Chapter 5 - New Chapter

Not long after the tension between them finally broke apart, Tamaki finished pouring out every ounce of emotion he had been holding back through uncontrollable sobs and trembling cries.

Now, he slept quietly on Amamiya's lap.

Compared to before, Tamaki looked far more peaceful. The exhaustion and frustration that had weighed on him over the past few days seemed to have finally caught up with him.

He slept deeply, his breathing calm and steady without the slightest disturbance. From above, Amamiya could only watch him in silence while a faint smile rested on her face. Her fingers gently brushed through his hair in slow, comforting motions, as though trying not to disturb the fragile peace he had finally found.

And just like that, the entire day passed with nothing but the quiet wait for Tamaki to wake from his sleep.

By the time the next morning arrived, Amamiya no longer felt any pain within her body. In fact, she felt far better than before.

Although she could barely remember what had happened or how she had fallen ill in the first place, there was at least one piece of good news.

A new skill called Telekinesis had appeared on her system screen.

Without wasting time, Amamiya immediately decided to test it. Earlier, Tamaki had fallen asleep sitting beside her with his head resting on the bed. Using her newly acquired ability, she carefully moved him into a proper sleeping position until he lay flat on the mattress comfortably.

One small thing Amamiya noticed afterward was the state of her own clothes. They were still the same worn and tattered outfit she had been wearing since the moment she first arrived in this world. Tamaki, on the other hand, somehow already had a proper set of clothes for himself, though she had no idea where he had gotten them from.

Still, it was not something worth thinking too deeply about right now.

Leaving the old hut behind, Amamiya stepped outside to search for the information she had neglected over the past few days.

The moment she exited the hut, bright sunlight immediately greeted her. The small building stood in a rather isolated corner of a rural settlement, separated slightly from the rest of the villagers' homes.

Amamiya took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air that still felt natural, unlike her previous life which was filled only with pollution.

She could see the leaves swaying in the wind, and she could also feel the wet green grass beneath her feet.

Clank clank!

The sound of heavy metal footsteps came from Amamiya's right side, slowly drawing closer to her.

Feeling nervous, she slowly turned her head slightly and saw the same armored man as yesterday. His body was heavily covered, yet it did not seem to burden him with the weight of the armor he wore.

Because some pieces of metal were only worn on certain parts of the body, while leather layers covered the areas needed for movement, and were then covered again by chainmail armor.

That was what Amamiya thought after analyzing the mysterious man.

"Are you feeling better now?" he asked briefly.

"E-eh!? Yes, I'm feeling better now," Amamiya replied immediately.

"Hmm... what about the man who is with you?" he asked again in a cold and flat tone.

Amamiya turned her body to face the armored man.

"Yes, he's fine too. He just needs some rest, maybe he's exhausted from taking care of me," Amamiya answered clearly.

The armored man gave a small nod. "Hmm, I see. Alright."

Why is this guy so flat?? Amamiya thought to herself, confused by his overly flat response.

With that, the two of them could only stare at each other awkwardly. Amamiya was confused about what she should do. With his face hidden behind the helmet, she couldn't tell what expression the man was making right now.

The armored man raised his right hand to hold the chin of his helmet, then rested his elbow on the palm of his left hand at stomach level.

"By the way, your male friend—"

"Tamaki, that's his name, Tamaki," Amamiya interrupted.

The man was slightly surprised, but he did not think much of it.

"Right, Tamaki has indeed been a great help in this village. It's obvious that he's exhausted, therefore the village chief has already prepared a room and several important necessities for the future. Perhaps if he hasn't told you..." said the armored man.

Not long after he said that, the door of the same hut Amamiya had exited opened, producing the creaking sound of an old door.

"Oh? Amamiya, so you're here?" he said in surprise, then turned to the armored man standing beside Amamiya.

Both Amamiya and the armored man looked at Tamaki.

"It seems this is enough. I'll be going to meet my other companions," he said, beginning to turn around.

Amamiya gave a small nod. "Yes, thank you for your help."

"You're welcome..." The armored man took a step, but quickly stopped and immediately turned back toward Amamiya. "Oh yes, don't forget that there are many goblin nests near this village, so you should be careful about that."

After saying those final words, the armored man walked away.

Tamaki moved closer to Amamiya. "What did you talk about with that man?" he asked.

"He was worried about me and you, then gave some information, such as about the goblin nests, and also about the place and supplies as a token of thanks from the village chief," Amamiya said, still looking in the same direction as the armored man.

"Ohh, that's right. Since you're feeling better now, I want to take you to our inn room," Tamaki said. "Come on, follow me," he continued, already walking ahead of Amamiya.

Amamiya did not answer, only understood and walked right behind him.
