The lobby doors swung open, and Andre stepped inside first, the sharp scent of fresh paint and coffee hitting his senses. Wei Yuxiang followed lazily behind, hands tucked into his jacket pockets like he had all the time in the world.
"Not bad," Wei murmured, glancing around the modern space. "Bright, lively… not exactly your style, though."
Andre didn't bother replying. His style wasn't the point. He was here to get Wei Yuxiang to the right place for his recording session with Mo Yue—and then disappear into the background.
Unfortunately, disappearing was never an option around Mo Yue.
"Well, if it isn't the great Wei Yuxiang from S City."
The voice came from the far end of the lobby. Mo Yue stood there like he owned the place—sunglasses perched in his perfectly styled hair, a leather jacket slung over one shoulder, and a grin sharp enough to cut glass.
Wei's mouth curved into an amused smile. "Mo Yue. Still making an entrance everywhere you go?"
Mo Yue strode toward them, his boots clicking against the marble floor. "Someone has to keep the industry from being boring."
The two men clasped hands briefly, their grip firm but laced with unspoken competition. Then Mo Yue's gaze slid to Andre, and the smile widened.
"And who's this? Your new assistant?"
Andre's expression didn't shift an inch. "…."briefly look at him to know what he's up to.
"Oh no did you for forget your own assistant, well that would be mean if I must say" stated with a look of interest
Mo Yue tilted his head, pretending to be offended. "Oh, right. My silent shadow. The one who carries my schedule, my coffee, and occasionally my patience."
Andre didn't even blink. "That last part is optional."
Wei chuckled under his breath. "He talks like that to you, too?"
"Like ice water," Mo Yue replied. "If I wasn't so charming, I'd be insulted."
Andre shifted the strap of the folder in his hand. "The director's waiting. We should get started."
Mo Yue ignored him, turning back to Wei. "You know, I've been meaning to work with you. Just never found the right project."
Wei leaned back slightly, smirk playing on his lips. "And now you have me for your album. Lucky you."
"Lucky me? Oh no Xiang, it's lucky you." Mo Yue corrected smoothly. "Not many people can keep up with me in the studio."
Andre exhaled quietly through his nose. "…"
"What is really wrong with this two"
Silence***
Mo Yue shot him a sidelong look. "You, why are you just standing there?, act like an assistant would you?"
"what should I do?," Andre calmly asked
Wei glanced between them, amused. "You two sound like an old married couple."
"Hm really..,Don't start," Mo Yue said, rolling his eyes. "If I'm married to anyone, it's my career."
"Hehehee" Wei laughs with amusement .
Andre pay no mind to them even if he was involved. He'd learned long ago that silence was sometimes the only way to keep his sanity around people.
Just then, Mr. Guo appeared from the corridor. "Gentlemen, the recording room is ready. Mo Yue, Wei Yuxiang, please follow me. Andre—"
"I'll stay here, available when needed ," Andre said smoothly before the sentence finished.
Mo Yue smirked. "Are you trying to ditch your work?"
"More like making sure not to distract the recording ," Andre replied flatly.
"How is that related?"Mo Yue shockingly asked
"….."
Wei laughed outright this time. "I like him."
"You are coming with us!" Mo Yue strictly stated "you're my assistant, act like one and do your job well. I won't tolerate any form of slackness"
"Yes sir" reply calmly
They moved through the hallway toward the studio, Mo Yue walking like a man on a runway, Wei strolling with casual confidence, and Andre trailing behind like a shadow that refused to melt into the background.
At the recording room door, Mo Yue turned to Wei. "Let's see if you can keep up."
Wei's smirk deepened. "I was going to say the same to you."
Andre opened the door without comment, stepping aside to let them in. As they disappeared into the bright space filled with instruments and sound equipment, he wondered—not for the first time—why every day with Mo Yue somehow turned into a circus.
