Chapter 46 - Chapter 44

The God of Thunder became anxious upon hearing this, and with a wave of his hammer, the man had disappeared.

"Queen God, let's talk later," Lock said quickly, taking his leave.

Sif hurriedly saluted and followed.

Rainbow Bridge.

At this time, the Rainbow Bridge was shining brightly, and in the translucent crystal, countless energy rays continued to flow towards the Rainbow Control Room.

The circular pointer-like device in the Rainbow Control Room emitted a strong light, crossed the Asgard cosmic sea, and disappeared into the dark void of the universe.

The energy level was ten thousand times stronger than during normal teleportation.

No need to guess—this seven-colored divine light was directed straight toward the home of the Frost Giants: Jotunheim.

The seven-colored divine light could be strong or weak. If controlled properly, a rainbow channel could be established to transport people anywhere in the universe.

But now it had been enhanced ten thousand times. Anyone who entered would be torn into powder instantly. It was no longer a transmission channel, but a death channel.

On Jotunheim, divine light suddenly descended from the sky and directly hit the Frost Giant's temple. The mountains collapsed, and the earth shattered!

As the energy of the colorful divine light increased, the earth's crust kept being overturned. If not stopped, it would pierce through the crust and ignite the planet's core.

At that time, the entire Jotunheim would explode like a balloon.

"Loki! What are you doing?!" Thor demanded sternly.

Loki replied: "What am I doing? I'm proving to Father that I am worthy of being his son! I saved his life, and I destroyed the hateful race of Frost Giants. From now on, we will never again have to worry about war between the two worlds."

"You are too willful! We are not qualified to decide the survival of an entire race. Stop it immediately!"

On Earth, the God of Thunder could sacrifice his life for ordinary humans. Now, seeing an entire race about to be destroyed, how could he ever agree?

"Hahahaha! I can't stop it anymore, my brother. Just wait and enjoy the show."

Thor grew furious and struck Loki with lightning.

But wherever the lightning passed, Loki disintegrated—it was an illusion.

The real Loki suddenly appeared behind Thor, and the scepter in his hand emitted divine light, nearly knocking Thor off the Rainbow Bridge.

Thor raised his hand, calling Mjolnir back. But when it struck Loki, the trickster vanished again—another illusion.

Thor didn't want to get dragged into this game, so he rushed toward the Rainbow Control Room. But Loki ambushed him again, blocking his way.

"Lock, go to the control room! Pull out the Guardian Sword!" Thor shouted.

"Alright!"

Lock charged straight for the control room.

Suddenly, Loki appeared in front of him, stabbing with his scepter.

Without hesitation, Lock's body sprouted eight arms—up, down, left, right, back, and forth—all striking at once in a barrage of fists.

For a while, his arms were nothing but afterimages, his torso nothing but movement. Only his two legs remained fixed on the ground.

"Bang bang bang bang bang bang…" The sound of fists hitting air was dense like firecrackers.

Then one strike connected—his hand tightened around something solid.

"Oh!"

The real Loki was ripped from the void, sent sliding dozens of meters away, his chest dented, his face twisted in pain.

"You dare play illusions in front of me? See if I don't kill you!"

But Lock didn't stop to pursue. He let Loki fall aside and ran straight to the Rainbow Control Room.

At this time, the Control Room was dazzling, golden divine light pouring out in waves.

Even with his eyes closed, the radiance pierced through his eyelids, giving the illusion of blindness.

Lock wanted to rush inside—but he couldn't.

The pressure of the light was too strong, forming a natural shield of energy around the control room.

Lock braced himself with both arms, pushing forward step by step.

But halfway in, the ground beneath him gave way. The hard crystal floor powdered under the force, leaving him unable to anchor himself. The pressure shoved him back immediately.

He tried several more times. Each time, failure.

"Roarrrrrrr…!"

If gentleness didn't work, then violence would.

Lock exploded with strength three times greater than the Hulk's and slammed forward!

But even that was useless. The light pressure was like striking cotton—absorbing everything, giving nothing back.

Lock's heart sank. Just the leaked energy alone was so powerful. He couldn't even approach it with all his strength. How terrifying must the force Jotunheim was enduring right now be?!

Sure enough, against the power to destroy worlds, human strength was still too small.

"Thor! I can't get in. Lend me your hammer!"

Lock stretched out his hand. Thor felt Mjolnir tugged away, and he quickly released it.

The hammer flew into Lock's grasp. With his massive strength, plus the divine thunder within Mjolnir, he swung hard at the Guardian Sword.

But it was useless!

He forced forward a little, but then was blasted back by the light pressure, ricocheting like a cannonball.

Damn it—still no good?! Lock cursed silently.

No wonder Loki had said it couldn't be stopped. No one could approach the control room until its energy burned out.

Lock stepped back, thinking fast.

Then he noticed—there was pressure inside the control room, but not on the pointer device outside, the one emitting the rainbow light.

That device was a sphere, rotating at high speed, with a pointer jutting forward.

It was called a pointer, but at this scale it was like a colossal barrel.

Rainbow light streamed from its tip, disappearing into the void.

To concentrate the energy, the sphere was sealed tightly, so no divine light leaked.

Lock narrowed his eyes, then leapt up.

"Ahhhh—!"

He pressed his hands onto the spinning sphere. Flesh and blood tore instantly. Even his Hulk-like body, usually impervious to cannon fire, was shredded against this device.

But gritting his teeth, Lock forced his arms to wrench the pointer upward.

From a distance, Thor's eyes went wide. He cried out: "Lock, no—!"

But the roar of the machinery drowned everything. The sphere's grinding hum, the rainbow's vibration, all shook the void—no sound could travel.

Slowly, painfully, Lock tilted the pointer upward.

The massive rainbow beam lifted away from Jotunheim's crust.

Thor panicked.

As a warrior who had lived only on Earth, he had no sense of cosmic scale. To him, the ground was solid and the sky was empty. Any cannon fired upward would hit nothing.

But the universe had no up and down—galaxies lay in every direction.

And Asgard wasn't even a planet, but a flat continent, deceiving the senses further.

Lock didn't understand the Rainbow Bridge's nature.

Its divine light could pierce through endless space, never dissipating, only stopping when it struck an entity.

Such energy could only be blocked by objects at the scale of entire planets.

So when Lock lifted the pointer, all he did was redirect the destruction meant for Jotunheim toward some other unlucky world.

Sure enough—

As the beam rose, it gouged a canyon straight across Jotunheim's surface, then lifted into the void. Stars warped, space disintegrated wherever it passed.

Distant, unknown planets, unlucky and unaware, were annihilated.

Loki stood in the distance, staring coldly at Lock, a cruel smile playing on his lips.

Thor ignored him now, waving his arms frantically at Lock: "Don't push it!!!"

But Lock, misreading the gesture, thought Thor was urging him on.

"Come here and help! I can't hold it up alone!" he shouted back.

Neither could hear the other over the endless grinding roar.

Thor spun his hammer, about to fly over and stop him.

But then he realized—even if Lock stopped, as long as the rainbow beam still shone, worlds would continue to die.

There was only one solution.

Thor raised Mjolnir high—

And slammed it into the Rainbow Bridge!

Lock's eyes went wide. Was Thor an idiot?! He had already changed the trajectory—why was he smashing the bridge?!

He still had beautiful women waiting on Earth, countless plans to fulfill. Did Thor want them both trapped in Asgard for years?

Could it be that Thor thought he wasn't pushing high enough? Then he'd push harder!

"Ahhhh—!"

Lock bellowed: "Idiot! Don't smash it!!"

But Thor couldn't hear.

"Boom!"

The pointer shifted again, the beam moving higher.

Lock shouted louder: "Bastard! Don't smash it!!"

Thor struck again.

"Don't push it!"

"Ahhh!"

"Don't smash it!"

"Boom!"

"Don't push it!"

"Ahhhh!"

"Don't smash it!"

"Boom!"

"Don't push it!"

"Ahhhhh!"

"Don't smash it!"

"Boom!"

"Don't—!"

"NOOOOOO!!!"

And finally, the quarrel neither could hear ended with Thor's victory.

"BOOM!!!"

The Rainbow Bridge shattered.
