Chapter 48 - 48

Outside Wayne Manor, Miss Damian stood quietly beside Venom, her small body appearing somewhat stiff.

Being abandoned by her birth parents in such a short time, her not crying or making a fuss already showed a strength far beyond children her age.

Her small face was taut, her eyes filled with stubbornness and confusion, as if she was trying hard to suppress her inner emotions; she was like a small, silent statue, making one's heart ache.

Alfred Pennyworth's eyes were a little red, his gaze fixed on Damian, his heart filled with reluctance. Behind him, the tall building of Wayne Manor looked especially solemn at this moment, its ancient walls seemingly sighing for the impending separation.

Having been with the Wayne Family for decades, he had almost considered Master Bruce his own child. Now, just as he finally had a lovely little granddaughter, she was to be sent away at such a young age.

Bruce also clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning White from the effort.

It was impossible to say that he didn't like this daughter. In five days, Batman hadn't appeared once. Aside from burying himself in potion formulas for the first two days, the rest of his time was spent accompanying Damian.

It was just that Gotham, this dark and decaying city, this World full of danger and chaos, was truly not suitable for a child's growth. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his expression.

Qinuo sent ten containers into Hell, sighing inwardly, "As expected of Bruce, he's considered all of Damian's future needs, from large-scale transportation to small pieces of jewelry, everything is there."

Turning his head to look at Bruce's awkward expression, Qinuo chuckled, "Bruce, why the long face? Don't tell me you think I won't send your daughter back in the future?"

"Is it easy for you to travel between Worlds?" Bruce frowned, a hint of suspicion in his eyes.

"As easy as taking a few steps," Qinuo replied nonchalantly.

"..." Bruce was stunned, momentarily at a loss for how to respond.

Then I've prepared myself mentally for never seeing her again, and even specifically asked Alfred to treat Damian coldly, to sever their emotional ties, to prevent Damian from missing them and developing resentment towards Qinuo.

Alfred Pennyworth didn't care about him; he walked a few steps to Damian, knelt down, and gently instructed her:

"Miss Damian, when you get there, you must be well-behaved and not mischievous. If you are wronged, you must tell Mr. Qinuo.

Remember to eat on time, sleep well, and put on more clothes when it's cold, so you don't catch a chill.

Don't neglect your studies either. Although you're in a new environment, knowledge is always the most valuable wealth. And also, don't try to be strong by yourself; if you encounter difficulties, ask for help, and everyone will like you."

Damian looked at Alfred Pennyworth, her eyes full of confusion. These past few days, she hadn't had to train, hadn't been injured, hadn't had to drink the awful nutrient solution, and could eat sweet little cakes every day.

Although her father seemed very cold, he would tell her stories every night and take her out to play during the day.

"Why are you abandoning me? Is it because I'm too weak?" Damian asked, her voice trembling slightly, "Is that why Mom also left?"

Her small fists were tightly clenched, her eyes red, trying hard not to let the tears fall.

"Miss Damian..."

Tears rolled down Alfred Pennyworth's wrinkled cheeks.

Bruce also froze in place, his lips trembling slightly, wanting to explain but unable to speak.

Qinuo pushed Bruce towards Damian.

"I'm only responsible for taking care of her; don't expect me to give her any fatherly love. I'm still just a baby myself."

Bruce took a deep breath, knelt down, met Damian's gaze, and said in a slightly hoarse voice:

"Damian, it's not because you're weak, and I'm not abandoning you. Daddy loves you, loves you very much, but this World is full of dangers, and Daddy can't always keep you safe.

Giving you to Uncle Qinuo is so you can grow up in a safer place, far from the darkness and strife here. Daddy will always think of you, and when everything gets better, Daddy will bring you home."

Seeing this, Qinuo quickly pulled out his phone to record the scene, a mischievous smile on his face.

"This is one of Batman's rare moments of vulnerability; I have to keep a good memento."

Venom rolled her eyes and returned to his body. The human cub would be hers from now on; there was no rush.

"Daddy..."

Damian paused slightly after hearing Bruce's words, then extended her arms and hugged Bruce, burying her small head tightly in his embrace.

Once Damian's emotions had stabilized.

"Alright, let's go."

Qinuo said, placing Damian in the crook of his arm.

"Qinuo, who is the enemy?" Bruce stared intently at Qinuo, his gaze firm and persistent.

"Are you sure you want to know? It might drive you to despair."

Qinuo frowned. No one knew what Batman, who hadn't yet experienced various invasion wars, would become if he knew about Barbatos in advance.

"I am Batman," Bruce's words were forceful, full of undeniable resolve.

Qinuo sighed, pulled out the Mind Ring, and said, "Release your resistance; I can't tell you directly."

Bruce recognized the ring that had controlled him last time at a glance, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes, but he still relaxed his mind.

In an instant, a vast amount of information surged into Bruce's mind like a raging tide.

The evil forms of the Batmen, the mysterious and powerful Nth Metal, the Court of Owls hidden in the deep darkness... and the source of Gotham's evil, Barbatos!

Qinuo directly transmitted the entire Dark Nights: Metal event.

After a while, Bruce slowly opened his eyes, his face pale. He took the handkerchief Alfred Pennyworth offered him and wiped the nosebleed that had flowed out.

"This is my enemy."

"How do you feel?"

"Angry enough to kill him."

Bruce's eyes were cold and furious; even if the enemy was a being more powerful than Superman, Batman would not show the slightest fear.

"A piece of advice: these pieces of information should only be treated as intelligence, not as the future, otherwise you will die a miserable death."

"Of course I know."

"Right, you're Batman. Let's go."

After Qinuo flew into the sky and left, Bruce looked up at the direction he disappeared, his eyes a little dazed. After a good while, he turned and walked into the Batcave.

Arriving at the desk in the Batcave, which was piled with files and equipment, Bruce opened his computer and began to formulate a series of plans.

"Justice League Plan..." His fingers tapped rapidly on the keyboard, new content constantly appearing on the screen.

"Court of Owls Disintegration Plan..." Every word was filled with coldness.

"Anti-Batman Plan..." This was to deal with the situation of the Batmen.

"And Anti-Qinuo..." Thinking of Qinuo's replication ability, Bruce's expression grew even more solemn.

In the darkness, Bruce's Shadow was cast on the wall by the computer's light, like a giant Bat, as if ready to pounce on Bruce at any moment.
