Chapter 4 - An Unusual Bond.

"Mate?! Impossible!"

"Well this is unexpected…"

"Oh hell no! There is no way it is her! And only her?!"

The boys she had bumped with instantly pushed the idea of her being mated to them. Well, except one. But Snow, who was as confused as ever, didn't know what to say. She couldn't understand the phenomenal.

When she was still with whitefang, she saw her fellow omegas finding their mates and living happily ever after but she, though she never reached 18, she had been told by the pack healer that her wolf is dormant, like in a state of deep slumber and because of that, she would never be able to shift or find her mate. And she was as good as a human but with maybe an enhanced sense of smell and hearing and feeling.

Snow experiencing a mate bond with three men instead of one was completely outrageous. Especially to herself. Could it be that her wolf had woken up? But how? Is that even possible?

As the questions brewed in her head like a storm in the wet season, the irritated one, blond with fierce eyes, grabbed her roughly by the shoulders. The sheer strength he possessed was enough to lift her just centimetres off the ground, "listen here, if this ever gets out, you are no different from a dead person, do you get me?." His words were a threat whispered, he scared her.

But the boys with him pulled him back rather roughly, "you do not treat women like that, understand?" brunet, bold and had a face of elegant royalty, scolded the blond, almost as if he was to apologize to her, but his words were the same, just a bit more polite, "you will never speak of this. We don't know you, you don't know us, so take it that we never met." and slowly, he dragged the other with him.

The only thing she did was part her lips, they didn't even allow her to talk. The last one analysed her a little, she noted his jet black hair and a mesmerizing pair of indigo eyes, she had never seen eyes like his. But when he was done looking at her, he left without saying another word, following the path of the other two and vanished.

Would she never see them again in this massive academy? It was possible. But the way they had immediately refused her, hurt her heart, almost a choking feeling. She knew back in her pack that rejection was a very bitter thing and people have killed themselves over it. Conflict did not vanish from Snow, it only grew. The feeling of the unusual bond was still light, just growing, maybe the men she met haven't felt it yet.

Maybe they will come around and accept her. Whatever would happen, she needed to understand herself before approaching them again. Oh how she wished she got their names.

Snow was able to find some direction after the incident, maybe the interaction was a good sign. She met the registrar who had been long expecting her. Her papers were given to her in a short instant and she was official. Her schedule was given but as she went over it, she couldn't help but think of the boys she ran into a few hours back.

The sun was dipping, giving way for her lover, the moon, and her sister, the stars to shine, Snow made her way back to the packhouse, making sure not to get lost was the hardest part because her mind was preoccupied with scenarios.

With each step she took, she became sadder, but it was such a strange feeling to process. As she reached the gates of the packhouse and neared the building, Liora spotted her from her garden and gave a cheerful wave, but Snow's gaze was to the ground and didn't notice the little girl was greeting her.

"What is wrong with Ms Snow today?" her curiosity piqued, she would find out.

Snow went straight to her room and set the bag she carried around just beside her bed and began to undress. Her eyes had bags, tears pricked them but she didn't let them fall. Once she was in nothing but her birth suit, she stood in front of her mirror to see the old scars on her pale skin. It reminded her of her past.

Her train of thoughts was broken by a knock on the door and a sweet voice ringing out, "Ms Snow! Are you sleeping? Can I come in?" almost sing-song, the mischief in her voice could be heard. It was just the nudge she needed to smile a little.

Quickly putting on a dress, she rushed to open the door for the alpha's daughter and there, she was attempting to hide behind a single pink Dahlia, the cheekiest smile spread across her face.

It forced Snow to laugh as she pulled the girl in, closing the door behind her, "you were in the garden again?"

"Yes! I even waved to you! But you didn't see me! You looked sad…" the child stomped until the last part of her statement, and almost like a reflex action, she thrust the flower to Snow, "you should not be sad. It doesn't make you as pretty. And you're the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen!" Liora was Snow's biggest wingman. The words melted her hurting heart.

"Oh such a sweet child." Her hands caressed her cheek and the child was soaking up all the affection, "come, let me braid your hair, I know how much you like it when I do your hair." she replied teasingly, causing giggles to erupt from Liora. Snow got to braiding and talking with the alpha's daughter, she made things more bearable.

She gave her happiness.

Night had fallen, and three men sauntered into their shared dorm. Easily big enough to be a full house. It was the privilege they had for being the sons of the alpha.

"Today is just one of those crazy days." The blond was the first one to enter, throwing his hands in the air.

"It has been one of those crazy weeks. With the attacks more frequent and then…" the brunet paused for a minute before turning to his brother, who jumped on the couch first, "what do you think about the girl Zev?"

"I don't give a monkey's shit about her. I don't believe in that whole stuff. I have a girlfriend that I love, what do I need a mate for?" Zev rolled his eyes and his golden locks at the impossible question his brother was asking him, "Or would you leave Carissa for her? Huh Nolan?"

The smug in his voice was annoying to Nolan, of course he wouldn't leave his fiancé for a girl he just met. He doesn't even like her, he was just somewhat drawn to her, "why would I? It is highly unreasonable. I, too, do not believe in this mate bond thing." he quickly recovered and sat on the couch with his brother.

The black haired boy didn't say anything and went to get something to drink. The eyes of his brothers followed him as the water entered his throat. They expected him to say something after that but he didn't. He instead stripped to be left in his shorts and went straight to cooking.

Nolan and Zev were getting apprehensive.

"Well are you not going to say anything Xerxes?" they asked in unison, getting his attention. They wanted to make sure they were all on the same page.

"If she is indeed our mate, we should find her and talk to her. I am not surprised, seeing how dad turned out. We should be more open-minded." he prepared what they would eat and Zev rolled his eyes to the moon and back.

"You can never get it right with this guy." he closed the topic and slid further in despair on the couch.

"So we should abandon the life we have because someone new has come in?" Nolan pushed and it caused Xerxes to drop the knife and stare deep into his soul.

"I am saying you should not push her out because you have a life." he returned to his cooking after the statement.

"Well I don't want her. Nolan definitely doesn't need her either. So you can keep her cool guy. Tell me when dinner is ready, I'm in my room." Zev dismissed the discussion and sauntered to his room, with Nolan stepping outside their space to get some air.

All Xerxes did was let out a sigh, his eyes closed, and even as he did that, he saw Snow.
