Chapter 579 - Chapter 579: A Chance Encounter with an Old Friend

When Ming Qi's fingers touched the Bone Tower, the only feeling he had was icy coldness. But other than that, nothing else had changed!

When he had fully grasped the Bone Tower, Ming Qi was still a little incredulous. Could it be so simple? He had witnessed the Bone Tower's confrontation with the dragons before, yet now, holding it in his hands, he felt so calm!

But the icy touch in his hands was real; it couldn't be an illusion. Furthermore, the slight tremor in the surrounding space confirmed that the Bone Tower was indeed the Axis of the World.

After glancing at the Bone Tower in his hand for a few moments, Ming Qi immediately concentrated his divine power and tore through space. His immediate priority was to leave the Beast Soul Heavenly Mausoleum.

As he left the Beast Soul Heavenly Mausoleum, Ming Qi felt the Bone Tower in his hands change. It was rapidly becoming transparent and ethereal, then transformed into a transparent scroll, with a faint black shadow moving aimlessly within it.

Ming Qi instantly understood that this World Axis had a profound inhibitory effect on undead creatures. No wonder the Thunder Power had vanished after the Skeleton Dragons had departed.

Having understood the reason, Ming Qi no longer worried. He left the Beast Soul Heavenly Mausoleum, pondered the void for a moment, and then flew towards the nearest world. The World Axis could not submit to anyone, not even the gods, so he had to find land and gather the information contained within it.

After two days of walking, the outline of the world ahead began to emerge. Ming Qi quickened his pace, and soon, he had passed through the natural barrier and landed on the ground.

This was a world imbued with an ancient aura. By sensing the world's power, it could be determined that this world's sequence was similar to that of the Great World of Desolation, and there were essentially no superior beings or powerful gods.

The World Axis might disappear on its own at any time, so Ming Qi immediately began to study it upon landing.

In reality, the World Axis wasn't complex, and the rules and information contained within it were relatively simple. Part of Ming Qi's eagerness to analyze it stemmed from his desire to see if obtaining the two volumes of the World Axis could reveal the whereabouts of the Galactic Power.

Three days later, Ming Qi raised his hand, and with a wave of divine power, the World Axis was sent flying.

The divine object possessed a spirit. The moment it entered the air, the World Axis transformed into a brilliant glow and quickly vanished.

Even after two volumes of the World Axis, he still couldn't find any trace of the Galactic Power.

After months of wandering through the Beast Soul Heavenly Mausoleum, Ming Qi was exhausted, so he decided to rest briefly here before continuing his search for the next location.

After wandering aimlessly for several days, Ming Qi arrived at an ancient forest and saw a dozen enormous tigers emerge from the trees. Their fangs bared, they looked unmistakably like Dabai.

A thought struck Ming Qi: Could this be Dabai's hometown?

Thinking of Dabai, Ming Qi suddenly realized it had been a long time since he'd seen it. It was said to have left Tianhuang and returned to the demonic spirit realm, but Dabai hadn't appeared since the Tianhuang catastrophe.

"Let's find out," Ming Qi thought, quickening his pace. In a moment, he caught up with the dozen or so tigers ahead. With a wave of his hand, he swooped one down and brought it to his side. Then, a burst of divine power shot through it, and the tiger immediately shook its head and spoke.

The remaining tigers, upon seeing their companion captured, quickly surrounded him, baring their teeth and growling. But Ming Qi was too powerful, and they dared not approach.

"Who are you?"

"Have you ever seen one of our kind with a scar on his neck?"

Ming Qi asked in the simplest and most understandable way possible. Dabai had a scar on his neck, which made it easy to identify.

"There are so many with scars, I don't know which one you're looking for."

However, the following answer left Ming Qi frustrated. After pondering, he changed his answer: "Have you ever seen a demon fox with advanced cultivation?"

Since he couldn't find Dabai's whereabouts, he might try to find the whereabouts of the Dikui Demon Fox. Dabai had traveled with the Dikui Demon Fox, and without Dikui's guidance, Dabai wouldn't have been able to find the demon spirit world.

"That's our military advisor!"

This time, Ming Qi received an answer that surprised and delighted him. Military advisor? That's a good title, but since the Dikui Demon Fox might be here, then Dabai is most likely here too.

"Take me to see your leader and military advisor!"

Ming Qi laughed heartily, grasping the tiger by the scruff of its neck with his right hand and lightly lifting it up into the air.

"The leader's been captured, and the military advisor's missing. We can't find them."

As soon as he reached mid-air, Ming Qi's laughter suddenly died down. It seemed this place was quite restless.

"Where were they taken?"

"To a wolf den five hundred miles to the west."

"Let's go!"

Ming Qi immediately increased his speed. Five hundred miles was nothing to him; he reached the destination in a matter of breaths.

High in the sky, Ming Qi looked down and saw that the ground below was dotted with wolf dens of varying depths. Numerous red-haired giant wolves were darting back and forth among them, many of which could transform into humanoid forms.

Dozens of miles southwest of the wolf dens, a pack of over a thousand giant wolves was running wildly forward.

After a moment's hesitation, Ming Qi formed a sword with his left hand and slashed through the air. A surge of divine power erupted, transforming into a blade of light over a hundred meters long in the air, slashing towards the distant pack of giant wolves. Simultaneously, he released his aura, carrying the tiger to the ground with a sharp blow.

Even before he touched the ground, Ming Qi's overwhelming pressure had completely descended. Many giant wolves froze in their places, trembling with fear. Even some of the giant wolf demons capable of transforming into humanoid forms were terrified. In the end, only a few giant wolves with relatively advanced cultivation were forced to reveal their true forms, cautiously approaching Ming Qi.

"Who are you?"

A giant wolf asked cautiously.

"Hand over the captives we've captured, or I'll exterminate your entire clan."

Ming Qi didn't mince words and directly delivered his threats.

At the word "extermination," the giant wolves bared their teeth and roared, clearly furious.

"If you don't give me an answer before sunset, I'll take action."

Ming Qi looked up at the crimson sun, which had already reached the treetops, and spoke patiently. The sun was already setting, and sunset was less than a quarter of an hour away.

A few minutes later, several giant wolves with advanced cultivation finally turned and entered a wolf den. They soon dragged out a limp tiger. The tiger was exceptionally large, but the scar on its neck was striking.

"Dabai."

Ming Qi recognized it immediately; the tiger was Dabai.

The previously listless tiger looked up in confusion at Ming Qi's call, but when it saw Ming Qi standing in the distance, its huge eyes lit up with boundless joy. With a roar, it struggled to break free from the giant wolf demon's restraints and ran towards Ming Qi.

Plop!

Halfway through the run, Dabai collapsed to the ground, unable to move.

Ming Qi took a few steps forward, examined Dabai's injuries, channeled a stream of divine power, and summoned the King of Life and Death with a flick of his finger.

He pointed at the surrounding wolves and gave a crisp command: "Kill them all, leave no one alive."

"Sanlang, what brings you to the demon spirit world?"

Replenished with Ming Qi's divine power, Dabai immediately recovered considerably.
