Chapter 34 - FACE-OFF

*Chapter 34: face-off*

The moment of truth had finally arrived. Sophia, Alexander, and Victor stood outside Alexander's father's office, their hearts racing with anticipation.

Victor nodded to them, and they took a deep breath before entering the office. Alexander's father looked up from his desk, a smug expression on his face.

"Ah, Alexander," he said. "I see you've brought your little friend. How quaint."

Sophia's eyes narrowed, her anger simmering just below the surface. "We're here to bring you to justice," she said, her voice firm.

Alexander's father laughed. "You think you can take me down? I have connections everywhere. I'll ruin you both."

Victor stepped forward, a small smile on his face. "I think you'll find that your connections aren't as strong as you think they are," he said. "We have evidence, and we're going to take it to the authorities."

Alexander's father's expression faltered for a moment, before he regained his composure. "You'll never be able to prove anything," he sneered.

But Sophia could see the fear lurking behind his eyes. He knew he was cornered, and he was desperate.

The confrontation was intense, with both sides refusing to back down. But in the end, it was Alexander's father who cracked.

"You'll pay for this," he snarled, his face red with rage. "Mark my words, you'll regret this."

Sophia smiled, a sense of triumph washing over her. "I don't think so," she said. "You're going down, and there's nothing you can do to stop it."

As they left the office, Sophia felt a sense of relief wash over her. It was finally over. Alexander's father would face justice, and they could start to rebuild their lives.

But as they walked out of the building, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling that this wasn't feeling quite right. She glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"Alexander," she whispered. "I think we should get out of here. Now."

Alexander's eyes locked onto hers, and he nodded. "Let's go," he said.

As they walked away from the building, Sophia felt a sense of unease. She knew that this wasn't over yet. There would be repercussions, and she needed to be prepared.

But for now, she was just grateful that it was finally over. She had faced her fears, and she had come out on top.
