Somewhere in Europe, Karl Heisenberg lounged in his newly built factory, skimming a document in one hand.
"Info on the Louisiana incident, a bargaining chip from Chris… some juicy stuff here," he muttered.
The file detailed an outsider who aided Chris after Lucas Baker wiped out his team. A girl, barely 20, wielding guns with uncanny skill, who took down Lucas herself. She spoke of Lucas as "like family" she had to stop, regretted not saving Eveline—her "almost daughter"—and was relieved Zoe and Uncle Joe survived. She introduced herself as "Ritsuka Fujimaru, Master of the Chaldea Security Organization" before vanishing. Lucas called her "beloved Ritsuka," a Japanese woman.
"The world's full of weird shit I don't know about," Heisenberg concluded, resuming tweaks on a propeller engine—not Sturm, but close enough. "Weapons are off-limits, but an old-school plane? Should be fine."
Ding-dong!
"Huh?" Heisenberg scratched his head and checked the intercom. A red-haired girl in a black suit stood outside. Business, he figured, and opened the door.
"Are you Karl Heisenberg?" the girl asked.
"Yeah, that's me…"
She looked barely 20, polished in her suit, but different from the usual government suits. Behind her stood a man in a black robe, face half-hidden by a mask, lugging a massive backpack. Next to him was a girl in a familiar black dress…
"Eveline!?" Heisenberg barked. "What're you doing away from Ethan!?"
The girl and Eveline exchanged glances, chuckling. The redhead flashed an ID. It read…
"Nice to meet you. I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru, Master from the Chaldea Security Organization. I'm here to talk about Mother Miranda and her village."
Up close, her face matched the photo in the file.
"Hm, got it," Heisenberg said. "Masters, mages, Servants, huh? So that Eveline's a Servant, not the real deal. You're globe-trotting to stop biohazards, and you heard about the village, so here you are."
"Glad you believe me," Ritsuka said.
Heisenberg sipped coffee, eyeing Ritsuka as she drank hers without suspicion. No guard at all? he thought. The robed man—Dealer—scanned the factory, while Eveline grimaced at her coffee.
"I mean, when Ethan told me on the phone he's got an Eveline too, I figured we'd need him here," Heisenberg said, grabbing his phone. "He's got more to say than me if you want details."
"I'd rather hear about B.O.W.s from you, actually," Ritsuka said.
"C'mon, drop the stiff talk," Heisenberg said. "You're terrible at it."
"Totally obvious, stranger," Dealer teased. "Stick to what you're good at."
"Yeah, Mama," Eveline added. "It doesn't suit you."
"Respectful speech matters, you know… Fine, I'll drop it," Ritsuka pouted. "I worked hard to learn the language here."
Heisenberg grinned at Ritsuka's sulky reaction as her Servants ribbed her.
"Nice effort," he said. "But Eveline's 'Mama'? Didn't think anyone but the Winters would take her in."
"I lost my family too," Ritsuka said. "I get how much it hurts to want one."
"Don't wanna touch that family obsession," Heisenberg said. "Knew a crazy bitch who killed hundreds and ran experiments for it."
"Miranda?" Ritsuka asked.
"Yup. Sacrificed everything for her daughter. Only thing I'm grateful for is this power," he said, waving a hand to levitate a fork and knife from the fridge alongside a cake. The trio clapped, impressed, boosting his mood.
His phone buzzed—Ethan. "He's almost here. Just checking, it's cool to let your Eveline meet him?"
"My Eveline's mostly over her grudge with Ethan… Should be fine, right?" Ritsuka said.
"Ethan's okay unless 'another me' shows up," Eveline said. "Not sure about me, though."
"Your original Eveline's your natural enemy, huh, stranger?" Dealer said.
"Well, I'm not exactly the original either," Eveline E said.
"!?" All four jumped.
Eveline E popped up from the center table, startling Heisenberg, Ritsuka, Dealer, and Eveline R. A knock came, and Heisenberg's powers swung the door open, revealing Ethan. Ignoring him, the two Evelines locked eyes in a silent glare.
"Here I am, Heisenberg," Ethan said. "Whoa, another Eveline…"
"Eveline and Eveline… This is confusing," Heisenberg said. "Let's call Fujimaru's Eveline R and Ethan's Eveline E. Cool?"
"Nice to meet you, Ethan Winters," Ritsuka said. "I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru from Chaldea."
"Uh, hi…" Ethan said. "You sure it's fine leaving them like that?"
"If they can't touch, it's probably okay?" Ritsuka said.
"So you guys can see my Eveline too, huh?" Ethan said.
"I'm infected with the E-type mold, and Dealer's linked to me, so… maybe that's why?" Ritsuka said.
As the adults chatted, the glaring Evelines broke the silence, with Eveline E speaking first.
"Huh, you're not an illusion—you're real, with a physical body," she said. "Pretty cocky."
"And you move freely, untouched by anyone," Eveline R shot back. "Jealous. All I've got is my Mama and best friend to brag about."
"My Ethan—my Papa—is a better parent!" Eveline E snapped. "Ever been told you're a proud daughter?"
"Oh yeah?" Eveline R countered. "Ever been protected with someone's life? Even when you hated them?"
"I got Ethan to accept me in his mind after I killed him there!" Eveline E said.
"I was saved from being killed in my mind!" Eveline R said. "And they died for me!"
The Evelines traded boasts about their "parents," glaring fiercely. Ethan and Ritsuka blushed, mortified.
"My Papa's tougher!" Eveline E yelled. "Lost his hand and just reattached it like nothing!"
"My Mama got blown to bits by a cannon and came back fine!" Eveline R shouted.
"Why's she getting shot by cannons? That's terrifying…" Eveline E said.
"Why's his hand coming off again?" Eveline R replied.
Both Evelines recoiled at their parents' absurd feats. Ethan and Heisenberg eyed Ritsuka warily; Ritsuka and Dealer gave Ethan the same look.
"Ugh, I'm done!" Eveline E snapped. "Ethan, lend me your body! I'll turn Molded Giganto and crush her!"
"Mama, pour all your mana into me!" Eveline R said. "I'll summon Jack with my Noble Phantasm and beat her to a pulp!"
The Evelines, heated, moved to fight, prompting their parents to intervene.
"Stop! That's some serious self-loathing!" Ethan yelled.
"Let 'em go at it in the backyard—I don't care," Heisenberg said.
"Heisenberg!?" Ethan shouted.
"Calm down, Eveline!" Ritsuka said. "Without Chaldea's backup, you'll drain me dry!"
"Got spare Command Spells from Olga Marie, stranger," Dealer said.
"Dealer!?" Ritsuka yelped.
"Fine, let's settle this!" both Evelines declared.
"STOP IT!" Ethan and Ritsuka screamed.
They brawled anyway, and Eveline E lost handily. Even she couldn't beat her Servant self, a being beyond human limits.
