Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Desperation

The battlefield was hellfire.

Earth Federation mobile suits were collapsing one after another—torn apart by two unstoppable forces. Explosions lit up the crimson sky like a funeral pyre. Buildings crumbled. Smoke choked the air.

And in the center of it—

Gundam Bedivere and Gundam Bors danced like knights of judgment.

Effortless. Beautiful. Brutal.

Their blades sang in arcs of death. Their movements were calculated, precise. Dozens of Earth Federation suits were shredded in seconds, their pilots barely able to scream before vanishing in flame.

> "Command, we're being overrun! We need reinf—!"

> Signal lost.

> "No! Pull back—PULL BA—!"

> Signal lost.

From the ruined hospital hangar, Nura watched the carnage through the fractured visor of the half-dead Scorpio unit.

Graven was still bleeding beside him—eyes fluttering, barely conscious.

He gripped the controls tighter.

> They're focused on the others.

> This is it. One shot. One chance.

The Scorpio limped forward—thrusters screaming in protest. Its joints clicked like broken bones. The targeting system was dead. The right arm refused to move.

But the engine still burned.

And so did Nura's resolve.

He locked eyes on Gundam Bedivere—currently engaged with two other Federation suits, sword flashing like divine lightning.

> "Come on… come on…" Nura whispered through clenched teeth.

"Just a little closer…"

The Scorpio's feet crunched over rubble, sprinting at full force.

The cockpit rattled.

Warning lights blared.

Every bone in his body screamed to stop.

But Nura screamed louder.

> "GUNDAM!!!"

And then—

CRASH.

Like a meteor from Earth's fury itself, the Scorpio slammed into Bedivere's back, its entire frame becoming a battering ram.

The impact shook the battlefield.

Bedivere staggered—caught off guard for the first time.

Both mechs tumbled forward, crushing wreckage beneath them.

Bors halted mid-swing, his head snapping toward the explosion.

Inside the Scorpio, Nura gritted his teeth, blood trailing down his face. His vision blurred.

> Did I… do it?

Smoke engulfed the air.

Sparks danced across shattered plating.

He couldn't see anything.

Until—

The smoke parted.

And rising slowly, methodically, Gundam Bedivere stood.

Untouched.

Armor scorched. Cape torn.

But unharmed.

The silver giant turned.

Its visor flashed.

> "You dare strike a Knight of the Round from behind?"

"Cowardice."

The voice was cold steel wrapped in divine rage.

Bors stepped beside him, sword resting on his shoulder.

> "Foolish bravery."

"But we honor your conviction."

> "You… monsters…"

Nura coughed blood, glaring up at the titans.

He reached to move—but the Scorpio's right arm finally gave out. Hydraulic fluid hissed. Power dipped. The suit sagged.

Behind him, Graven groaned.

He turned.

Her lips barely moved.

> "...Nura…"

She was still alive.

> I still have to protect her.

Even now.

Even like this.

> "Come on…"

Nura gritted his teeth. "We're not done yet…"

But Bedivere raised his sword.

---

> Smoke, fire, screams—everything around me was death. But I'm still here.

Still breathing. Still fighting.

Because she's still alive behind me.

Graven's breathing was faint. Blood still ran from her head, pooling around the cockpit floor. She didn't speak again.

But Nura didn't need words.

He gritted his teeth and leaned forward, forcing what little strength remained in the broken Scorpio frame. Panels screamed. Power readouts dipped into red.

But it moved.

Barely.

The Gundam before him—Bedivere—stood tall and unrelenting, sword drawn, steps slow and confident like a holy executioner.

Beside him, Bors, the crimson giant, turned its visor with a judgmental stare.

> "You dare strike a Knight of the Round from behind?"

"Cowardice."

Nura's eyes narrowed.

And he snapped back.

> "Cowardice…?"

"Then it suits me just fine—"

"—for a monster like you who plays at being a knight!"

His hands shifted over the controls.

There—near the ruined wreckage of a Federation mobile suit.

A corpse of twisted metal.

Dead weight. But not useless.

The Scorpio moved—arms trembling—and grabbed the fallen suit's wreckage.

Bors flinched, weapon rising.

> "You dare?!"

Nura didn't respond.

He hurled the ruined mobile suit directly at Bors.

The dead machine slammed into the Gundam's faceplate with a screech of metal, sparks exploding on impact.

Bors stumbled.

> "Now!"

Nura bolted.

The Scorpio's legs screamed from the strain, hydraulics sputtering. He sprinted through fire and rubble, weaving between collapsed towers and mobile suit limbs.

Behind him—

Bedivere gave chase.

> "Do you think you can run from us?" the voice boomed from above.

The knightly Gundam soared after him, engines flaring, sword drawn once more.

But Nura wasn't running to escape.

He was setting the trap.

A memory surged—

> "You're clever when you're desperate, Ferius…"

No. Nura. He was Nura now.

And he was still alive.

> "Let's see how much of a knight you really are…"

He gripped the controls and flipped every thruster switch at once, yanking the Scorpio's weight backward in a wild backflip.

Above.

Over.

And behind.

Bedivere didn't expect it.

The Scorpio landed behind the Gundam, dirt and debris blasting outward from the maneuver.

Without hesitation—

> "RRRAAAAAAHHH!!"

Nura plunged the Scorpio's beam saber straight into Bedivere's shoulder joint.

The blade screeched through reinforced plating.

And then—

It sank in.

Deep.

Sparks erupted like blood.

Bedivere staggered, sword dropping slightly.

Inside the cockpit, Nura saw the damage readout. He hit it.

Bedivere's right arm twitched once.

Then went limp.

> "You... knave…!" Bedivere roared.

"You'll PAY for that—!"

Nura coughed, blood running from his mouth.

His vision blurred.

But a grin crept up his face.

> "You talk too much…"

---

> I should be dead.

But if I fall now… she dies with me.

And I refuse to let her die alone.

The saber hissed as it carved deep into Bedivere's right shoulder, sparks bursting in every direction. The knight's arm twitched violently and then fell limp.

> "You… treacherous wretch!" Bedivere roared, staggering back as warning lights blinked across his HUD.

Nura tried to pull the saber free, but—

Too late.

Bedivere twisted.

> "Then perish in dishonor!"

A glowing lance emerged from the Gundam's back and locked into Bedivere's good arm. Without hesitation, he lunged forward and thrust the shining weapon straight toward Scorpio's cockpit.

> —No time—!

Nura slammed the eject panel, flipping open the utility compartment taken from a fallen Federation suit.

And he grabbed a flashbang.

> "Hope you like fireworks."

With a scream, Nura hurled the grenade forward, letting it detonate between them—

BANG!

Light flooded the screens. Bedivere reeled backward, sensors blinded.

> "What—?!" Bedivere growled.

"Blasphemous tricks—!"

> Don't stop now! Move!

Nura slammed the controls to full throttle. The Scorpio lurched, battered joints crying out. He darted forward—not away—but straight at Bors.

The red Gundam turned slowly, massive shield raised, his voice calm but grave.

> "I commend your spirit, Federation pilot… but this is the end."

> "Like hell it is!" Nura snapped, eyes burning.

"You call this justice? Slaughtering civilians? Attacking a hospital?!"

Bors lifted the shield and crouched, ready.

> "Justice must be absolute."

"That is the will of our King."

> Too slow, dammit… he's ready for frontal—

> Wait. That wreckage… above!

The Scorpio hit top speed, but instead of striking head-on, Nura pulled the thrusters hard. He launched upward at the last second, flipping the Scorpio into a tight aerial spin.

> "Let's see how well your justice handles this—!!"

He hurled another flashbang.

Directly into Bors' visor.

BOOM!

The red Gundam flinched as sensors whited out, blinded by the blast.

> "Hngh—what?!" Bors gasped.

"Vision compromised—!"

Nura roared, saber drawn, and dove straight behind the shield.

With a single stab, he drove the beam saber deep into Bors' left shoulder joint.

Sparks exploded.

The shield-arm twitched—

Then collapsed completely.

The massive crimson shield fell with a crash, smashing into a building below.

Bors' arm hung limp, smoke pouring from its joint.

> "My shield—?!"

> "That's right," Nura spat, panting hard, sweat pouring down his face.

"No sword… no shield… no honor!"

> "You… insolent insect!" Bedivere barked, finally recovering.

Nura turned his battered Scorpio toward the two Gundams, body trembling.

Power levels dropping. Ammunition spent. Saber overheating.

Behind him, Graven still breathed.

But time was running out.

> I don't need to win.

I just need to survive.

He raised his saber again, ready for one last charge.

> "Come on, then…"

"Knights of Camelot."

"I shall be your death"

---

Absolutely. Here's a more dramatic, intense, and emotionally charged continuation of Chapter 8—featuring Nura's desperate battle, the death of Bors, and Bedivere's uncontrollable rage.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Malaya

Volume 1 – Chapter 8: Blade Against the Heavens (Climax)

[Nura's POV – Scorpio Unit, battlefield wreckage, dusk]

---

The air burned with fire and fury.

The wreckage of Earth Federation mobile suits littered the earth like shattered bones. Smoke columns twisted into the dying sky. In the middle of this mechanical graveyard, two towering silhouettes loomed—gleaming in gold and crimson.

Bedivere. Bors.

The Knights of Camelot.

Untouched. Unshaken. Unstoppable.

Nura, inside his barely functioning Scorpio unit, felt like an ant staring up at titans. The cockpit buzzed with warning sirens. His vision blurred from exhaustion, pain, and the blood trickling down his temple. Behind him, Graven still lay motionless, breathing shallow, her bandaged head dark with fresh crimson.

And then—a voice echoed across the comms.

> "New Grand Order received. Bedivere, Bors—cease combat. His Majesty commands immediate withdrawal."

The two Gundams paused.

Bors' massive shield lowered slightly.

> "A retreat… now?" Bors asked, uncertainty in his voice.

Bedivere's grip on his lance tightened.

> "The enemy is broken. Why stop now?"

Their hesitation was brief—but it was all Nura needed.

He slammed the throttle forward.

> "You think you can slaughter us and just walk away?!"

The Scorpio lunged with a burst of flame, the saber in its hands roaring alive. Bors turned too late.

> "You—?!"

CLANG!

The saber slammed against Bors' cockpit. Sparks exploded. The armor held—but barely.

> "Not enough!" Nura shouted, veins bulging in his neck.

> "YOU MURDERED INNOCENTS! YOU CRASHED EVERYONE!"

He pushed the Scorpio's overheated thrusters to the limit. The engine screamed. Metal hissed and groaned.

> "YOU DON'T GET TO LEAVE!"

> "You DARE?!" Bors roared.

Inside his cockpit, alarms blared. Red lights flooded his HUD.

> "I fight for our King! For justice!"

> "Then DIE FOR HIM!"

With one final, roaring push, Nura drove the saber in deeper—through smoking armor, past failing hydraulics—

CRACK—

And the blade tore through.

Bors gasped. Blood spilled inside his cockpit.

> "Long… live… the… King…"

BOOM.

The Gundam Bors collapsed, thunder crashing as it hit the earth. Dust and fire billowed in its wake.

Nura's hands trembled on the controls. His breath heaved.

> "I did it… one less monster…"

But silence didn't follow.

Rage did.

The earth quaked beneath Bedivere's feet.

> "You…"

"You killed him…"

His voice was quiet—but full of venom.

Nura raised his eyes.

Bedivere's Gundam was trembling.

The knight's polished gold armor glared under the firelight. His lance hummed with energy. The eye sensors flared like fury itself.

> "YOU FILTHY… WRETCHED… CURSED MONGREL!"

Bedivere's roar echoed across the battlefield like thunder.

> "I'LL RIP YOUR COCKPIT OPEN AND DRAG YOU OUT MYSELF!"

He charged.

Nura instinctively pulled back, firing thrusters to dodge the first sweep of the golden lance. It missed by inches, slicing a burning trail through the air.

> "Shit—!"

Nura flipped Scorpio backward, using the last of its mobility, stumbling through debris. Sparks flew with every step.

Bedivere kept coming. Faster. Angrier.

> "I'LL AVENGE HIM!"

> "COWARDICE?!" Nura yelled. "Then call me a coward! I'll wear it like armor against MONSTERS LIKE YOU!"

He grabbed a fallen Scorpio unit—the corpse of a comrade—and hurled it into Bedivere's path.

> "MOVE!" Bedivere shouted, slicing it in half with a single swing.

Smoke and metal blinded him for a second.

> Now!

Nura blasted upward, maneuvering the Scorpio over Bedivere's head, flipping around—and stabbed down at the Gundam's shoulder joint.

CLANG!

Sparks exploded.

Metal cracked.

Bedivere's right arm froze. Disabled.

> "RAAGHH!" Bedivere snarled in disbelief.

He swung wildly with his left, forcing Nura to disengage.

Just then—another chime. Cold and final.

> "BEDIVERE. FALL BACK. THAT IS AN ORDER."

Bedivere stood trembling, shaking with rage, chest heaving behind his screen. He turned to the burning wreck of Bors.

> "He was my brother… and you—"

> "You destroyed the Earth Federation even the whole surrounding area where the innocent was nothing involved with it." Nura snapped. "You think that makes you a knight?"

Bedivere's eyes locked with Nura's through the digital feed. A moment of pure, boiling hate passed between them.

> "I'll find you again. And when I do… I'll end you."

With a final glare, Bedivere's Gundam lifted off in a burst of golden thrusters.

As he vanished into the darkening sky, Nura was left alone, panting, shaking—beside the burning corpse of the Gundam he'd just killed.
