absolute limit, Gohan thought, secretly impressed.
He started getting serious.
Fist against fist. Palm against palm.
The sound of their clashes was like steel rivers colliding sharp and exhilarating.
Clang!
Gohan's straight punch was blocked. He spun, driving his elbow toward Vegeta's temple.
Vegeta threw his head back, narrowly dodging the elbow, then flipped backward, his toes whipping up toward the back of Gohan's head.
Gohan's tail snapped out, coiling around Vegeta's lower leg.
Then he swung him hard, hurling Vegeta away.
"He's the real deal. He's even trained his tail his natural weak point into a weapon."
Kid Goku couldn't help exclaiming.
GT Gohan only regretted his own choices more.
Same person. Same blood.
But the gap between him and this other Gohan was just too big.
He was simply… too weak.
