Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Emotion Correction Expert

At Uchiha Kindergarten, there were no classes from Friday to Sunday.

Obito gradually became accustomed to life at Uchiha Kindergarten.

At this point, Uchiha Yato thoughtfully presented him with a childcare package.

Yato's exact words were:

"Since you're free anyway, you might as well help take care of the children in the preschool area."

"It'll help pass the time, and you'll earn points too."

By this point, Obito had basically already decided to agree to Yato's suggestion.

Yato continued, "Once you've saved up 10,000 points, I'll invite Rin Nohara to visit Uchiha Kindergarten."

Well, that sealed the deal—Obito immediately became the best childcare worker.

The children, who hadn't yet attended the ninja academy, were full of curiosity and anticipation about academy life.

Obito kindly answered all their questions.

At this moment, Uchiha Kai asked, "Big Brother Obito, did you have good friends at the ninja academy?"

Obito naturally replied, "Of course. There was a girl named Rin Nohara."

"She was a very gentle girl."

As he spoke, a smile naturally appeared on Obito's face, radiating happiness.

Seeing their conversation, Yato quickly joined in.

Yato said, "Our Obito really liked this girl."

"Kai, remember—when you're looking for a man in the future, find someone like our Obito here, a man capable of such devotion."

With Yato's participation and his chosen topic, the conversation quickly took a turn.

Hearing these words, Obito blushed furiously with embarrassment.

Then Yato suddenly changed the subject:

"But you must never accept a simp."

Kai didn't understand what a "simp" was and asked directly.

Yato explained: "What is a simp?"

"This is very important—someone who loves deeply isn't necessarily a simp."

"But there are people who won't stop until they hit a wall and can't take no for an answer."

"Those people are called simps."

Seeing that neither Kai nor Obito fully understood, Yato tried a different approach:

"Kai, imagine there's someone you don't like—what would you do?"

Kai replied, "Ignore them, don't play with them."

"Tell them I don't like them."

Yato nodded approvingly: "Exactly. If you don't like someone, you should say so."

"But what if this person loves you too much and refuses to leave, always hanging around you every day—what then?"

Kai answered, "If I don't like them, I don't like them. Why would they keep pestering me?"

Obito chimed in, "That kind of person is really annoying, and pretty disgusting too."

Yato corrected them: "We shouldn't call them disgusting—it's more that they're obsessed with their love for you.""You have the right to pursue someone, but you shouldn't interfere with their normal life."

"A simp would agree to any demand without any bottom line, such people have completely lost their dignity."

Uchiha Kai said, "Do such people really exist?"

Obito over there also put on a thoughtful expression, as if pondering something.

Uchiha Yato didn't bother with discussion, directly revealing his Sharingan to lock eyes with Obito.

He then pulled out the Uchiha Yato-brand projector, capable of displaying the illusions experienced by those trapped in genjutsu.

After completing his preparations, Uchiha Yato said to Uchiha Kai, "Let's see if your Obito-nii will become a simp?"

Uchiha Kai responded, "Yato-nii, that's really rude of you."

"He didn't even agree yet, how could you just start like this?"

Uchiha Yato offered no explanation.

There were actually two reasons why Uchiha Yato had described the previous events in such detail.

First, he wanted to teach the Uchiha Clan that they shouldn't be too arrogant.

This applied to all aspects, including matters of love and emotion.

And in this regard, there was a perfect negative example - Uchiha Obito.

He also wanted to see if the still-young Obito could exercise some self-control, so he wouldn't be so easily manipulated by Madara later.

The second purpose, of course, was to farm emotional coins!

This wave of emotional currency probably wouldn't be small - he'd bet Obito was head over heels for Rin!

Soon, the projector displayed the first scenario Uchiha Yato had designed for Obito.

Scenario One: Wedding Ceremony

Uchiha Obito's vision blurred as he saw Nohara Rin in a white shiromuku kimono waking him up.

The woman standing before him now

was far more mature than her current self, yet still gentle and lovely - instantly striking Obito's heart.

Obito had also grown into an adult form, making him wonder.

Nohara Rin said softly, "Why did you suddenly faint?"

"Today's an important day for me, don't forget."

Seeing Rin like this, Uchiha Obito's heart raced uncontrollably.

He automatically imagined himself as Rin's husband, making him feel exhilarated.

Then Rin's next words plunged him into an ice-cold abyss.

"You're my nakoudo today."

"I'll be counting on you to handle things later."

(In Japanese weddings, the nakoudo is equivalent to a bridesmaid who assists the bride.)

At this moment, Obito felt his heart sink - attending the wedding of the girl he loved most, yet not being the groom.

When he tried to do something, he found he'd lost control of his body.

He could only helplessly assist Rin with the arrangements, until gradually the scene changed again.

This time when it reappeared, he saw a man wearing a black montsuki haori hakama.

As he approached, he recognized this familiar face.

The boy's flushed cheeks told the whole story. (True warmth)

Indeed, the groom Uchiha Yato had arranged was none other than Kakashi Hatake.

This overlapped perfectly with Uchiha Yato's earlier threat to make Obito attend classes properly, instantly igniting his emotions.

"Ding~"

"Congratulations host for raising Uchiha Obito's emotional temperature."

"Obtained 200 Emotion Coins."

Uchiha Yato was thrilled - a simple stimulus had instantly earned him 200 Emotion Coins, equivalent to all he'd gotten from the Third Hokage's group before.

But Obito remained like a puppet on strings, unable to take any action except to obediently place Rin's hand into Kakashi's.

The reason Uchiha Yato did this was still influenced by the original storyline. No matter how much you love Rin, Uchiha Obito can never be redeemed for two things: slaughtering his own clan and killing the Fourth Hokage who had treated him well.

Why should your entire clan—the people who raised you—become mere tools for your revenge plot?

Why should your teacher become a victim of your blade for your revenge, leaving his newborn son to be manipulated by others?

So here, Uchiha Yato isn't trying to see if Obito has the potential to be a simp.

He's purely seeking revenge for his past self, utterly unable to comprehend Obito's idiotic act of annihilating his own clan.

And the other perpetrator of the massacre—Uchiha Itachi.

No worries, Itachi hasn't been born yet. Once he is, we'll take our time with him.

Right after Uchiha Obito handed Rin's hand to Kakashi, the illusion ended.

But judging by Obito's current state, it seemed he hadn't fully snapped out of it yet.

Uchiha Hai, watching from outside, remarked, "Is this what you meant by simp behavior, Yato-nii?"

"So Obito's a simp, huh?"

The little girl seemed genuinely upset, even dropping the honorific "nii."

Uchiha Yato quickly explained, "No, no, I was the one controlling his body just now."

"First, I wanted to show you what a simp looks like—this is it. Stay far away from people like this."

"Second, I wanted him to experience just how painful it is to be a simp."

"After this, Hai, make sure to thank Obito-nii for his selfless sacrifice, okay?"

He didn't wait for the girl's response—or any retort—before launching the second scenario.
