Chapter 128: You Deserve to Be Abused

Online game designers have noticed a strange phenomenon: the growing popularity of Dark Souls. Debates have emerged in player forums, videos on platforms, and a growing number of live stream covers with the phrase "You are dead." Countless new players who delve into the world of Dark Souls have experienced the same mentality as veterans.

Even those who followed Alex's guides have suffered similar abuse. At first, these players approached the game with skepticism. But after trying it, they discovered: 'Wow! This heavy-shield strategy, while a bit timid, is incredibly effective!'.

However, once they passed the Cemetery of Ashes, the Firelink Shrine, and the Lothric Walls (shown in the video), and arrived at the unknown Undead Settlements and the Road of Sacrifices, they discovered a completely different experience!

In the densely populated areas of Lothric, the only path is basically the one under the Wyvern Bridge. But if you lure the monsters to the Wyvern Bridge, the remaining ancestral dragons will breathe fire, which will help you annihilate them indiscriminately. The Lothric Knights in front of the Abyssal Watcher's room can also be eliminated one by one. The many remaining creatures are simply common zombies.

But things are different in the Undead Settlement. New types of monsters have appeared. While you can only fight one or two at a time if you're in a group, the distances between them are very short. If you try to run, you will experience the warmth of the villagers.

Additionally, the Undead Settlement still has many intimidating traps. When a player sees a flashing white light, indicating a collectible item, he happily runs to pick it up. Unbeknownst to him, a monster with a large vat has been ambushed on a nearby platform.

Just as the player reaches the item, a large vat suddenly falls from the sky, shattering the player's screen. This also reminds them how to write the words "you are dead."

Hidden in the rafters is a dagger attacker, and in the gloomy corners lurk ranged enemies who wield throwing knives. Even the iron bars you thought contained corpses could be living monsters. And then there's the enthusiastic and plump lady, who will leave an indelible mark on players who haven't put in the effort.

All these factors have made players who previously had little difficulty on the Lothric Walls complain. This treatment is completely different!

"Oh my God, this map design is so malicious! It's just like the treasure chest monsters from before, and there's even a guy ambushed nearby!"

"What the heck is this? Fat Aunt, get out of here! I'm still young and I want to fight!"

"Brother Water Tank, let's talk about this. First, put down the water tank. Okay, okay... Oh my God! Where did you get that giant saw?"

"What's wrong with the rats in the sewer? Am I playing Outlast or Dark Souls? And where did all those skeletons come from?"

"Move! Roll, little brother! I'm not panicking... Oh my God! What's wrong? Where did these javelins come from? They look like missiles!"

Countless players, relying on their shield skills to get through the Lothric Wall and into the Undead Settlement, suddenly found the door to a new, open world. Unaware of the Undead Settlement monsters' attacks and traps, they instantly experienced the same brutal death.

Countless players relied on their shield and crotch skills to defeat Gundyr and the Abyssal Watcher. But after being led into the Undead Settlement with the token given to them by the old woman, cold reality dealt them a heavy blow.

It was made of metal, spiky and scorched by flames, like a huge hammer. The only consolation for players was that they were finally not alone in the undead settlement. There, they experienced the joy of fighting side-by-side for the first time.

A knight, dressed in onion-shaped, round armor, appeared in the central elevator section. After solving the puzzle, they could talk to this adorable Onion Knight, who helped them defeat a terrifying-looking flame demon. With the Onion Knight drawing enemy fire, this battle was possibly the easiest for many players.

The only downside was that, judging by his health bar, he was simply an elite monster, not a boss.

After winning the battle, they learned the Onion Knight's name and received a glass of wine from him. They drank together to the cry of "Be with the Sun!", gaining a new pose.

But that was the end of the story. The Onion Knight continued to sleep soundly, while the players continued to advance and resist. And as they advanced through the map, they discovered that each one was more hostile than the last!

The giant crabs in the puddles of the Road of Sacrifices and a black knight under a ruined temple left countless players completely bewildered. Thinking that this was the limit, they crossed the Road of Sacrifices and arrived at the deepest point of malevolence.

That was the infamous Farron Keep, and countless players were truly devastated.

How to describe it? It's the map that most players remember vividly. It's a toxic puddle, like a septic tank. Movement is incredibly slow, and rolling is the only option. There are all kinds of strange monsters, including giants with clubs, those that ride on your head like a shampooer, and cursed frogs with huge eyes that rapidly drain your SAN. It's truly disgusting.

Worst of all, players must extinguish the fires before they can fight the Lord of Cinder.

Countless players have withstood Gundyr, the Judge of Cinder, the Lothric Wall, the Undead Settlements, and the Road of Sacrifices, only to fall to the malevolence of Farron Keep.

"I can't take it anymore! Is there any older brother who can help the child? I'm about to collapse!"

"+1, is there any great god who can give me a map of Farron's Pit? I've circled it twice and there's only one fire point left! Save the child!"

"Ah! I feel like I'm going to die. This sewer is so disgusting, and the monsters are so powerful."

"+1! The shampoo brother is too strong! He washes my hair all the time!"

"Stop talking! The monster on the city wall is like a giant. The monster holding the tree root holds me like a piece of dung and holds me like a piece of dung. I'm crying!"

"And the cursed frog, although not powerful, its form is too disgusting!"

Countless players complained, and of course, there were also those who boasted.

"Haha, guys, wait! I still have one last fire. After I put it out, I can go fight the Lord of Cinder! I'm about to get out of the sewer!"

"I have some news to tell all the undead. I have successfully met the Lord of Cinder of Farron Keep. He's the undead squad from the previous promotional video. He fights with a greatsword and shines like a hip-hop dance. He's very handsome and cool. I've been won over by his charm, so I decided to hang out with him for a while."

"F***, if you can't beat him, you can't beat him! Why are you using so many euphemisms?"
