Prologue.

Once upon a time, there was someone named Dante, a small child full of laughter and spirit, with eyes full of freedom, and unwavering faith. Dante reached a point of knowing everything—he knew that the freedom he achieved was not true freedom, he knew that the faith he had believed in was merely his own imagination, and he knew that the world he inhabited was just a small game like a chessboard. He knew that he was merely dancing on the chessboard and only waiting to be moved like a pawn. If he were killed by a stronger opponent, no one would care.

Dante was born from a human womb and inherited the power of his father, who was a demon. Dante never knew his father's true identity; all he knew was that his father was a demon—the enemy of mankind for millions of years.

He was abandoned by both parents when he was young. His father disappeared, and his mother died before his eyes in a tragedy called the "Day of the Father's Destruction."

When he grew up, he reached a stage where he wanted to explore the world and find out about his family, especially his late father, whom he considered dead. From a small country called "Egypt" he began his journey by destroying, burning, and erasing everything, but also saving its people from that destruction. After doing so, he thanked the country that had cared for him since childhood, and then… he laughed.
