Time resumed.
Every champion on the battlefield stopped for a second.
The Uweron mages preparing their spells hesitated, their magic circles flickering uncertainly. The Valaross warriors who had been walking back toward the fortress stopped, as confusion settled over their faces.
For a brief moment, the dimension itself seemed to hold its breath. Then, as if nothing had happened, everyone continued moving.
The Valaross champions who had been retreating blinked and looked around. One of them, a warrior from Skallgard, frowned and muttered, "Why are we heading back?"
Another champion, a mage from Orathia, shook her head. "I… I don't know. We should be fighting."
The confusion spread through the group as they glanced at each other, trying to piece together why they had been walking away from the battlefield in the first place.
Then, without another word, they turned around and began marching forward again.
Their magic had returned.
