Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In Qamarad, Four months later

The sky blue limousine move through the desert like a a sharp whisper of steel, the sun was just setting in. Jane Parker sat like a log in the back seat, hand folded, one could tell she was thinking of something with how her face looked, she was so lost in thought.

The air smelt like rosemary. And power. Everything about this place Qamarad, with its angelic skies, cool breeze felt like a disney movie and dangerously familiar.

Just like him, she hadn't seen him since that night, a night of bliss, unforgettable memory, immense pleasure, a sweet manly voice which she couldn't get over, she shivered under his touch, Sheikh Rasheed Al Kareem.

He hadn't been in the plan, not when she reached Qamarad as a reporter for the royal palace, not when she acted like she didn't see him, when he was staring intently at her and certainly not when she went to see him privately in his suite. And now she has returned.

"Miss Parker", the driver called, breaking her out of her thought, she saw him slowing down before the biggest gate she'd ever seen, "we've arrived at the palace".

The palace was so beautiful, it looked unreal, she wandered if she was in Disney land, how could a place be this beautiful, it was like she just entered through the gate of heaven, no matter how many times she told her a self that.

The servant opened her door before she could turn her head, and took her bag, they did this efficiently, no question asked, not even a glance.

In the next minute, she was shown into a huge hall that was filled with beautiful light the crystal chandelier in the room was so big and had beautiful colors, it was so quiet in the hall, that she took only one step and she could hear it loud and clear.

She felt it, Him, ge ws there, somewhere. She turned and there he was at the far end of hall girded in dark robes that were embroided with gold. He looked unreal, his eyes which showed no emotion locked in hers with the same intensity she remembered. Ni feeling, emotionless, no warmth, just intense fire.

"Miss Parker*, he said in his beautiful masculine voice ripping through her. "you kept me waiting"

Jane swallowed "your message want exactly inviting".

A thin mischievous smile appeared on his mouth "still you came"

"There wasn't much of a choice".

"Actually there was " he said coming closer still with the mischievous smile plastered in his face, "but you chose to obey, to come".

Those words moved something in her, confusion, heat, she tried to remain calm but her body had a mind of it own.

He stopped in front of her, she could smell him, he smelled heavenly.

"I need a reporter, an important one, I made arrangements with your firm", he said calmly, "I was expecting you".

Jane's look changed, "and did you make mention of our previous encounter ", she inquired.

"No, but I remember it vividly, it's still very clear in my head", he said with a serious face that she couldn't tell if he meant it in a good way or bad way.

God, he still made her heart quiver, she made butterflies in her tummy, she couldn't help but relive the memory, it was a night she could never forget. " So I flew all the way here from California to do what, do tell, your highness, to relive it?, she asked.

"No", to continue it he said still without emotion.

"Huh", she thought she couldn't hear him clearly, she was shocked, it wasn't what she was expecting.

"You left before the sunrise, no goodbye, no message, I don't believe in unfinished business", he said.

"It was a one night stand not a marriage contract, what were you expecting, breakfast in bed?, she asked irritated.

His expression changed, she couldn't tell what it was, but she saw it.

"Everything carries weight in my word, nothing is casual especially what happens between a man and a woman".

"So what do you want from me now, huh," she inquired.

"I want your time, your presence and I want you to work for me", he said stepping closer.

"Sounds like a trap to me, don't you think".

Rasheed tilted his head, "let's see it as an opportunity unless you didn't feel the same as I did that night".

Of course she did and that was the issue.

"I came here to work", she said picking her words carefully.

"Yes, you'll work, but most of all you'll listen cause I'm the one in charge here", he said.

"And if I say no?", she asked trying hard not to blush, not to give in to the butterflies in her belly.

" Then you return not getting a second invitation", he said as his eyes darkened.

She stood there contemplating whether or not to give in, her was beating so loudly that she eas almost certain he could hear it.

She sighed finally, lifted her head, "where's my room?", she asked

A smile crept at the side of his lip. Dangerous. Satisfied. Dark.

"Next to mine".
