Three days had passed.
Renn had protected many people from the academy and from other kingdoms. He was feeling exhausted and could barely move around, having saved almost a thousand people.
Renn saw the surrounding area and noticed fear on everyone's faces—they were too scared to even go outside.
Renn stood up from his resting place and looked at all of them, then shouted loudly:
"EVERYONE LISTEN TO ME!"
Renn's shout made them turn toward him with confusion, and they almost forgot about the fear they were feeling.
Renn looked at them with confidence in his eyes. The people had gone silent and wanted to listen to him—Renn was the one who had saved them. Lira had helped Renn, but he did all the work protecting the people.
"I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT FEAR ISN'T GOING TO PROTECT US FROM THE GIANT BLOOD!"
Renn paused and let silence take over the place. He saw everyone watching him with expectation and hope, waiting for an answer.
One of them was about to speak when Renn shouted, "SHUT UP!" He saw the guy and silenced him. People were already scared, and some guy wanted to influence them with his negativity. Renn saw through him and shut him down.
After that, everyone's eyes turned to the man, and he hid behind someone's chest. Renn ignored them and started his speech again.
"WE HAVE TO KILL THAT GIANT BLOOD, OR WE HAVE TO WAIT HERE AND DIE!"
People were shocked by his speech, but they didn't know what else to do—if they died, there would be nothing left to see. So all of them started whispering to each other:
"What is he even talking about?"
"How would we be able to kill that Giant Blood?"
"That Giant Blood is just a pool of blood and mana."
People continued whispering about it, forgetting about Renn,.
Renn clapped his hands with mana, and that sound went directly into their minds. Silence fell from just that mana clap, and their eyes turned to Renn again.
"LISTEN TO ME FIRST, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS! YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND MORE PEOPLE HAVE DIED, AND YOU'RE ALL ACTING LIKE COWARDS! IF THEY SAW YOU LIKE THIS, THEY'D FEEL ASHAMED TO BE WITH YOU!"
Renn pointed his finger at all of them, his face contorted with anger, and began explaining their past. He reminded them of what they had done for their family and friends, yet they remembered nothing.
People's heads went down after listening to the truth, and silence fell on the academy hall where all the people were protected by mana shield barriers.
"YOU FUCKING IDIOTS, I KNOW HOW TO KILL THAT GIANT BLOOD!"
I'm lying, but I have no choice. If I don't lie, these fuckers will die with the others without doing anything. And the system returned to normal yesterday—if something happens, I can ask help from the system and request loan points to kill that giant.
"BUT I NEED YOUR HELP TO KILL IT! THERE MIGHT BE CASUALTIES, BUT WE CAN SURVIVE AND TAKE REVENGE ON THOSE THE GIANT BLOOD HAS ABSORBED. WE KILL IT!"
Excited eyes appeared around the hall, and everyone looked excited and ready to show the world their sacrifice for the people they had loved.
"TELL ME, WHO IS WITH ME?"
People raised their hands and shouted aloud:
"ME!" "ME!"
People said in sync, still looking excited to show the world and their families that they weren't cowards and could fight any disaster and kill it. These people weren't idiots motivated by a mere speech—it was their blood that made them feel they needed something to erase all the sadness around them and find their peace.
People were believing in Renn because he had supported them when they were about to die and protected them from other species who were all dying at the hands of the Giant Blood, making it even more giant. Now that Renn had a way to kill the Giant Blood, all of them wanted to at least see that bloody being die with their own eyes. That's why they were excited to show the world and themselves.
Everyone was shouting loudly when two girls came from outside and saw the sight, feeling relief. Renn's eyes went to them—they looked exhausted but were still working for their kingdom. Renn walked to them.
"What happened? Did you find anything about the Giant Blood?"
Elenya and Lira looked back at Renn and sighed. Lira saw the surrounding people—they were staring at them with expectation and belief. She didn't know if telling them was right or not. Lira grabbed Renn's hand, and Elenya went to a corner of the hall where people couldn't hear them.
"We found two weaknesses."
Renn's eyes brightened at the answer, and a smile showed on his face. He was excited that they had finally found anything about the Giant Blood—that thing seemed unkillable, physical attacks hardly worked, and it absorbed mana.
Renn asked with a bright smile, "What is it?"
Lira sighed after seeing Renn's excitement and expectation.
"My magic worked on that Giant Blood, but it takes too much of my mana and barely scratches it."
All of Renn's expectation and hope shattered after hearing this, but still, he had something that worked on that type of beast.
"What about the second one?" Renn had no expectations anymore, but he at least wanted to hear the second weakness so he could do something about the Giant Blood.
Lira looked at Elenya and signaled her to mention the other weakness. Elenya's golden divine eyes were seen by Renn, and he was mesmerized by those eyes. Before Elenya could say something, Renn asked, "What's with your eyes?"
Elenya stared at Renn silently with innocence and politely explained her situation about all the kings and his mother, how she had watched there and saw the slaughter at Aeren's hands.
This shocked Lira, but Renn didn't react much, like he had expected this. Renn also heard that someone had killed Valerius.
Lira was shocked because she had thought Aeren died by her hand and hadn't heard about him since. So Lira was sure about his death and didn't ask about him. But after hearing Elenya, Lira still didn't pursue questions about Aeren.
If she wasn't able to kill him like that, it meant she didn't have a chance to kill Aeren anyway. So she had lost all hope of killing him and would just have to believe in Renn to kill Aeren.
"So this eye came to me on its own," Elenya explained all the details with a sad tone, her lips trembling and tears falling from her eyes. But she courageously wiped her tears, stood confident, and removed the sadness from her face.
"I'm sorry," Renn's eyes went to the ground as he clenched his fist and thought about Aeren, who had also killed Elenya's brother Arin. Renn had just watched and didn't have the power to kill Aeren.
Renn needed more power to kill Aeren. He had thought he now had enough power to kill him, but he was wrong, and the result had become worse. Renn was regretting, but he sighed and asked, "What is the second weakness?"
Renn destroyed his past regrets and wanted to live in the present—he'd think about Aeren later, after the Giant Blood was dead.
Elenya didn't hear his apology and didn't react to him, but she heard his next question.
She exhaled deeply. "We need an artifact that could cut its head clean—then its mana circulation will be destroyed and that Giant Blood will become just a pool of blood. But we don't have an artifact like that, so I don't know."
"Are you sure?" Renn said with excitement and had a smile on his face. Both Lira and Elenya were shocked by his reaction but understood him immediately—that meant he had a mana-cutting artifact.
Renn appeared mysterious in their eyes. Elenya stared at him and pointed her finger at her eye, saying, "Yeah, I'm sure. This eye can see every weakness in others." Though using this eye took so much mana that it made her unconscious.
Whenever Renn saw her eyes, he was mesmerized by them. Renn ignored her eyes and shook his head, then stated:
"Let's go. It's time to kill that Giant Blood."
Renn gripped his fists and raised them to ninety degrees, a smile on his face.
