Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Unusual Trainee

Capsule Corporation, Bulma's Mansion

"So, what did you come here for?" Bulma asked, still clearly annoyed.

"Miss Bulma, I need two cooking robots!" Gohan said quickly, wanting to get his business done and leave the awkward atmosphere from earlier still lingered in the air.

"Oh, so now I'm your Son family's personal ATM? Short on something, just come to me? And at any time you please?!" Bulma's irritation flared.

"Uh… then I'll buy them, I'll buy them myself!"

"Pfft. I'm not selling them to you. You think I need your pocket change?" She was still in full-on temper mode.

"Then… what would it take for you to give them to me, beautiful, kind Miss Bulma?" Gohan sighed, pulling his best pitiful face and trying to charm her.

"Cut it out with that shameless act. Don't think I don't know you may be young, but you're more worldly than your airheaded dad. You little perv!" Bulma shot back.

"That's not fair. For the record, I'm not old at all!" Gohan said with mock seriousness.

"Pfft! So you're fine with me calling you a perv, just not old?" Bulma couldn't help but laugh.

"See, you're laughing now which means you're not mad anymore. So, my beautiful and kind Bulma, tell me… how can I get those robots?" Gohan took the chance to grab her smooth little hand, shaking it playfully.

"Let go, you little brat!"

"I'm a man!"

"…"

"Ugh, fine. Go to the company and find Secretary Cai!" Bulma said, feigning annoyance.

"Got it! Bye!" Gohan bolted.

Bulma smirked to herself once he was gone. "If your dad had even half your emotional intelligence, kid, do you think I'd still be single?"

Capsule Corporation Headquarters – Front Gate

"Sir, please let me in. I told you, Bulma sent me to find Secretary Cai!"

"No way. Whose kid are you? Get moving!" The elderly security guard wasn't swayed by Gohan's attempts at charm.

Gohan hadn't just teleported inside because the company was massive even if he popped in randomly, finding the secretary would be a headache. So he'd gone to the front gate, hoping the guard would call for him.

At last.

"Huff… huff… Hold it! You must be the Son Gohan Miss Bulma mentioned? Sorry, my office is far from the gate!"

Gohan had been stuck arguing with the guard for a full half hour before Secretary Cai arrived. That alone said a lot about how big Capsule Corp was.

"You're Secretary Cai? You used to be a trainee, right? And you play basketball?" Gohan asked suspiciously. The guy looked way too much like someone Gohan remembered from his past life. Could Bulma have a kept pretty boy on staff?

"Oh? You know me?" Cai asked, surprised. Before joining Capsule Corp, he really had been a trainee until Bulma spotted him and hired him. He'd thought it would mean quick success (especially since he had a delicate stomach and couldn't eat anything too hard).

But after joining, he hardly ever saw Bulma in person; they only communicated by phone. Now, seeing Gohan and remembering Bulma's instructions, a thought struck him: Is this the type Bulma likes?

Two words popped into his head: younger boy.

"No, don't know you. Anyway, Bulma said to find you. I need two cooking robots," Gohan said.

"Alright, come with me." Hearing Gohan call her "Aunt Bulma" only made Cai more certain.

"By the way, what should I call you?" Cai asked. If he couldn't get into Bulma's bed, he figured Gohan's might do. In his mind, "opposite sex is just a need, same sex is true love."

A dozen schemes flashed through his mind. His gaze toward Gohan turned… strange.

Feeling a chill, Gohan quickly said, "My nickname's Kuro-chan… or you can call me Chibazara . Same thing, really." He also made sure to keep a good three meters between them — especially when Cai reached out, trying to hold his hand.

Once he got the capsules for the cooking robots, Gohan used Instant Transmission to get far away.

"That kid… why'd he run off so fast?" Cai murmured, biting his lip in a way that could only be described as… sultry.

And yes, "sultry" really did fit him.

Mount Paozu

"Ugh… disgusting. I'm gonna be sick " Gohan promptly vomited up his lunch.

"What's wrong, Gohan? Are you sick?" Chi-Chi asked, concerned.

"No, Mom. I just… ran into a duck that made me sick."

"A duck? You love duck heads, necks, gizzards, wings, feet… how could a duck make you sick?" Chi-Chi asked, puzzled.

"This duck wasn't that kind of duck! Anyway, I've got the robots now, so you won't have to work so hard cooking. You can go out shopping, relax. Your son's got money now spend all you like."

"Hmph. So you're trying to get rid of me, huh? You're already four years old time to start school!" Chi-Chi's tone turned threatening.

"No, Mom, I just want you to enjoy life. As for school… elementary is too easy. Going there would be bullying the curriculum," Gohan said, refusing flat-out.

In truth, he just wasn't interested in little girls his age. At least university full adults would be worth his time.

"Hmph! Fine, skip elementary, but you are going to middle school!" Chi-Chi said, knowing full well how smart he was.

"Yes, yes, whatever you say," Gohan replied with a grin.

After dinner, Goku and Raditz headed for the gravity chamber again. Even with their current power bottleneck, their Saiyan blood made the thrill of battle irresistible.

"Gohan? You're back?" Goku paused mid-spar.

"Yeah, Dad. I think Uncle Raditz's progress is slowing why not teach him the Kaio-ken?" Gohan suggested.

"The Kaio-ken, huh… He's gotten pretty good at controlling his ki. Not on our level yet, but he should be able to handle about three times Kaio-ken," Goku said after thinking it over.

"What's Kaio-ken?" Raditz asked.

"Come with me. You need a calm, natural environment to learn it the gravity chamber isn't right," Goku said, leading him outside.

Gohan, meanwhile, pulled out a ring-shaped capsule and activated his own special gravity chamber.

In the last two months, no one had grown more than Gohan himself his base power had jumped from five million to ten million. The chamber was basically a potential-unlocking room.

Ten million was another threshold.

Inside, he didn't bother with repetitive physical drills. Instead, he cranked the gravity to his limit, sat cross-legged, and transformed into a Super Saiyan.

The golden aura flared around him but now it was calm, steady, completely under control, unlike his first wild, rage-fueled transformation.

He'd long surpassed the bulky "muscle form" stage, moving toward the Full-Power Super Saiyan state. That muscle form, which he'd achieved in just a month, had boosted his strength but at the cost of speed a roughly 65x multiplier.

Now, aiming for Full Power, his multiplier was up to an astounding 70x.

Ten million base × 70 = 700 million battle power.

That was about 5.8 Friezas.

Frieza: Why am I your battle power unit again? (╯°□°)

Gohan estimated that Full-Power Super Saiyan could max out at 80x after which, the next step would be breaking into Super Saiyan 2, with a base multiplier of 100x.
