Chapter 539 - Chapter 539: The Beginning of the Ten Days

"Are you saying that the Tianzui Camp will no longer besiege the City of the Gods, but will instead directly destroy the Origin of the Desolate World?" Ming Qi asked.

Bai Bing nodded. "The one you killed earlier was a major general in the Tianzui Army. According to him, Tianyi, the commander of the Tianzui Army, had long been planning to destroy the Origin of the Desolate World and was now ready. It seems that even if you don't capture the City of the Gods, it's only a matter of time before they do. After all, the gods of the Desolate World would never fall for such an obvious trap."

After learning this, Ming Qi realized that the situation was becoming increasingly serious. Although he had defeated the Tianzui Army besieging the City of the Gods, he had inadvertently accelerated Tianyi's efforts to destroy the Origin of the Desolate World.

Once the Origin of the World is destroyed, the entire world's order will face collapse. Once the Origin is destroyed to a certain extent, order will completely collapse, and the entire world will enter the countdown to destruction.

A world without its origin is a world of utter death, where life wanes and death spreads, rendering it impossible for any living being to survive.

"I had originally planned to vanish along with Tianhuang, but I didn't expect you to come."

Bai Bing stared at Ming Qi, still baffled as to why he risked his life to save her.

Ming Qi naturally declined to explain. After a brief chat, the two returned to the City of the Gods.

......

At the foot of a precipitous mountain thousands of miles from the Divine Realm, a strange-looking black bird circled the peak several times before vanishing in a flash.

The next moment, the black bird appeared within the peak itself. The interior was hollow, and a vast cavern snaked down, extending deep into the earth. The black bird spiraled down along the cavern's path, flying for about a quarter of an hour before passing through a fishy-smelling underground swamp and arriving at a vast, flat expanse.

This expanse of space, carved into the depths of the giant peak, was immense, a full kilometer in radius. It was incredibly empty, and numerous strange birds flew in and out of the area in a constant stream.

In the center of the clearing, a vast and complex magic circle continuously shone with multicolored light, forming a portal-like passageway. Two powerful aliens stood beside this portal.

A strange black bird flew over and landed on one of the men, dressed in a robe and cloak. The man listened intently for a moment, then turned and said, "Sir Broken Dragon, the army outside the City of the Gods has been defeated. No trace of the gods has been seen within the city."

The powerful alien known as Broken Dragon was a massive, unusually tall figure with a face like an iron basin and a pair of pointed horns on his head.

"Master Tianwu, I hope your information is reliable. I'll inform the commander immediately."

Suilong seemed to have little faith in Master Tianwu's investigative methods, or perhaps he simply didn't have a favorable impression of Tianwu himself, and his words always sounded unpleasant.

Suilong walked up to the teleportation array and, with his right hand, grasped the air, producing a fist-sized square seal. Upon closer inspection, the image engraved on it was Suilong's own image.

With the seal in hand, Suilong waved it toward the door-shaped passage. A piece of paper flew out of the seal and landed directly inside.

Soon, several rays of light emerged from the door-shaped passage, and then six figures suddenly appeared before Suilong and Tianwu.

The six men had varying figures and strange, bizarre appearances, but without exception, they all exuded a powerful aura. The leader, dressed in white, had a handsome face. From a distance, he looked like a handsome young man, but he had an extra eye on his forehead. Instead of a vertical pupil, it was a horizontal eye, almost in line with his left and right eyes, giving him an extremely strange look.

"Blood Blade is dead, and the City of Gods has been liberated. We will make final preparations and open a temporary passage. We will invite the venerable ones in the other worlds to return. We will begin seizing the Origin in ten days!"

The young man in white was none other than Tianyi, the commander of the Heavenly Sin Army.

Tianyi made the final decision, and the seven Heavenly Sin commanders present, along with the Heavenly Witch, were unanimous.

......

Mingqi and Baibing returned to the City of Gods. Baibing first sought out the priests of the temple, while Mingqi went directly to Saint Liuli, who was preparing for the subsequent battle in the Celestial Clan's headquarters.

Ming Qi didn't interrupt Liuli's plans, waiting until the other Celestial Clan experts had dispersed before recounting his findings.

After hearing that the Heavenly Sin Army's ultimate goal was to destroy the Heavenly Desolate Origin as bait to lure the Heavenly Desolate gods into existence, Liuli remained remarkably calm, as if she had known all this for a long time.

"If the Heavenly Desolate Origin is destroyed, the world will inevitably cease to exist."

Ming Qi's reason for seeking out Liuli was ultimately that he didn't want to witness the destruction of the Heavenly Desolate world. However, he had already discerned from Liuli that the Celestial Clan's ultimate goal was clearly aligned with that of the Heavenly Sin Army: a divine war.

"What we need is a divine war."

Liuli made no secret of her intentions: "This is the true purpose of this war, and it's also where it began. On this issue, we're actually aligned with Tianzui. We even have reason to cooperate."

"Cooperation..."

Ming Qi repeated the word, then paused for a long moment before saying, "Since you intend to cooperate with the Tianzui Camp, this war has already surpassed my capabilities. Therefore, our cooperation ends here."

Ming Qi knew there was no need to continue the discussion. He had considered collaborating with the Tianzui Camp before, but that was a long time ago. Now, he was tired of collaborating with others. He no longer wanted to rely on anyone's help to accomplish certain tasks, even if their goals were the same. While some things still needed to be done, they should be done alone, not with others, especially not with the enemy.

In Ming Qi's eyes, the Tianhuang gods had become his enemies after the alliance with the Northern Gods. This was undeniable, but past events had also proven that the Tianzui Camp was also an enemy. His stubborn nature prevented him from collaborating with his enemies.

"We need your help!"

Liuli's expression darkened upon hearing Ming Qi's departure. Although Ming Qi wouldn't be participating directly in the battle, his role was undeniable. Though his strength hadn't reached the Martial God realm, his influence was far greater than that of a Martial God. And in the future, on the battlefield of the gods, this role would be infinitely magnified.

"We're just collaborating. Now that Tianzui has been defeated, I can no longer influence future divine wars."

Ming Qi had already walked out the door when he spoke. His resolute departure was largely due to Liu Li's instructions. It seemed the envoys heading to negotiate with Tianzui's camp were already on their way. Another reason was simple: his current strength simply wasn't enough to participate in the divine war.

Without further delay, Ming Qi chose to leave the City of the Gods.

Bai Bing belonged to the Divine Realm. Her choice wouldn't change because of him. The direction of the Divine Realm would inevitably determine her future. Ming Qi had no need to disturb her.

After leaving the City of Gods, Ming Qi searched along the way for half a day, found a quiet mountain rock peak, and landed there.
