"Are you in an acceptable location to receive the creature? I want to be rid of it as soon as possible. Having an enigma I can't solve around is trying on my sensibilities." he said impatiently.
"You need not worry about my location for this trade. I improved my storage space so it will easily accommodate the bird assuming it's the size I believe it to be." I said reassuringly.
{Trading partner: Edmund Rockwell wishes to give the user item: Treasure: Phoenix(ARK subspecies), Accept items Y/N?}
I accepted the trade and like magic a massive eagle-like bird with white and red plumage and three long tail feathers almost as long as it's body appeared. Even in the frozen space of my inventory it had thin wispy flames rising from it's feathers but still since time was not flowing there.
"Truly a glorious creature! Thank you for procuring it for me." I said genuinely and the man waved it off.
"You paid for it so I don't need your thanks. I suppose I should also mention that Helena and Mei Yin have arrived on this Ark. I haven't approached them yet but they have left signs I discovered. Specifically near the local tribes of humans here." he said and I nodded in understanding.
"Remember what I told you, don't let yourself slip into madness by isolating yourself." I warned seriously.
"I haven't forgotten though I appreciate the reminder all the same. Rockwell, out." he said before cutting the contact.
I just chuckled and shook my head at that and left the ROR. I headed for the great hall since it wouldn't do to miss dinner. I was in a great mood and pondered how to go about bringing the bird out of my inventory and into the world without drawing suspicion.-
I couldn't exactly have an owl approach me during the day as that would immediately set off Dumbledore if I vanished for a few hours afterwards. That owl would leave a trail leading back to me being the one who sent it off and I frankly lacked the required knowledge to send myself a letter without a trace. Rather than complicating things with that though I chose to simply wake up the next morning and slip out of Hogwarts before heading into the forbidden forest with my suitcase.-
Naturally I had my haki fully extended so even though Dumbledore noticed me leave for the forest with the case he couldn't actually see what was going on, I checked. With my haki filling every unoccupied space for kilometers I "heard" every word and "saw" every action as though I were right there. The old man had a habit of confiding with the majestic gold and red bird that typically sat perched in his office it turns out. This was how I learned that he knew about me leaving the castle but once I was outside it's wards his own perception of me vanished.-
I heard him debating with himself about whether or not to try and tail me to see if I lead him to my source of strange wealth but by the time he made a decision I was long since gone. I pulled a Kizaru and filled a line with charged energy before elementalizing and reaching it's end in a split second. The interesting thing about devil fruits was the powers extended to whatever you were wearing or holding so long as it wasn't another person and even then in some cases. This meant I had effectively moved well over two kilometers in an instant.-
Besides the initial bright flash of light from my elementalization and then again when I reappeared there was no trail for him to follow. Technically he could use a "point-me" spell that works by giving a straight line direction to a target but by the time he actually reached me I'd already have the bird moved into my suitcase and be actively avoiding him.-
'Exercise is good for the elderly after all.' I thought with a chuckle as I popped open the case and headed inside.
The bird looked confused at the sudden shift in it's surroundings but otherwise like it genuinely could not care less once I took it out of my inventory. I used an ignis charm to feed it some flames and afterwards it was perfectly happy and able to listen to what I said. By that I meant it listened to the commands given through whistling. Rockwell had been able to clearly train it before he handed it over to me which I appreciated. I had to admit it really was a gorgeous beast with those flames not ruining it's look but enhancing it instead. -
I laughed when the bird stared at me in dumbfounded confusion when I ruffled it's soft feathers gently. I was literally lightning, mere flames could never so much as make me uncomfortable with their heat. For me sticking my hand in a fire was no different than moving it through air. Hell one of the most useful ways to use the power was to make metal red hot while wielding it. Still despite being confused as to why I wasn't burned when I touched it the bird was wholly unbothered by it and even seemed to enjoy it to a degree when I ruffled the feathers at the center of it's back.-
With it set in my suitcase I left the case and started leading Dumbledore on a wild goose chase. My favorite thing to do was travel through elementalization to behind him causing him to stop and look at his suddenly one eightied wand in confusion. After about two hours of this he realized that I had already discovered him and gave up chasing me. Naturally that was when I casually waited for him right outside the forest.
"Good afternoon professor, having a brisk walk I take it? I hear those are quite good for folk your age." I said with a smile as he just chuckled and played along.
"Indeed, a bit of fresh air does these old bones good." he said with a playful up tilt of the corner of his mouth.
