Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: When Facing a Barbarian, Run

Bul-Kathos's feet slammed into the void in the ground, his arms gently tossing the girl's body onto the rooftop pool with care.

The void reeked of Hell—sulfurous, nauseating, just as he remembered.

Foul and repulsive!

Fury surged within him. Bending down, he seized the demonic arms reaching from the void, yanking them up with brutal force.

A massive, spectral gauntlet adorned with jagged blades materialized over his clenched fist. He smashed it into the demon he'd dragged up, splitting it in two with a single blow.

Weapons?

Weapons were for worthy foes. This filth deserved only the tearing claws of a barbarian!

His fist tore through the demon's abdomen, cleaving it apart.

He hurled the broken body back into the void, the impact drawing a hysterical wail from its depths.

"Demon!"

Bul-Kathos wasn't done. Raising his right leg high, he brought it down with earth-shaking force.

Earthquake: Tremor Strike!

A sudden inferno erupted from the Hellish void, incinerating the vile, sin-soaked souls within until they melted into nothing.

The girl's soul hovered quietly in the air, her face etched with exhaustion yet glowing with hope as she gazed at Bul-Kathos.

"Die, scum!"

His roar had already drawn the attention of the streets below. Pedestrians craned their necks toward the building, and sirens wailed as emergency vehicles sped toward the scene.

The girl's soul shimmered with the rare light of sacrifice—a radiance Bul-Kathos recognized.

The death of a noble soul demanded repayment in the obliteration of Hell's filth.

He drove his arms into the void, intent on smashing through to the stinking world below, to teach these demons the meaning of barbarian justice!

As his fists struck, a pair of pristine white wings appeared before him.

An angel with golden hair, her face nearly identical to Ancient One's, descended abruptly.

Bul-Kathos's fury blazed hotter.

His arms shattered the void like glass, fragments of space tumbling into Hell.

This was Agamotto's barrier, built to sever Earth from other dimensions, now fractured by his strike!

"Scum, you think that stench and that face can mock me?"

His beard quivered with rage as he gripped the angel's wings.

Then he paused.

The stench suggested demonic illusion, but the wings felt real under his grasp.

High Heaven's angels often bore wings of light, but these feathered ones belonged to lesser angels—akin to Sanctuary's common folk.

Stronger than humans, but not warriors.

High Heaven's battle angels had radiant wings; feathered ones were their civilians.

His hesitation didn't stop his body. The barbarian's claws pierced the angel's wings, scattering feathers.

A barbarian's body often outpaced their mind!

The void seized the moment to close, vanishing.

"Argh! Argh! Argh!"

Bul-Kathos roared, his body wreathed in a fiery aura of rage.

The angel struggled free, leaving a bloody chunk of flesh and bone behind.

It fled at the cost of its wing, escaping his sight as his fury peaked.

Pursuit was never a barbarian's strength. Otherwise, Volusk wouldn't have needed Zilannik to craft a speed-boosting belt.

These wretched cowards always fled from barbarians, forcing unstoppable warriors to waste time in futile chases!

The enemy gone, Bul-Kathos's body brimmed with unspent fury.

"Come out, you filth! Face me!"

His bellow shook the entire block, the ground trembling under his presence. Even ordinary people felt the terror it inspired.

"Bul-Kathos!"

Ancient One appeared, the surroundings cloaked in a dimensional pocket.

"Damn you, scum!"

His roars echoed through the pocket dimension. Ancient One stood quietly, watching him rage.

When he finally calmed slightly, she asked cautiously, "What happened?"

She saw the serene corpse floating in the pool and the timid soul hovering nearby, piecing together a guess.

"Tell me where Hell is!"

His voice thundered with restless power. He needed to teach this unfamiliar Hell a lesson it wouldn't forget.

"I can only enter when they're stealing souls. There won't be a portal now."

Ancient One had just given Satan a taste of "three stabs, six holes, squeak squeak squeak." The Hell-lords had been thoroughly humbled.

Opening a portal to Earth anytime soon seemed unlikely.

"Then tell me how to reach Heaven!"

His outward calm masked the inferno smoldering within.

"They're more cautious, rarely entering the human world uninvited."

Ancient One eyed the scattered feathers and the bloody wingtip in Bul-Kathos's hand, speaking uncertainly.

"Maybe I should start by questioning the angels lingering here."

"The demons… they're planning something."

The girl's soul, radiant with sacrifice, spoke softly, joining the conversation.

Bul-Kathos's anger finally subsided.

Noble souls were rare in any world.

Her sacrifice earned his respect, calming his wrath.

"Then Ancient One will handle your soul."

He exhaled heavily, glancing at the environment he'd unintentionally wrecked.

Pulling a large sack of gold coins from his pack, he tossed it to the ground.

"I'm heading back. Jill should be returning soon."

Barbarians weren't suited for post-battle cleanup. They were pure warriors.
