Rifles were pointed at me. They didn't even scream for me to surrender, instead firing a hail of bullets which bounced off me. I frowned deeply. Wow, so shoot first before screaming surrender while I'm half-dead? I moved in, flashing before an NWO Soldier, who got spooked and aimed the barrel at my head.
Before he could pull the trigger, I punched him in the chest, launching him backward, hitting some fellow soldiers who joined him, the floor groaning. I rolled my eyes as they continued to shoot at me. In high-speed, I slammed, punched, and kicked any soldier who got in my way. My fifteenth victim was unfortunately used as a bat. He could only scream in terror as his body collided with his friends.
I spun him before letting go, crashing against a couple of NWO Soldiers who were trying to run away. None of them is dead. Broken ribs and regretting their life decisions definitely. Dead? Nope. Only thirty seconds have passed, and I have already dealt with thirty soldiers; they groaned on the ground, too hurt to get up. I heard a loud thud, turning around to see three Paladins.
The middle one shot a missile at me from its wrist. Time slowed down for me. I looked at the beaten NWO soldiers and then at the Paladin. I grit my teeth, so they don't even care about their comrades' lives. I zoomed to face the slowed-down missile, which was roughly my height but was thinner than me. I grabbed it before spinning around several times and then releasing the projectile back to them.
The two other Paladins managed to jump away, but one of them was too slow and got caught by the blast. The smoke clears to reveal that Paladin's right side was completely mangled with wires and was spitting oil. The Paladin twitched, but before it could do anything else, I shoved it hard, making it fly before crashing into the metal wall. Immediately, I felt another silhouette coming at me. I raised my arms just in time to block a haymaker from the other Paladin. It's strong, I'll admit, but nothing compared to Atlas or Gavin.
It didn't make much effort to push the robotic arm away and then flew at high speeds to crash into the Paladin's Pilot cockpit. His eyes widened seeing me inside his machine.
"Yo," I said before grabbing him, before I launched both of us out of the suit, destroying the head.
He screams as we stay fifty feet in the air. He began furiously headbutting me, but after the third time, he whimpered, his helmet cracked from the repeated headbutts.
"You good now? Okay, where's Arc and all the other cores?"
He only responded by desperately punching me in the face, screaming while doing so. I rolled my eyes, sighing.
"Listen, buddy, hitting me in the face isn't a good idea, especially when we're high up."
I said, in between him smashing his fist against my face, which didn't damage me whatsoever. I sighed irritably at this dude. Then I heard the sound of multiple choppers approaching me. I turned around just in time to see one of them firing a rocket at me. It was quickly coming at me, and I glanced at the guy I was holding, who was still punching me in the face. I shook my head before I tossed him higher to the sky, his scream fading.
I raised my arms to block the rocket, which exploded. While it didn't hurt, it definitely rattles my ears every time something explodes on my face. They fired more machine guns, not only that, the other NWO Soldiers and the still functioning Paladins fired at me. I cracked my neck. If they aren't playing nice, then I don't have to either. I begin to spin, slowly at first, before gaining speed.
"Cyclone Breaker!"
As soon as I shouted my special attack, I moved even faster. Not long after, my speed created a tornado that sucked anything nearby. Helicopters, soldiers and even the Paladins got sucked into the vortex and are now helplessly spinning around the tornado I made. I stopped spinning, which instantly made the whirlwind vanish.
This caused the soldiers to start falling, screaming their hearts out. I felt a twinge of anger because of that. Those Russian Soldiers they killed, they were probably screaming too. A part of me wanted to watch them fall, but the bigger part of me said otherwise. That's not my job; they'll get what's coming to them later. Right now, I need to focus on my job: Being A Superhero.
I flew in and grabbed an NWO Soldier from falling before punching him in the face, knocking him out. Hey, I may not want to kill them, but sending them to the hospital is fair game. I dropped the knockout soldier down to the ground. I looked up to see there were a lot of people still falling helplessly in the sky. I flew up to the sky to save them and also punched them to knock them out.
After doing this countless times, I pretty much made everyone go unconscious, even the soldiers from the helicopters or piloting the Paladins are safe. Bruised, but alive and breathing. I looked around, nodding to myself.
"And that's how it's done!" I smirked, mentally patting myself on the back.
"Not quite, Red," Gavin called out, prompting me to raise a brow.
"Look around, they might be unconscious and hurt, but they are still heavily armed and armoured soldiers. Try not to make it difficult for the squad to take back the base."
Drat, he's got a point. It would be irresponsible for me to leave these guys here. Still, I got somewhere else to go, like the other bases. I doubt there is any nearby prison to keep these punks, and even if I did, it would take a massive amount of CE to move this many people. That meant…
I took a deep sigh. I hope nobody sees this, well, aside from Gavin. I stripped their armour. Yuck, I'd better hope this is the last time this stupid crap happens. After stripping everyone, I tossed all their armour and weapons in the air before I disintegrated them with my laser eyes.
[CE : 24%]
I smirked, admiring my handiwork, by which I meant seeing the beaten-up NWO Soldiers. Maybe next time they'll try to find an honest living, once they get out of prison, of course. My smirk quickly vanished, seeing the corpses of the Russian Soldiers littered everywhere now because of Cyclone Breaker. I swallowed. I knew it was necessary to use that move. But still, I didn't want to disturb the dead by making more of a mess.
I let out a shaky breath, clenching my fist. There is nothing I can do for them.
"Red, you…have to keep going. They'll get the proper burial once this is all over."
I unclench my fist. Taking a moment to stare at the blue sky. After several moments of quiet, I released a heavy sigh, grabbing a chocolate bar from my utility belt. After several candy bars, I was once again back to 100% Cosmic Energy.
"All right, so what now?"
"We need to investigate this area further. Why don't we go to that huge building over there? It's locked, but I'll just hack the doors in no time."
My eyes drifted to that large, towering building. The way it shadowed everything made it ominous. Honestly, my heart skipped a beat, though I shoved that fear down. I just have to keep moving forward. I steadily walked towards the building, but stopped after the fifth step.
I looked back at the dead Russian Soldiers. Despite their decaying bodies, their faces seemed peaceful, as if all was right in the world.
"Thank you for your service." I gave them a nod before jogging ahead.
RED
Somewhere…Nearby…
JUSTICE
He watched the scene using his drone, flying to watch the brawl. That boy, Red Justice, the one who beat him back in Canada. That foiled his greatness and his plans to cement his name in history forever. Now the entire world knows him as the guy who lost a child. The very thought made his blood boil.
But he settled down. After all this time, it's going to be different. He raised a brow when the brat suddenly stopped jogging on his way to the main building. He looked directly into the camera before his visor opened, and almost instantly, he lost connection to the drone. His teeth clenched, he was furious, but at the same time, he was excited.
Finally, the second round of their battle. This time, Atlas would be crowned the victor. With the machine he's piloting, no one could stop him, not even the mighty Red Justice!
