Chapter 150 - Illegal entry

"You sure you can't stay?" David asked reluctantly as the last few minutes of the pass ticked out.

"Yeah, I was given two days. Times up so I'm out of here." I said with a shrug.

"It's not like you can't come back eventually." Jackie pointed out and I nodded.

My time ran out and just like before I fell into that strange place between places with all those threads before snapping into place in the thread representing my world.

"Well now that's not something you see everyday." a gruff voice spoke up before I could get my bearings causing me to stiffen.

Turning to look at the source I grimaced "Any chance you being here at this exact moment is a coincidence?" I asked despite already knowing the answer.

"None at all." Alastor Moody said with the smallest hint of amusement.

"Ha~ Let me guess, the meddlesome old goat decided to have you trail me and you've been watching this spot since I left." I said and he chuckled.

"Albus is getting predictable it seems. Nailed it in one lad. So are you going to explain what in the blazes I just saw or am I going to have to ask less nicely?" he asked staring at me with only one eye while the other was constantly looking all around.

"Counter offer, bye!" I said before elementalizing and shooting into the clouds overhead.

Thanks to it being a straight line I was already in the clouds before Moody could even blink. At the same time however I was internally running damage control. I wasn't careless when I left for Cyberpunk and chose a spot definitely looked over considering the filth there and even scanned my surroundings with Haki. Alastor Moody was a professional though and likely was under disguise when I popped into the alley.-

'Okay so what exactly did he see? He definitely saw me return but that could be played off as a type of spatial magic. Ugh, well my lightning travel is now exposed which sucks. Nothing for it I suppose, to France!' I thought with a deep sigh before shooting across the sky in an southward direction.

It was a little annoying that I had to constantly fight gravity and the pull towards Earth that natural lightning had but since I was actually in control I could do it.-

Additionally I hoped there was no way any alarms were getting tripped as I moved through the sky as I was both fully in lightning form and moving at top speed which was faster than the human eye could even process. Anyone who actually saw me would scrunch their eyebrows in confusion at the strange bolt of lightning but that was it. Additionally I had my wand already in my inventory so the trace was not going to work on me at all. To be fair though the thing was meant to stop wand based magic while outside school and what I was doing could be considered wandless magic, something no student was supposed to be able to do anyway.-

Crossing the english channel between the british isle and the mainland took me maybe a minute and even then only because I needed to keep my direction straight. The term "lightning fast" might be used a bit too frequently but anything actually that fast was basically teleporting. I was moving miles in microseconds and once I hit the mainland came down to the ground again. I could have crashed into the ground if I wanted but I wasn't here to make a fuss and so landed quietly behind some trees.-

'Now then to figure out where I am in relation to Paris.' I thought as I started walking towards the small hamlet my haki found a couple miles away.

That was my plan originally but something about today just had to make the world particularly mad at me as no sooner than I started my stroll I heard several loud pops and could only sigh. Four French aurors had shown up, likely because my arrival triggered some sort of alarm.-

"A child? Is there anyone else around?" One of them, a woman, said with a confused expression in french.

"Revelio." a male Auror quickly checked before shaking his head "Just the kid." he said also in french.

"Afternoon sirs and madam. Are you looking for something?" I asked in french putting my BD lesson to work.

They all looked at me in surprise.

"You speak french?" the woman asked and I nodded.

"More or less." I said calmly.

"Hmm, that makes this easier. Are you aware that you have crossed the border illegally?" she asked and I feigned confusion.

"Really? I should have known that fellow was shady!" I said acting annoyed like I had been tricked.

"Let me guess, someone told you they were getting you in through "official channels"?" One of the male aurors asked while rubbing his nose bridge with a sigh.

"Yes, but how did you know?" I asked acting surprised.

"It's a common trick smugglers do when they think they found a new route in. They trick people into testing the route for them. Makes managing the borders a pain in the ass." the guy said with an aggravated look.

"Can I ask why you wanted to come to France to begin with?" the woman asked me curiously.

I shrugged "I learned the language so I could use my christmas break to tour the place. I'm told the British magical community is rather backwards by comparison and was curious." I said flattering them shamelessly.

They all fell for it if the way they stood a little straighter was any indication.
