Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Players at the Expo

Chapter 83: Players at the Expo

At the entrances of the various exhibition zones, many players were chatting animatedly.

"NetDragon and Aether Games are going to make a big move this year!"

"Good grief! They just launched a VR blockbuster during the winter holidays, and now they have another one?"

"Don't get too excited. I think it's just a demo. Isn't it the same every year?"

"How exciting! I'm getting in line!"

"Yes, yes, I have to try it. After all, it's the latest VR masterpiece from NetDragon and Aether Games."

"But there are so many people, right?"

"There will be even more people lining up later."

"Forget it, I'm going to check out another zone."

For many players, the first choice was, without a doubt, the booths of Aether Games and NetDragon. And everyone's goal was clear: to see the latest VR blockbusters from NetDragon and Aether Games. It was truly striking.

Of course, many players were discouraged by the long queues. After all, they were simply too long. Of course, there were no queues. Although there was no way to experience the game content, there were other things to see. The long legs of the promoters were the most eye-catching.

"Good grief! Those legs are so big... no, they're so long!"

"Those are the normal legs you'll see for years!"

"They're so whimsical. I'm different. I can keep playing for two years."

"So they're all perverts!"

"Don't talk nonsense. We're not perverts. We're just good at discovering the beauty of the world!"

"That's right!"

Of course, not all players focused on the legs. There were some exceptions.

"Stop looking. Your eyes are popping out." Sarah rolled her eyes and said angrily to Mike, who was beside her.

"Ahem, don't tell me I haven't seen it. I'm not interested." Mike looked a little embarrassed, but quickly changed the subject. "By the way, which exhibition zone do you think we should go to now? NetDragon's?"

"Sure, I'm very interested in their new game," a burly young man nodded. It was Tom, the same one who had been terrified playing Outlast. He was accompanied by another young man and a woman, all real-life friends. This time, they had agreed to go to the Gameplay Expo together.

"I think we should forget about it. There are too many people! The lines are two or three hours long, and then you can experience it for a few minutes. The VR gaming booth doesn't even warm up," Sarah said.

Honestly, she was also very interested in NetDragon's and Aether Games' VR blockbusters. But after seeing the long lines, she gave up.

"By the way, it seems Nebula Games is also at this exhibition. Let's go see their booth. Maybe they'll have new games!" Sarah suddenly thought.

She still had a very good impression of this video game company. She was a big fan of To the Moon, Undertale, and Overcooked.

"Alright, let's go see Nebula Games' booth. I wonder if they'll have new games this time," another female voice, Chloe, nodded.

"Sounds good to me," another young man, Ethan, said, spreading his hands.

Mike and Tom, however, were stunned by what they heard. Mike still couldn't forget how he ended up washing dishes every day. Similarly, Tom couldn't forget how he almost peed himself after playing Outlast.

Finally, they decided to visit Nebula Games' booth first. After all, the queues at NetDragon's and Aether Games' booths were intimidating.

And, in fact, there were quite a few players like Mike heading to Nebula Games' booth. After all, a series of excellent games had given Alex and Nebula Games considerable recognition in the indie gaming community and among a specific group of players. Therefore, many players traveled specifically to see Nebula Games and Alex.

Similarly, some video game media and streamers who attended the exhibition were attracted by tier-three and tier-four companies, as well as renowned indie games.

Why? NetDragon and Aether Games, naturally, receive a lot of attention from traditional media. But with so much coverage, how can they compete with these media for traffic? It's better to choose game developers with a certain level of recognition, but with less intense competition from traditional media.

Nebula Games was, as expected, part of the atmosphere. However, when players arrived at Nebula Games' booth, many were a little bewildered. The atmosphere was completely different!

Observing other booths, although dedicated to indie games, they were filled with glamorous women and dazzling figures. Meanwhile, Nebula Games' booth was a breath of fresh air! There were women, but only three or four. Most wore doll costumes. On a specific stage, they crawled and jumped, looking ridiculous.

"What the heck! How can Nebula Games' promoters act like that?"

"Hey, they're not promoters! Look, there are only three cosplayers, not counting the female employees."

"Haha, but don't tell me it's quite entertaining."

"Look at the booth sign! This is Alex's new game!"

"Three Kingdoms Tactics, Fall Guys... I'd never heard of them. Could this be Alex's special plan for this exhibition?"

Players arriving at Nebula Games' booth were full of curiosity and engaged in lively conversations. After all, compared to the other exhibition zones, this one was simply too peculiar.

"The truth is that those colorful toy figures look like gummy bears, which is hilarious."

"Yes, at least in this presentation area, Nebula Games is truly unique!"

"But speaking of Nebula Games' new games, why do they have so little equipment?"

"Yeah, that Fall Guys takes up so much space, and there are only fifteen computers?"

"And what about Three Kingdoms Tactics, which only has five computers, and the rest are just a bunch of stools and tables?"

"Is this Nebula Games' and Alex's first time exhibiting and they have no experience?"

"It shouldn't be like that. They've been preparing for many days."

Players gathered at Nebula Games' booth whispered among themselves. They were puzzled by the lack of testing equipment at the booth. But then their questions were answered.

Nebula Games' booth was divided into three zones, with an empty stage in the center. The center of the stage was filled with dancers dressed as Fall Guys, although their costumes made it impossible to distinguish whether they were male or female.

Soon, the Fall Guys on stage separated, and Alex went on stage to present Nebula Games' booth. Upon Alex's appearance, some Nebula Games fans, who had also heard about him, immediately recognized him. They greeted him and shouted.

What was truly hilarious was the content of their shouts.

"Alex, give me back my girlfriend!"

"That's right, Alex, give me back my girlfriend!"

"We promised to be 'love warriors'!"

Observing the excited players, Alex felt a little amused.

Alex gestured for silence, saying: "Everyone, please be quiet for a moment! Everyone seems very enthusiastic!"

"It's just that there are some misunderstandings about me."

"Of course, it's okay. The games I'm bringing to this exhibition will dispel your prejudices against me. It's time to prove myself!"

"I won't say anything more. Fall Guys is a cheerful, harmonious, and loving multiplayer variety game that brings immense joy to players. Three Kingdoms Tactics is a multiplayer strategy card battle game."

Posters of Fall Guys and Three Kingdoms Tactics appeared on the large screen behind them.

As Alex introduced them, the previously silent players, hearing his reference to joy, harmony, and love, burst out laughing.

'It was like déjà vu!'

But before they could react, Alex's words filled them with surprise and excitement.

"I'm sure you've all noticed that we have very few testing devices at the venue. As for the reason..."

"You can scan the corresponding QR code to download the mobile version directly and enjoy the fun of both games in advance during the exhibition."

Additionally, on the last day of the exhibition, we will have a grand finale for everyone.
