*Chapter 2: The facade*
Sophia's mind was still reeling from the conversation with Alexander. She had agreed to pretend to be his girlfriend, but she had no idea where to start. As she walked back to her office, she couldn't help but wonder what she had gotten herself into.
Alexander, on the other hand, seemed to be taking things in stride. He had already instructed his assistant to make arrangements for Sophia to attend a charity gala with him that evening. Sophia was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she would be attending a high-profile event as Alexander's fake girlfriend.
As the day went on, Sophia received a flurry of calls and messages from Alexander's team, discussing everything from her wardrobe to her background story. Sophia was starting to feel like she was in over her head.
When Alexander arrived at her office to pick her up for the gala, Sophia was taken aback by his appearance. He looked dashing in his tuxedo, and for a moment, she forgot that this was all just a ruse.
"You look stunning," Alexander said, his eyes scanning her from head to toe. "Shall we?"
Sophia nodded, taking a deep breath. She was ready to put on a show.
