A poster flapped on the community board outside the town library:
"Hawke Dynamics Youth Tech Fair — Ages 10–18. Show us your ideas. Change the future."
William read it three times before racing home.
"Mum! We have to enter!" he shouted, skidding into the kitchen.
Charlotte turned from the sink. "Enter what?"
Oliver was already reading over William's shoulder. "Hawke Dynamics? They fund half the tech in London."
Arianne touched the corner of the flyer, her eyes unfocused. "Something important happens there…"
Charlotte looked at her children—bright, driven, strange and beautiful—and nodded slowly.
"Alright," she said. "Let's build something."
