Chapter 47 - Chap 47 : The end with Cyve

I fell asleep on the ground, beside Cyve's body.

Earlier, I had run to the house to grab a cloth and cover Cyve's body so she wouldn't get cold.

I deliberately slept near her, maybe because I wanted to see her face for the last time.

——

The next morning, I planned to give my final respects to Cyve.

I intended to bury her here, because this was her final place.

But, what should I do?

I didn't have a shovel or a hoe that I could use to dig and move the soil.

If I used my hands, it would definitely take a very long time and would be exhausting.

If I left Cyve here and only covered her with a cloth… I would feel uneasy about leaving her.

"What should I do—"

If I brought her and laid her down in the house… maybe that was the last option.

Even though I couldn't lay her on the ground, at least I could make her sleep in a comfortable and soft place.

I lifted her body in front of mine. I was fairly confident in the strength of my arms.

Her body wasn't as heavy as I thought. It felt just like carrying something light.

I walked slowly and carefully so I wouldn't fall.

Along the way, this place really felt so quiet.

There would be no one else to accompany me, no one else to talk to…

Ugh, my eyes are tearing up again.

Maybe because I was used to being with Cyve, it made me feel calm.

"Well… alone again, huh?" I muttered.

Somehow this game felt more real than I imagined.

This world felt like the real world, and everything that happened here felt like it was happening out there.

——

I entered the house carefully, then walked toward Cyve's room.

I laid her body gently onto the bed, then searched for an extra cloth to cover her body.

I had no other choice but to open Cyve's wardrobe, and inside I found a long white cloth folded.

I spread the cloth, and it turned out to be almost as long as Cyve's body.

I removed the cloths I had used earlier and replaced them with this long white one.

"Maybe this is better…" I sighed and closed the wardrobe again.

Cyve's kitchen still looked clean, as if it had hardly ever been touched.

As I walked out of the room, I went to the chair that Cyve usually sat on.

I touched the chair,

"Cold…" the chair felt cold surely because it hadn't been sat on for a long time.

I looked at the small table next to it, and the book that Cyve often read was still there.

On the cover, the book was titled Human.

Maybe this was the book that let Cyve know about what humans were.

The book was quite thick, and curious, I opened its pages.

It was entirely written using letters that looked similar to hiragana.

Because of that, I could more or less understand what the book contained.

I kept turning the pages and finally reached the end of the book.

Only a blank page, but when I was about to close the book, I noticed a small writing at the bottom of that blank page.

The writing looked so small, but not impossible to see.

I brought the book closer to my eyes and read the small writing.

"Sawanami Hina…" more or less that's what was written there.

I was shocked after reading that name, it was definitely the name of someone from the world I came from!

In Velmoria there was no kingdom that had a name like this… and the only possibility was that she was from my world.

Judging from the position of the writing, that meant she was the one who wrote this book about humans.

"This book… I'll take it," I decided, because I was curious about the person named "Sawanami Hina."

I also wanted to take one of Cyve's belongings and keep it.

——

I started reading the book from the beginning to the end.

Who knows, maybe I would find something interesting in this book, and moreover, I wanted to know what things about "humans" were written by her.

But after only a few pages, I was already feeling very bored.

Because of that, I closed the book and carried it in my right hand, then went outside the house.

I sat on the ground in front of the house, looking at the sky that shone bright today.

The sun had risen, but its light wasn't too painful to the eyes yet.

I placed the book near me, then bent my knees and held them with my hands.

"When will this game end—"

After I said that, a message from the status screen appeared in front of me. It said—

"Player, you have successfully completed the game! Congratulations!"

I was disappointed because I thought it would be a more serious notification.

"That's it—" I said.

"If the Player wishes, the Player will be given a hoe for the Player's needs. Yes or No?" the status screen wrote again.

Weinz, was he trying to help me.. yeah??

"Yes, but before that I have a question," I said to the status screen.

The status screen displayed a big question mark on it, as if waiting for my question.

"How could Cyve enter this world? Was this truly a trap that Weinz gave her?" I asked.

The status screen was loading for a while, maybe also waiting for orders from Weinz.

I waited with a bit of annoyance because the loading took too long.

"Oi, hurry up—"

Suddenly the loading was finished. I immediately read the writing.

"The Utopia Magic belonging to Lord Weinz can cause someone to enter his world, due to a reason that Lord Weinz cannot provide to me—"

Actually, there were still some more words on the screen… but I was too lazy to read them.

BRAKK, I struck the status screen until it disappeared.

The answer it gave didn't help me at all, I thought I could learn why Cyve had been transferred into this world.

Whether it was an accident or intentional…

——

As the screen had said, I was immediately given a hoe.

(It suddenly spawned near the ground I was stepping on)

I immediately dug a hole using the hoe.

Somehow, I didn't feel tired at all, my hands kept moving endlessly to dig this hole.

Roughly as deep as my shoulders and as long as the bed inside the house.

I went into the room and lifted Cyve's body to bury her.

Carefully, I slowly went down into the hole while carrying Cyve.

I laid her body down, then immediately climbed back up.

This hole was the perfect size, even though I thought it would be too big.

I took the hoe again, then covered the hole with soil, burying Cyve's body beneath it.

After a while, Cyve's grave was ready.

Before I moved to another game, I crouched near Cyve's grave and prayed.

"Rest in peace," I said.

With this, my story with Cyve had ended… may I cry again??

——

Now I already felt a bit better, I stood tall while waiting to be transferred.

And a few moments later, a magic circle appeared beneath my feet.

"This is it…" I said quietly.

I looked at Cyve's grave, then waved my hand.

"See you later, Cyve," I said.

After that, I was immediately transferred to a place where everything around me was white.

This must be the lobby before entering the next game.
