The wind outside the arena carried dust and anticipation.
Anticipation for the competition.
The massive coliseum stood, circular walls of ancient stone rising high enough to block half the sky. Banners of deep crimson and royal gold hung from its upper ridges, snapping violently in the wind. The symbol of the kingdom burned proudly at the center of each one.
Crowds surged toward it in waves, gathered in front of the huge crystal screen showing the participants who had their faces covered. Only the image and their names were shown on the screen. Some names were just code names.
Some were betting on who would win. Some were cheering on the person that might be related to them. Some stared silently at the entrance as if approaching a temple rather than a battlefield.
Among them were two masked men. Suho and Hajun.
"So many people have come to watch. I'm getting even more conscious."
"Stop whining."
