Daniel's POV
"Aahhh!!" I screamed my lungs out in excitement as the acceptance letter stared at me in the face. It's been three days since I was fired from the Sterling groups as their cleaner.
And now, today, I'm getting a letter of acceptance for my start-up company. Ava pushed me to do some research and reach out to some companies that might be willing to invest in my company.
We worked on the proposals and portfolio for two days without rest. Ava helped with my typing while I did the research and submitted it.
I didn't think my new company would be given a chance, but Ava pushed me to believe in myself. I stood there in disbelief as I stared at the letter intently.
Ava came out of the bathroom to see what was happening.
"Is everything alright? You screamed out of the blue. I was scared for a minute there." She said, and I stood up to hug her. We wrapped our hands around each other for a while, and I detached from the hug.
I kissed her and then brought her to the computer so she could see the email for herself.
"Oh my goodness, Daniel, congratulations!! I knew you were going to do it. Didn't I tell you to have faith?" She said to me, and I hugged her again.
"And I never would have been able to do that without you. You gave me the money for the portfolio, and it even helped me prepare everything in two days. You provided this hotel room." I began recounting everything as my eyes stung with tears.
"I didn't want to bother you, so I didn't tell you this. If you had not asked me to come here, I would have been thrown out of my apartment for owing so many months of rent. You pratically saved my life." My voice shook as I spoke, and Ava wiped the tears falling off my cheek.
"Now I not only have an investor for my company. I also get to live in a mansion. Can you even believe that? Apart from the money this company is investing, they are also giving me a free mansion and a car." I jumped up excitedly.
"Do you know what this means, Ava? You don't have to live with your aunt anymore. We are no longer poor. We are going to live a good life from now, and you will rule by my side." I carried her, and we both laughed happy that our lives have changed forever.

I rushed over to my desk and picked up my briefcase. I was about to dash out the door when I felt a pair of arms wrapped around my body.
I frowned in irritation and slightly removed Ava's arm from my body.
"I'm sorry, Ava, but I'm no longer jobless. I have a lot of things to do, and I do not have the time for chit chat." I said, unable to control my irritation.
"I know that, but lately, you no longer have my time. When was the last time we went on a date or even attended any business events together. It's as though you have forgotten all about me." Ava complained, and her words irritated my ear.
"So what now? I'm supposed to sit here with you. I have a company to run, and I do not have time for this nonsense. You don't understand because all you do is sit at home all day. I really do not have the time for you." I said and walked out the door.
"Please Daniel let's talk about this. Is there something that I can help you with? Maybe the workload is too much. I think you need a vacation or something." She suggested, and I laughed.
"What can you possibly do? You were only a waiteress, you don't know anything about a company. I appreciate the concern, but please just stay home where you belong." I said to her, and she appeared shocked.
"Don't bother waiting up for me, I will be late tonight as usual." I said and fled the room.
I arrived at my company and headed to my office. My assistant joined me as I walked along, making a list of my schedule.
"Mr Cross, Miss Chloe is in your office waiting for you." My assistant said, and my eyes flickered in excitement.
"Really? Wow!" I didn't even bother waiting for an answer and dashed to my room.
I got there, and she was seated there looking gorgeous and breathtaking her red curly hair hanging over her shoulder.
"Hello my love…" I walked up to her and kissed her on her palm.
"Hey Daniel." She answered me, her voice turning me on.
"I can't wait to make you mine forever. Because guess what? You are the one I want to be with forever." I repeated to her, and she giggled.
"Are you sure about that?" She asked me, and I nodded my head.
"Of course, my darling." I assured her.
"Then why have you been keeping our relationship a secret. I come from a very influential family. I don't think my father would be happy to hear a man has been keeping a lady such as me a secret for five months." She said, looking displeased.
"I hate to see you sad like this. Fine! If you what you want is for us to go public, then that's what we will do." I said and placed soft kisses on her palm.
"Tomorrow is the first anniversary of my company. We will announce our relationship to the world. I hope you will believe me then. Make sure all your family members are present. I would love to seek your father's blessing myself." I said, and she wrapped her arms around me excitedly.
"Of course I would love that." She said and kissed me.
I grinned in excitement and immediately called for my assistant.
"Get me the pictures of the most expensive diamond rings. I would like to make a pick." I said.
