Ringing...
"Argh who is calling me up this early?" I woke up from my sleep, my phone was ringing obviously it was the delivery man. I picked up my phone without even looking at the screen"
📱.. Hello?
"Hello Ms Alessia, it's Dr Martin" oh it was the doctor, I got out of the blankets and started walking towards the window I was still holding my breath, I was so curious to hear what the Dr has to say
📱...Doctor Martin is everything ok?" I asked him
"Actually I'm really sorry to say this b-bbut" he stammered
📱... But what? Please get to the point! What happened? How is my Aunty? Is she ok?
"By the way, Mrs Gini couldn't make it. She's dead. We tried our best but w..." I removed my phone from my ear and dropped it. I couldn't believe his words, How can she be dead. I really wanted to hold my tears but I couldn't hold them anymore, tears started going down my cheeks.
"Alessia" Mandy interrupted, I wiped my tears quickly and turned to her, she looked at me straight in the eyes and noticed that I was crying...
"You are crying? What happened?" She asked. Before I could answer, we both heard a knock on the gate, definitely this time it was the delivery. I couldn't gather the strength to go to the gate, so I sent Mandy to receive the goods. As soon as she goes out, I grabbed my head and screamed. "Why Aunt Gini, out of all the people why her? How am I going to tell Mandy that her mother is nomore? When will these problems ever end?" I asked myself a lot of questions
In no time Mandy returned with a plastic bag and gift bag, when she opened the door, she found me sitting on the floor with tears in my eyes...
"Alessia what's wrong? Is my mother ok?" She asked. I shook my head, feeling so broken and lonely
"Is she dead?" She asked
"Mandy I am so sorry, I am truly sorry. She is gone"
Surprised "What? H-how can my mother die?"
"She's dead." I added. Seems like Mandy was not believing me, I was expecting her to scream or cry but she kept looking at me and I said
"What's wrong? She is dead Mandy. I am telling the truth. I just received Dr Martin's call right now"
(Crying) No, no, I think he is lying, my mother is not dead" she replied. I walked closer to her and gave her a hug and whispered
"It's okay Mandy, I am with you. Don't cry, you still have me. I am your family. Let's go to the hospital"
"No Alessia they are lying. I still want my mom"
"Don't worry, she's fine ok. Neither do I. I'm not believing that she is dead. Let's go to the hospital and see for ourselves"
We couldn't open the stuff which was delivered, we couldn't get time, we closed the doors and headed to the hospital, without time we arrived at the hospital and we went to Aunt Gini's room. When I opened the door I was so surprised to see the police and other doctors inside, I rushed to Aunty Gini hoping she was still alive but she was already covered with a white sheet...
Mandy: Mom?? No, no mom wake up? Please somebody wake my mom"
"Please take her out, we need evidence, we don't want noise, take that little girl out"
Mandy: No please don't take me out, she is my mother. Can I see her one last time. Alessia please stop them. I want to be with my mom"
Alessia: It's ok Mandy, calm down please.
Mandy: Mom hold on I still need you, come back I still don't want to be with you. I'm still young to be left alone in this world"
Alessia: You'll never walk alone Mandy. I am with you"
Mandy: But you can never replace my mother Alessia"
"Please take her out now" the police officer said. I looked at the police officer and begged him to leave Mandy
"Leave her, let her be please. It's her mother." I said, they seem to understand and quickly let go of Mandy....
Ringing.....
It was David, I wanted you to ignore him but I picked up and said
"Hello?"
📱.. Where are you? I want you to meet someone very special" he said
"Aunt Gini is dead. I am at the hospital right now. So I can't meet that special person of yours. I need to be with Mandy here, she needs me the most"
📱... What??? I'll be there in less than 15 minutes"
"Okay"
The call disconnected. As soon as I finished answering the phone one of the nurses pointed to me and shouted
"She is the suspect, she killed her Aunt"
"What? Are you all crazy? How can I kill my own Aunt? Do you have any proof of what you are saying?" I asked them since all the police and doctors were looking at me, it seems like I had killed Gini.
"You're a killer? A liar and a shameless woman? She's the one who seduced Mr Ethan, she wanted to get married to Ethan but Mr Ethan didn't give her a chance. Now she killed her own Aunt"
Mandy: Stop everyone. Alessia will never do that. Do you have any proof?"
" Yes we have the proof" said one of the doctors and held my hand, I was confused and lost, didn't know what to do. They opened Gini's face and saw Aunt's throat was reddish meaning she had died of strangulation, and also her throat had sketches of nails, meaning she didn't die herself, someone killed her, I was so shocked when I saw the nail next to her that was broken it was my nail, I had purple nails, I looked at my fingers and saw 1 nail that wasn't broken. Same as it was on Aunt Gini's throat...
Mandy then took that nail, she looked at me and asked
" Alessia you have purple nails?.And 1 one of your nails is missing? Your missing nail was found on my mother's throat? And also it showed that she was strangulated by someone with nails??? A-are you the one who killed her?" She asked
"I didn't kill her, listen everyone. I agree I lost my nail, I don't know where and how but I swear I didn't do it. Mandy you can believe me right?"
"I wish I could but this is obvious. You killed her? You saw that the bills have increased that's why you killed her"
"Mandy which bills are you talking about?"
"My mother and your unborn baby" she shouted, all the people in the room turned to me with faces full of surprises
"Is she pregnant?". One of the nurses asked, the doctors kept looking at me alongside the police
"It now makes sense, she was in a hurry to marry billionaire Ethan because she wanted to blame him for her unborn child, she is pregnant with a fatherless child"
"Can you imagine?"
"Yes I agree I am pregnant, and the father of the baby doesn't matter to you. But I didn't kill my Aunt"
"Who is going to believe you now? You slut?"
"Police officer arrested her please"
"Alessia I loved you, I didn't know you were this cruel! Why did you kill her? You killed her because of jealousy, you didn't have parents so you wanted the same to me" Mandy yelled, I really wanted to make them believe that I wasn't the one who killed her but it was too late.
I walked closer to Mandy, hoping she'll believe me but she was already siding with the doctors, nurses and the police. The nail which everyone had seen to Aunty Gini's throat was really mine but I didn't even know how it reached her. Despite how it broke, why didn't I feel anything? As I was still wondering, I quickly remembered the doctor who was treating my Aunt, the doctor who called me... Dr Martin. I turned back to everyone and said
"Where is Doctor Martin? He can trust me. Please ask him where is he? Yesterday when I left the hospital I left Gini alive, ask him please"
"He's not around at the moment but let me call him" one of the nurses said while dialing his number
📱.. Hello doctor Martin. The patient you were treating is dead, do you have any idea who killed her?
"It's Alessia, she's behind it" Dr Martin replied
"What? He is lying"
"Police please arrest her"
"NO ONE IS TOUCHING HER" A voice came from the door.. We all turned around and saw.....
