Thanks to Anya's persuasive tongue, they finally managed to comfort Kurenai Yuhi. Naturally, the nickname "Red-sensei" was officially retired—no one would dare use it anymore.
When they returned to the main group, most people had already finished eating their ramen. Some diligent ninjas were even helping with cleanup—including Rin Nohara and Obito. Even Kakashi found himself roped into helping with the cleaning. Rin Nohara, Obito, and Kakashi got along quite harmoniously.
Seeing this scene, Anya couldn't help but sigh: Minato really knows how to handle students.
As for the remaining young ninjas, most gathered in small groups chatting casually. The girls talked about the Eight Trigrams, occasionally bursting into laughter. It seemed there wasn't much for entertainment—they looked pretty bored...
Fortunately, Anya had anticipated this. Soon, many outsiders came over and started setting up tables and chairs. Then they placed numerous playing cards on each table. Each card had unique, eye-catching designs that quickly drew everyone's attention.
"Huh, what are these? Haven't seen them before."
"Don't tell me these are gambling cards."
"That can't be. They look different."
Once all the tables and chairs were set up, a man who looked like a boss walked toward Anya with a smiling greeting: "Oh my, honored ninja sir, your creativity is simply amazing! We've successfully completed the tabletop game cards you requested after working nonstop through yesterday night. Now we're here waiting for you to inspect our results."
This shop owner originally specialized in making weapons and game equipment. When Anya first approached him, he thought Anya was just messing around. But once he listened carefully, he couldn't help but admire Anya's brilliant ideas.
Anya casually pulled out a bunch of cash from their pocket and handed it over: "Your efficiency is impressive, boss. Here's the final payment."
"No need," the boss waved his hand. "Honored ninja sir, may I ask if I can have exclusive rights to produce these cards in the future? Of course, I'll give you royalties. How does that sound?"
"Oh, really?"
Anya originally thought it was boring, so they randomly recreated some tabletop card games from their previous life to pass the time. They never expected this boss to actually see its commercial potential. Naturally, Anya had no reason to refuse and nodded in agreement.
After the boss left, Anya clapped their hands to gather everyone's attention and loudly announced: "These are fun new party games. Each table has a different game, and the rules have been written on the tables. Everyone can choose whatever interests you. I believe you'll enjoy them."
Everyone eagerly took seats at the various tables. Sure enough, soon they were completely immersed in these novel card games. Of all the games, Werewolf became the biggest hit.
Even the usually cold Kakashi showed great interest, sitting down at a Werewolf table. As expected, Rin Nohara, Obito, and Might Guy also followed him to sit at the same table.
Anya found this particular group interesting and approached to ask: "Got the rules? Do you need a judge? I can do it."
Rin Nohara readily agreed: "Okay."
"Werewolf is considered an easy tabletop game to pick up, but truly mastering it requires a lot of logic. New players rarely win when they're assigned the werewolf role.
That made the game pretty entertaining. When Might Guy got the werewolf card, his nervous look gave him away right away, and he was the first voted out in the first round.
As for when he got the seer role, that was nothing short of a disaster. His over-the-top surprise was basically joy written all over his face. Without a doubt, he was killed by the werewolves in the first round, making him arguably the least impactful player in the game.
Obito was even worse. When he became the seer, during the first round he identified Nohara Rin as a werewolf, but shockingly jumped out to declare her innocent. In the second round, Obito got eliminated, proving he was the seer and that Nohara Rin was innocent. This left everyone super confused, and in the end, the werewolves came out on top. Poor Obito—playing the seer got him roasted big time, almost to the point of getting kicked out of the gaming group for good.
As the fun tabletop game went on, the sky slowly turned darker. At this moment, another group of people entered carrying various prepared ingredients and tableware that soon covered the grassy area. They also arranged a large pile of firewood on the lawn resembling a pyramid. The delicious food quickly caught everyone's attention.
"Wow, so much delicious food!"
"Let me see, there's wagyu beef, tuna, lobster, pufferfish, and crab."
"Heaven, this feast is too extravagant! All this is for us to eat?"
After these people finished arranging everything and left, Anya smiled slightly and formed hand seals with both hands: [Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!]
All the stacked firewood ignited instantly, lighting up the previously dimming environment and adding a fiery atmosphere.
Anya spoke to the young ninja illuminated by the firelight: "The bonfire party officially begins! Everyone, enjoy yourselves!"
Someone questioned hesitantly: "Really?"
Anya replied: "Of course."
Accompanied by thunderous cheers, everyone enthusiastically started grilling various ingredients. Fresh ingredients caused mouths to water, the aroma of roasting meat and drifting smoke together with the charred firewood created an irresistible scene. Soon after came wave upon wave of delighted cheers from enjoying the delicious food.
Watching this scene unfold, Anya smiled again and sat by the river. This was probably the last happy time for these young ninja. Once the Third Battle commenced, who knew how many would survive.
But none of that really mattered anyway — those weren't their problems to worry about. After all, as long as the people they cared about stayed alive, everything else was fine.
"Here, I grilled this specially for you. Taste it quickly." Kurenai Yuhi clearly noticed Anya leaving early and came over with a skewer of perfectly grilled meat.
Anya happily accepted it, ate one bite, then wearing an expression of deep satisfaction said: "Truly heavenly delicacy! Nothing could compare to such delicious barbecue."
Although she knew full well that Anya's acting was exaggerated, Kurenai still happily sat down beside him and leaned against his shoulder, enjoying this peaceful tranquility.
Suddenly, a deafening roar exploded across the sky."
At dozens of meters high, a dazzling firework suddenly bloomed. Vivid bursts of color tore across the night sky, quickly joined by countless other fireworks as though racing to keep up. In an instant, the once silent night sky blazed with light, like a city that had forgotten how to sleep.
"Woah, it's so beautiful," Kurenai Yuhi couldn't help but exclaim.
Anya grinned and said, "I'm glad you like it. I bought all the fireworks in Konoha just for this."
Hearing that, Kurenai's eyes widened in shock. Suddenly, she realized, "So it was you who sponsored today's outing?"
Anya shrugged. "Who else would be such a big sucker?"
"Why did you do that?"
Anya naturally replied, "Isn't it obvious? I wanted to apologize to you. You were so mad yesterday—invite you alone? You'd never have said yes. So I brought everyone along instead. See? I'm not just some kid handing out candy anymore…"
Before Anya could finish speaking, a warm, soft body suddenly threw itself at him. His lips tingled with a mix of heat and tenderness.
Well then... looks like I got ambushed with a kiss again.
