Chapter 70 - 70

Feeling they had browsed enough, the group returned to the same restaurant as last time.

They sat around the table, eating exquisite desserts, and Pamela looked out at the street through the window, saying contentedly, "The weather is really nice today."

No sooner had she spoken than a massive sandstorm roared past the window, and the sky-filling dust instantly obscured the sunlight.

...Qinuo and the others looked at her speechlessly.

This is the second time.

"This has nothing to do with me," Pamela explained innocently.

At the same time, a White figure flew past the window.

"Is that Gwen?"

---

Manhattan

A massive sandstorm raged down the street, finally coming to an abrupt halt beside an armored car at the bank entrance.

"What is that thing?!"

A security guard shouted in terror, and before he could finish, he was violently knocked unconscious by the raging sand.

Another security guard fumbled for his walkie-talkie and yelled, "Armored car hijacked, requesting backup."

The sand in the sandstorm continuously gathered, gradually condensing into a tall man wearing a green striped shirt.

Flint Marko appeared, and he strode into the armored car, loaded two bags of U.S. dollars, and was about to leave.

Siren sounds blared as several Police cars sped up, blocking the intersection.

"Put down the money in your hands."

The surrounding patrol Police got out of their cars one after another, pointing their guns at Flint Marko, their expressions tense and serious.

"I don't want to hurt you all, move aside," Flint shouted a warning, his voice carrying a hint of caution.

"Fire!"

With a command, a barrage of bullets rained down on Flint, instantly piercing his body, yet the edges were not flesh and blood, but crumbling sand.

"I said, move aside!"

One of Flint's arms instantly turned into sand, and he swung it violently.

Countless grains of sand whistled like bullets, accompanied by sharp whooshing sounds.

The Police's faces changed drastically, and they quickly hid behind their cars, the continuous sound of sand impacting the vehicles.

Taking advantage of the Police not daring to show their heads, Flint turned to run in another direction.

Just then, a White figure descended from the sky, instantly shooting out a web that stuck to the money bag in his hand, and with a pull, snatched it away.

"Sandman, that's not yours."

The White figure landed steadily; it was Ghost-Spider Gwen.

"Give me back the money!"

Flint roared furiously, his eyes practically spitting Fire; he was already filled with rage from the Police's gunfire, and now with Spider-Man interfering, he was even more incandescent.

Flint roared and charged at Gwen, countless grains of sand under his control surged towards her like a raging tide.

Gwen dodged and weaved agilely, dancing in the air, while continuously shooting webs, attempting to restrain Flint.

"You're committing a crime, Sandman!" Ghost-Spider said loudly.

"I just need money!"

Flint roared, "This World has never been fair to me, I'm going to fight for myself!"

The two engaged in a fierce chase on the street.

The Police watched nervously from the side, not daring to intervene easily, knowing full well that their firepower seemed to have little effect on Sandman.

The sand gathered into a giant fist, smashing towards Ghost-Spider.

Gwen ran while thinking of a countermeasure; she knew she couldn't let Flint escape like this, otherwise he would continue to commit crimes.

Suddenly, she saw a construction site not far away and had an idea.

Ghost-Spider intentionally led Flint to the construction site.

Flint, intent only on retrieving the money bag, did not notice Ghost-Spider's intention and pursued her relentlessly.

Upon entering the construction site, Ghost-Spider used her webs to swing between various building materials, and Flint's sand attacks were greatly limited here.

He roared in anger, continuously destroying the surrounding structures, trying to find Ghost-Spider.

"You can't escape," Flint shouted.

Ghost-Spider hid behind a massive steel beam, quietly observing Flint's movements.

She saw that Flint's attention was focused on finding her, so she took the opportunity to shoot webs, connecting some heavy construction materials.

When Flint approached, Ghost-Spider pulled the webs with force, and those building materials instantly crashed down on Flint.

Flint had no time to dodge and was heavily pinned underneath.

"Phew, finally done," Ghost-Spider breathed a sigh of relief.

However, just as she thought the matter was resolved, the sand beneath began to stir.

Flint actually broke free from under the building materials, and he became even more enraged.

"You've completely infuriated me!"

Flint's body instantly transformed into a massive, sky-obscuring sandstorm, Pounce Gwen with overwhelming force, as if to completely engulf her in the surging sandstorm.

"Good, let me try this move."

Gwen raised her hand, and a light glowed from the emerald ring on her ring finger.

In an instant, a strong wind suddenly swept up, and a powerful tornado astonishingly rose from the ground.

"No... no!"

Flint tried desperately to manifest and condense his body within the sandstorm, but he had only condensed halfway when the sand forming his body was swept away by the tornado's powerful suction, the sand continuously draining away.

In the blink of an eye, only a raging yellow tornado remained at the scene, and Flint's figure was nowhere to be seen.

"Done!"

Gwen pulled up her mask, revealing the delicate lower half of her face, and let out a long sigh of relief.

It was summer now, and she was fighting in this tight suit, the stuffy feeling making her very uncomfortable.

"It was a big help, I wonder when the big pervert will be back."

Gwen muttered to herself, she kissed the ring in her hand, which seemed to still retain Qinuo's warmth, and she missed Qinuo a little.

She had gone to look for him a few days ago, but only Pamela and his newly adopted goddaughter were home, which left her feeling empty.

"Spider-Woman."

The previous Police and security guards appeared, looking at the stationary tornado in front of them with astonished, wide-eyed expressions.

Gwen pulled down her mask and said:

"Officer, I told you, call me Ghost-Spider, Spider-Woman doesn't sound good."

"Okay, Ghost-Spider."

The officer, who was clearly the leader, said with a smile, his eyes filled with gratitude.

Most of them had a good impression of this Spider who consistently helped maintain public order.

After all, with her around, the Police's casualty rate had significantly decreased.

Although some also believed that she was undermining the Police department's authority and was uncontrollable.
