He rises from the ruins of the Capital city, battered and bruised, his armor had dents in it and his crimson cape is had been torn up. His friends are nowhere to be found. Roman realizes that they, along with his king, could be in great danger. Suddenly, a demon runs up behind him, who he is able to quickly take out. He makes a run for the center of the Capital, slaughtering loads of other demons in his path with his greatsword.
He enters the central capital, pillars fallen, dead soldiers all over and the infrastructure crumbling in on itself. He rushes up the double staircase, where at the top is where the throne room is located. He opens the double door to see his king having been impaled by several spears while on his throne.
"My Leigh!", he crys as he falls to his knees.
However, within the flames appears another entity. A four armed demon, standing at 8 feet tall with markings on its arms and torso, and razor sharp claws that could cut a man in two with ease. Roman charges it it in a blind rage, yet gets stopped with measly finger.
He's thrown against one of the still standing pillars, knocking him unconscious. The demon smiles with a toothy grin before turning to the kings corpse. He approaches him and sticks out one of his arms as he begins to absorb the kings soul.
When he finishes, he causes the ceiling to collapse with a wave of his hand while Roman is still unconscious, yet before he could be crushed underneath the rubble, he is saved and taken somewhere else.
He wakes up in a forest, next to a bonfire which is where his twin brother, the Flame Samurai, Raymond along with Grant the Bludgeoner and Gideon the Spearsman are sitting.
"Oh, you're awake", says Raymond.
"What the hell happened and where are we?", Roman asks.
"Raymond saved you and we are currently in the Great Boreal Forest"
"I had witnessed a four armed demon in the throne room. Know anything about that?", Raymond asks.
"That bastard killed the king and stopped one of my swings with a finger"
"We should alert the other kingdoms about this before the demonic army spreads", Grant states.
"Very well, we shall head out in the morning", Raymond replies. "Right now, our main objective should be to gather food"
He gives Roman back his greatsword and tasks Grant and Gideon with going out to find food while the both of them guard the bonfire.
"Well, looks like it's just you and me then", Raymond chuckles.
Roman stays silent, looking down at the snow.
"Not talking much, eh? I understand"
"Brother, have you any recollections of the incident"
"Which one?"
"When our parents died. Because when I saw all the destruction, I felt, what the humans call "Deja vu"
Raymond pauses for a second to ponder. "Now that you mentioned it, it did feel familiar, as if history was repeating itself, except this time we weren't separated, and although we will have to separate soon enough, there shall be nothing that separates our bond as brothers"
"You're right", Roman sighs in a sort of relief.
Suddenly, the sound of a goat could be heard from nearby. They stare off into the forest in confusion when Grant and Gideon come running back in fear.
"What happened?", Raymond asks.
"There here!", Gideon exclaims.
Roman asks, "What are you waffling on about?", when suddenly, a demon on horseback wielding a spear emerges from the shadows and tries to skewer one of them.
Roman leaps forward as he takes the spear to the abdomen as he slices of the demons head. Raymond draws both of his blades and coats them in flames as the other two prepare their weapons as well. Roman takes the spear out of his abdomen and throws it away as he prepares to attack.
Four more spear wielding horsebacks charge in from all directions. Roman and Raymond, using their swords along with their height advantage, manage to cut them down with ease. They are bombarded once more from all around, yet are still standing.
Another one comes out from the shadows on foot in full black plate armor. They prepare their weapons and go in for the kill.
"Release!", it yells.
The four stop in their tracks until a large, hulking, armored beast appears right behind them, in an attempt to crush one of them. Fortunately, they managed to move just in the nick of time. It decides to target Roman and hits him hard enough that he is knocked into a tree. Raymond is momentarily distracted which allows the demon spearman to impale him through his abdomen. He shouts in pain as Gideon attacks it to get it away from them.
Grant assists Roman by climbing on the demons back and pummeling his head with his war hammer. It gets angrier as it reaches for its back in an attempt to get him off yet it cannot reach. As Roman gets back on his feet, the demon decides to purposely fall on its back, in order to get Grant off. He lets go as he is picked up by one of his legs and is thrown at his comrade.
While the two are confused, Roman starts to get pummeled by the demons fists, to the point of breaking his helmet, revealing his tan, bearded face. He begins to bleed from his mouth and nose before blocking one of the hits, and retaliating with a slash to the chest.
Gideon and Raymond hold their own against the demonic spearman until it ignites its spear in hellfire. Raymond uses his flames to conjure up a fireball to shoot at the demon, yet it blocks it.
"Come forth", it says as summons dozens of demonic soldiers at its command. Half of them stay at the spearman's side and the other half run to assist the beast.
"Fuck!", Raymond shouts.
The commander points his spear at a nearby tree and fires. Fortunately, the tree is next to the beast and falls on top of it, causing a distraction, allowing Roman to land another slash on its chest.
Unfortunately however, a fire had been started. Raymond is distracted and is pierced through his back. Gideon tries to help, yet ends up getting pinned to the ground.
Roman finds himself in a sticky situation as Grant is still on the floor as the other two are being held in a hostage like situation as he is being held at spearpoint. The fire is still growing, he must hurry. He picks up his sword and begins to rush through the swarm of demons, even while having several spears stuck into his body, he still pushes through, giving his dark brown hair a tint of blood red.
The commander is waiting for him to get to him. He stops before he can be impaled by the commander's spear. It's a trap, the beast is right behind him and pushes him into the spear.
Roman spits blood into the face of the commander, but before he could retaliate, Gideon skewers the commander through the head. Grant comes from behind the beast and uses the pointed side of his war hammer to jab it in the eye.
Roman quickly pulls himself away from the commander's spear and assists Grant with the beast. Raymond manages to free himself and assist Gideon in killing the commander. Gideon pulls his spear out of the commander's head as Raymond stabs him though his neck and then slices his head in half.
As the other two are fighting the beast, Roman continuously is loosing blood because of the puncture wounds. Gideon and Raymond notice this and decide to intervene as Gideon rushes over and skewers the beast in its abdomen. Grant uses his hammer to drive the spear deeper.
The beast becomes more angered, Grant uses this to land consecutive strikes to the beasts head. The beast knocks him away and targets Roman as he leaps forward towards him. He is knocked into a tree, causing the spears to go in deeper. Raymond distracts the beast with a fireball which allows for his brother to come up from behind to pierce it though the back. This allows Grant to land a heavy hit on one of its horns, severaly damaging it.
Gideon stabs it through its other eye, as Roman lands the killing blow, slicing its head off completely.
Before they could celebrate, Roman faints.
