Vale's POV
The ground beneath my feet started shaking like an earthquake was coming.
I grabbed Dante's arm to steady myself, but he was already moving. His eyes went wide and bright silver, scanning the forest around us.
"Something's wrong," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
Luna stood perfectly still in the middle of the chaos. While trees swayed and rocks tumbled down the mountainside, she didn't move an inch. It was like she was the calm center of a storm.
"They've found us faster than I thought," Luna said. Her voice sounded sad and worried. "We don't have much time."
"Who found us?" I asked, but deep down, I already knew the answer would be bad.
"The Shadow Council," Luna replied. "They're ancient vampires who want to control every supernatural creature on earth. And they know what you are now."
