Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: So Annoyed, I Just Want to Hit Something

Earth

"Miss Bulma, where should I put this?" Gohan asked as he floated above the ground, holding the massive chunk of Pile Steel he had just brought to Capsule Corp. He didn't dare let his feet touch the ground; if he dropped it, it might bury him straight into the earth.

"Just set it anywhere," Bulma replied casually.

"No can do… This thing's way too heavy."

"How heavy?"

"As heavy as a mountain!"

"That heavy? There's nothing on Earth with that kind of density."

"This came from the collapsed core of a dying star. It's called Pile Steel, the hardest metal in the entire universe."

Bulma immediately dispatched her robots. In just three minutes, they laid down a ten-centimeter-thick steel plate over a hundred-meter square behind her estate.

"Try it now," Bulma said.

"Better step back!"

Gohan hovered to the center of the steel plate and gently lowered the Pile Steel.

BOOM!

Even with all his care, the impact sent a tremor through the ground, though it only lasted an instant. The plate's center caved in immediately.

"Phew!" Gohan wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Aunt Bulma"

"Miss Bulma!"

"…Cough, Miss Bulma, melting this might be a problem. It's the result of a collapsed star."

Bulma tapped and scanned it with her instruments. "The Sun's surface temperature is about 5,500°C, its core around 20 million°C. Judging by this metal's density, even that kind of heat wouldn't melt it. But don't worry fire isn't the only way to shape metal. Its density is more than enough; we don't need to melt and forge it. I can reshape it chemically and build your gravity chamber."

Typical Bulma, the genius scientist already had a plan.

"I'll leave it to you then. Oh, and could you make the gravity chamber into a ring? Easier to carry around," Gohan asked.

Given Capsule Corp's capsule tech, changing the form factor to a ring shouldn't be too hard.

"No problem. But whatever's left over after making the chamber, I'm keeping," Bulma bargained.

"Fine. It's useless to me anyway."

"When I'm done, this chamber might surpass your imagination. Come back in ten days," she said, already focused on her scans.

"Got it. See you!" Gohan vanished.

King Kai's Planet

"Ah-da-da-da-da-da!"

In the skies above, Goku and Piccolo clashed at speeds invisible to the naked eye, their positions trackable only through sensing their ki.

Piccolo suddenly extended his arm, wrapping Goku tight, then charged a Special Beam Cannon with his free hand.

Goku flared his aura, trying to break free, but Piccolo anticipated it; his other arm shot around, locking Goku's own arm like a knot.

"No way… AAH!" Goku, throwing dignity aside, bit Piccolo's arm.

"Goku! You shameless!" Piccolo recoiled instinctively, his shot now incomplete but still firing.

The golden beam, wreathed in rippling light, locked onto Goku.

He crouched, ki shield on his palm, and smacked the beam aside, sending it upward.

Smack!

Blood glistened at the corner of Gohan's mouth. His head tilted back slightly, eyes full of killing intent.

"Who… wants to die?" An immense pressure burst from him.

The beam had nailed him squarely on the jaw the moment he teleported in.

"Calm down, Gohan! It was an accident!" Goku rushed over to placate him.

Piccolo looked both embarrassed and unsettled. He hadn't fully charged it, but it was still at his full normal power, yet Gohan only had a scratch.

"So, Dad… you want the son to bury the father, huh?"

What could he do? His dad was his dad; he'd spoil him anyway.

Still, the fury needed somewhere to go.

"So angry, so angry… I just want to hit something!" Gohan muttered, scanning for a target. Only Goku and Piccolo were around.

A wicked grin crept onto his lips.

"Dad, Piccolo… You've been training a lot. Let's see how strong you are now."

A shiver ran down Goku's spine, but excitement lit his eyes. Piccolo, though, sensed danger.

"Come on give me everything you've got!" Gohan beckoned them.

"Alright! Piccolo, together!" Goku lunged.

"Don't order me!" Piccolo shot forward as well.

One high, one low they struck simultaneously.

Gohan raised his right arm, blocking Goku's axe kick, and bent his left leg to stop Piccolo's sweep.

"Hah!" His ki burst knocked them both back.

He vanished above Piccolo and dropped his elbow onto the Namekian's skull. Stars burst in Piccolo's vision as he plummeted.

A flicker and Gohan was behind Goku.

"Not good! Kaio-Ken! Triple!" Goku blasted forward in a blur, but no matter how he moved, Gohan stayed on his tail.

"Dad, you go down too!" His fist slammed into Goku's lower back.

Thud! Thud!

They crashed to the ground, stacked like a human totem.

"That was too quick… I'm still not satisfied," Gohan grumbled.

Both were unconscious Piccolo from a crown-cracking blow, Goku from a strike to a man's weakest spot.

It wasn't that they were weak; Gohan was just far too strong. Five million base power was simply unfair.

"Lord Kai, I'm hungry," Gohan said, floating down.

"You're a monster… They're monsters already, but you're a demon among demons," King Kai sighed, going to prepare food.

An Hour Later

Goku and Piccolo finally stirred. The smell of food perked Goku right up.

Piccolo, however, sat under a tree, arms crossed in meditation, head still throbbing from that "heavenly palm" to the crown.

"Gohan! You hit too hard!" Goku protested.

"…That was less than one percent of my base power. Sorry," Gohan replied flatly.

Pure, unfiltered humble-brag.

Goku suddenly found the food tasteless, chewing without joy, while Gohan's last trace of anger melted away.
